@syra1541 My only guess is 1, it showed she didn't know where the votes were going, and 2, it might look like revisionist history when she says she was actually doing that to see if she needed to play her idol. Like the person saying their bad move/play was actually strategic, but in this case, it would be truthful.
I thought Rachel's best move was rollin' up on them in the dark, when they were planning her demise, and she got to listen and figure out her moves/strategy from hearing what they said and thought.
Watching Survivor for over a decade. I've never rooted for someone so much. She's most adorable yet killing those challenges!! Beauty and the beast! She undersold herself because she is humble and not arrogant. It's a show of her culture as well.

Love, love, love her. She was exciting to watch from start to finish. I am so glad the jury saw how much she truly earned this seasons Survivor title. Congratulations to her and the castmates for making this an unforgettable season!
Awesome interview!! Would love to get a deeper dive with her at some point too. Congrats Rachel on a well earned win! I’ve been rooting for her all season, so seeing her go on to win was very exciting for me!
like legit awesome interview & rachel is just astronomical. top tier new era winner. x4 individual immunity wins elite challenge beast status. blindsided andy with her idol perfectly when she needed the most. underdog to top dog aura. under the radar triple threat. shot in the dark game changer, rice stealer & just stellar overall gameplay. absolute lock for future all-stars season lets goooooooooooooo
I was really rooting for Sam to win but I can see why now Rachel won. she just has this soft comforting energy about her. She also had more agency that I gave her credit for.
Sam was insignificant and made no impact on the game and was carried to the end. He literally did nothing. He never recovered from the Sierra vote out and had been playing from a loser position since the merge and was ineffective socially and strategically. He was desperate and played only from the bottom and was an insignificant player whose vote was worthless and meaningless at every single tribal council since the merge except for the one blindside that Andy orchestrated. Nobody cared to work w him. The only time he had power was when Andy used him and Genevieve to blindside Caroline. Sam tried to take credit for Andy’s plan, “Operation Italy.” Sam is a weak player. He sucks at immunity challenges and isn’t a physical, social, or strategic threat. The guy is overrated and does not deserve any recognition or praise. He couldn’t even tell us at FTC what he did, he just vaguely used descriptive words and adjectives to describe himself but said nothing about his actual gameplay. He’s the most unimpressive final contestant. Sue had more gameplay than Sam. Sam’s the real goat who managed to get lucky and got carried to the end. He doesn’t even deserve to sit at final 3.
Well deserved win. Some people are reducing her game to 'luck', and I think that's just an unfair characterisation of her game. Every Survivor winner has had some element of luck. If you want to talk about how lucky she was to receive Sol's advantage, then you HAVE to talk about how UNLUCKY she was to be in a group with 5 other people of the same tribe in the first place. If you want to talk about how lucky she was to get the clue at the auction, then you HAVE to talk about how stealthy she was to get the idol under time pressure, under the nose of everyone else. If you want to talk about Rachel's luck, then you HAVE to talk about Sam's luck when it came to the wind at fire making. Yes, she was lucky, but it's the way she made use of the advantages and idols that was masterful. If you can't see that, let me remind you: - Using the SITD to NOT waste her idol when she's clearly in a relatively precarious situation, if she had wasted her idol at that point, there's a high chance she doesn't make it to FTC (less protection, using your idol early just paints a bigger target on your back) - Allowing her opponents to make her case in front of the jury, before whipping out her idol at the timeliest moment, amplifying the effects of the idol multiple folds And this is ON TOP of her good game instincts, to know when she's in trouble or not, knowing when to put her name in the mix to get a shot at the block-a-vote advantage, to stealth around to gather information, being a challenge beast etc. I think FTC was edited in a way to make it seem closer than it was, and yes I have to give it to Sam for an absolutely riveting performance, but I think if Rachel was able to flesh out her answers (which we will never know without seeing the unedited FTC), it wouldn't have been close. All in all, Rachel WAS lucky, but she was way more than just that. She capitalised on her luck masterfully and that's essentially why she deserved the win. Sam had the better pitch at FTC (at least what was shown of it), but Rachel's game is definitely more well-rounded.
