I saw Blur at the old Cotton Club in Atlanta in 1997, right before "Song 2' really blew up. Rolling Stone magazine actually wrote up the show in that week's issue. They noted there were about 600 people there. We were at the bar, and only about 15 feet from the stage. One of the best shows I ever saw. There was a British fella in the crowd who was extremely stoked, because "back home, there would be about 70,000 more people here."
Same feeling,, same year,,,in Vegas!! I was jumping like a grasshopper (was a true fan after I listened this song) while most of the crowd didn't knew any song other than Song2,,, memories!!
@@ollyf5088 Blur is much tighter/poppier than Pavement ever were. Also they were like huge popstars in the UK, Pavement were never anything close to that in the US. Also Blur of course had way more 60s British Rock influence like Kinks/Who/Beatles than Pavement ever did.
One sharp suit there Damon. Great version of this classic too! Plus love the way he messes with conan at the end 😁 love him or hate him he is certainly unique
@@LampoonGoon yes fair point. I saw him at Wembley a few months ago and can confirm he is still very much alive and still very much unique. I’ve edited comment to reflect this 👍
I was probably in some vegetable seed that my dad would later eat, be cell for a while in his system, then a sperm that would eventually fertilize one of my mom's ovaries in early '95, all that instead of being a teen enjoying the best music era.
This song opened my eyes to blur,,, remember first listening @ mtv 120minutes!! Around 94,,, I remember seen then live finally in Vegas 97,,, that same weekend you could choose between seen : blur, Morrissey,311,front 242, hole, ice cube in different gigs!!!! Glory days!!
Yes, but just videos. For example: "Blur Live At Glastonbury 2009" complete, or videos about blur (22 Minutes or 60 minutes and more) there are a lot of videos about blur. Please wait for more
Most adorable British band ever. God.

God it pains me to read these comments cus ppl rly be living my dreams 😭
Graham is awesome here, those noises he makes at the middle part are badass af
he makes excellent use of his legendary pedal chain, especially his delay pedal and flanger
I'm guessing thats just him muting with lots of distortion
He is amazing
seeing this on the Conan O'Brian show in 1993 changed my life... thanks for sharing, Juan.
Jamie Wilson you're welcome! :D
When Blur are blurry lol
Smartass b1tch
Good one, @Sufia I 🤣
Gustavo Arluna thank you 😂
were*
ok ok they were not blurry in real life lol, they are blurry in this video which is still blurry
A cult band in the US back then. They played at the Whisky A Go Go on this tour. I still dress like Graham in this vid to this day.
I always think of Pavement as their American counterparts

@@vanishing_girl both are educated, aloof and indifferent to their audience.
Indifferent here? You cannot say that of them in later times, I don't think that holds up

This looks blurry. But I can see how amazing Blur's gig is. I love this album so much! :)
ahhhaaaa Blur looks blurry...heheheheh hahaha....lololololololololololololol
I was about 2 or 3 when this aired. Probably busy wetting the bed instead of enjoying the best of the 90's. :(
Jajaja I was 18 then,,, finally saw them live in Vegas 97,,, 80'-90' music was simple another dimension!!
at least you were alive then. 2003 just a lil bit too late.

MUY BUENA BLUR
Me encantaba que Damon se divertia al cantar y no le importaba si se miraba bien o no, aunque siempre Lucia muy lindo 🤭.

WHY ARE THEY WEARING SUITS
Tom Kelly Modern life is rubbish , trying to imitate the 40s or something me thinks , somewhat "formal" (?
it's their take on the "Mods" fashion of the 1960's. think of ray davies
Because they mean business
