In my opinion, your channel is the most accurate of all here on UA-cam. What works, what doesn't, mold and casting techniques here are better than any shown on any other channel. The fact that you only have 28k subscribers says that you don't actively promote or hire any promotional services to acquire hits or views, nor have you paid porn sites to place script hacks to exploit browser weaknesses to count up false views by vulnerable computers. Your videos may not be polished with 4K resolution, but the information content is right on and I've been searching and viewing UA-cam for well over 3 years on casting iron. Good job, sir. My dad would have enjoyed your channel as much as I do. He was a mold maker in the early 50's. I can't say thanks enough for your contribution to my knowledge as to others as well.
Thank you for watching my videos. I have never used any paid service to promote my videos and never will also I have never made any money on youtube and never will. Those ads you see on my channel are put there by youtube without my O.K. and all money goes to youtbe.
Handy addition. I have a genuine Colchester faceplate with the L0 taper but I thought it sacrilege to drill odd holes in it. Maybe I shouldn't be so precious.
Thanks for watching. The next time you put a link to your video on my comments just put the title because your comment will end up into my spam bin and most times I will not see it.

If blondiehacks can do it you can do it.
I love the versatility an iron foundry gives you. I look forward to building one for my own shop.
I learnt long ago that accessories for lathes and milling machines are just too expensive to buy.
Always greatly explained and showed.
I wasn't expecting it to come out that smooth from how it was at the beginning
Both sides would come out smooth if I machined deep enough but the plate would too thin for my purposes.
It's always good to have a stash of machine parts "blanks" . Never know when you'll need a spacer bearing housing right quick.
You got that right!
Very clever approach! And when a faceplate has too many holes, you just melt it and make a new one :-)
Ditto! Thanks for the look. Enjoyed.
Yep, when it looks like swiss cheese make another one.
Будем ждать продолжения.
Good to see the old Colchester Student is still going strong.
Very useful and interesting video, as usual. Well done.
Colchester accessories are the bain of my existence. So difficult to get and so expensive.
How long have you had your colchester lathe?
@@luckygen1001 about 10 years I think. It's a Student Mk 2
Then those accessories would be a lot more expensive than ten years ago.@@DDB168
Where would i locate some ferric silicon to add to my batches so i can avoid White iron? I love your setup, and You are a Great teacher! Thanks!
I get my ferrosilicon from cast metal services.

superb vid thanks
Was the casting material brake rotors and some scrap?
I save brake rotors for this reason. Just need to get my oil furnace finished.
I think in this test melt I used iron scrap from olfoundryman.