Love love LOVE this breakdown of her game 🖤 one side note, I just personally don't like when people discount people's game because they were lucky but that may be due to me liking RPGs and DND, it's a VALID stat lol but like you said, you can have all the luck in the world but still not know how to apply that luck.
@@jinxedangel2Every winner gets lucky in at least one moment, often so many more than detractors care to admit. I think also coming from a background consisting of playing basketball, RPGs (D&D included), and card games helps highlight that luck, if you know how to capitalize on it, is a skill
💯💯💯💯💯 Shout out to Tyson who always reminds people that every winner had some luck to make it to the end; sometimes based on attributes ascribed at birth; sometimes based on game mechanics; sometimes based on flukes. But that's all a part of the combination of Outwit/Outplay/Outlast that makes Survivor what it is.
It never happened for me, to have my favorite 3 players from the beginning make it all the way to the end, together! And my #1 actually winning😁very happy! Congrats Rachel🎉!

I don’t know why people thought SAM was so good. He wasn’t good at challenges, he never made fire for camp, he was arrogant, ……I think Rachel was the better player and smart strategizer and deserved to win.
During FTC, I wanted her to say, I'm sorry you've spent so much energy trying to get me out when it didn't work, don't blame me for being a threat.. blame yourself for failing to deal with it
@@ourpetslifewithsachakabuan5831 Rachel was making faces too. They were both fighting for a million dollars dude... you're going to get emotional. I think they both respect that.
Agreed, not the best winning game but she might be the best player, she’s the total package, Strategic force, social goddess, puzzle beast (which means challenge beast in the modern era) and super smart. I would have more faith in her to win any random season than anyone else in the new era
Rewatched the FTC and Rachel actually did better than Sam. She really owned her game and her making that immunity record is amazing. Love that the jury recognized that she dominated the last part of the season which was crucial, winning back to back to back immunity challenges, playing her advantages to take out Andy, then Genevieve.
I feel like Rachel is the type of player that will go far every time she plays Survivor. She has that ability to adapt and pivot and a cunning stealthiness that only a few winners have.
My favorite winner of the new era! She was so wonderful in this interview. Really love that so many great players from this cast seem so excited to return for more RHAP shows!
Rachel wins!! Sam gets the second place, and no one voted sue. It would have been perfect if sam gets atleast 2 or 3 votes just to show how good of a “scrappy” game he played. Do you think a season with “Winners vs Runner ups” from the new Era would be great?
Rachel you deserved to win. She was dominant af! They kept trying to get her out and she strategized and survived every vote and won immunity when she needed to. Anyone can be lucky to find an idol but very few players know how to properly play it when the stakes are high and it counts. But Sam did nothing. Sol, Kyle, Gabe, Andy, Genevieve were all greater threats than Sam. He never won an immunity when his cocky clown ass thought he would run the game. Sam was saved by Andy and he tried to steal credit for Andy’s Operation Italy. Sam had no game whatsoever, he played from a loser position since the merge and made no power moves, had no strategy, and had no social game bc everyone thought he was arrogant. This was a great season. Very modern survivor feel. No one wins survivor without luck, especially modern era. Rachel played the hand she was dealt perfectly and had some big time competition (Gabe, Genevieve, Andy). Great winner - she may be the biggest target if there was an all winners season post-40.
First of all Congratulations to Rachel for winning the title of Sole Survivor. She totally owned this season. She was nervous at the final tribal and was going after Sam full throttle whenever he spoke. Rachel was feeling sweaty watching Sam win the fire challenge. She won 7 of the 8 votes from the jury. Wow. Great season. Hope now since she is now a millionaire, she wont steal a bag of rice for a meal. Haha
The last time it was two women in the talks for the win for most of the merge was Koah Rong. And actually, add Cydney and you got 3 VERY strong games from women.
