Jeff Buckley Has a song called So Real with the lyric "couldn't awake from the nightmare that sucked me in and pulled me under Pulled me under". He drowned from the undertow in a river.
This usually has Buddy Miles listed as the organ player , but I have heard snippets over the years of Jimi playing piano and B3 organ . Probably we'll never know who it is exactly
Jimi Hendrix died in 1970. This came out in 1973. From the information about the album, Jimi was not involved. They did have other players by then, that sounded like Jimi.
Thanks Big Mike for introducing me to The Last Poets back on 1320 W.25th in Lambert's Point.
so hard to find this version! haunting.
ornette coleman I've got the 7" single & a couple of cds, the only difference I can make out is slightly different eq & stereo panning.
The Last Poets and Hendrix incredible amazing, haunting.
I'm writing a biography on Jimi, THIS WILL HAUNT ME FOREVER. Beautiful..

Only Buddy Miles on organ. Still great though, eventhough I prefer the original percussion version.

Wow!
I think Jimi (and also Miles) only played the "Doriella Du Fontaine" joint, not this one.
I believe that the CD version of this I have says Hendrix is on Bass, but looking back it sounds like an organ bass.
I used to think this jam was precursor to rap. (Before rap as a genre was defined a couple decades later...)
Someone Wrote The Don’t Know What Jimi.s Contribution To This Song Was. Think About it Mate. He Fucking Lived and Die.d Like It Literally
He was the best guitarist that ever lived
Creepy irony what this song is about and Jimi being involved with the project
Jimi wasn't initially included. This isn't the original.
+psykomystro Where is the original? We must have more of the loud unspoken word.

Why would you say he wasn't a rock musician by choice and what's wrong with him being a rock musician anyway?
