Released 1966 on UK Decca (12 497); written by Jagger / Richards; flipside of "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing In The Shadow?". Vol. 5 / Part 5 of 5
Your vintage Telefunken record changer did an amazing job playing this Rolling Stones 45!! The sound is clean, wide and open, and the Stones are great on this 1966 recording...Friends, Lloyd.
I've been a SUPER fan of the Stones for over 25 years now, and for some reason this song has always alluded me. Until now. I finally played it with all of my attention and well it blew me away! A b-side like this needs to be rediscovered. It's a mighty fine gem!
Same here. Killer song, but it's "eluded" not "alluded", that's a different word with a different meaning. Download: www.guitars101.com/forums/f145/rolling-stones-1966-could-you-walk-water-sister-morphine-stu-flac-685363.html
I went looking for this song on Google because it stuck in my memory after having heard it over 50 years ago. It made such an impression I could still bring the melody to mind but I wanted to see if I remembered the refrain right - "who's driving my train" not plane, was the way it stuck in my mind. But obviously I mixed in the train with from Love in Vain. Anyway, this was surely a kick ass song
After careful consideration I believe this to be one of the long lost jewels that never got any attention due to it being a "B-side " of a pretty big hit.
Deriviative blues. Micks vocals are similar to the song he sings in that awesome movie Performance by one of the greatest filmmakers who ever lived. Interesting connections. Thanks for posting I've never heard the B-side. The only single I don't own of theirs.
A bientôt.
Love the harmonica on this, always loved the song too. Never got the air play it deserved.

What a classic. Ian Stewart....HE THE MAN : )
This was when Mick and Keith's obsession with Bob Dylan was really starting to get serious. This was obviously inspired by "Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat."
Its a 12 bar blues!
