How GOOD Was The Professor ACTUALLY? Could He Have Made The NBA? In this video I talk about Grayson Boucher who is also known as the professor. He is arguably the best ball handler in the world and is also probably the most famous streetball player in the world. Many people believe that he should be in the nba while others think his play style is a gimmick and he would not be a pro player anywhere. In this video I tell you guys how good I think he was based on the research I have done and my experience of playing in a low level pro league in Europe

The Professor may not have been able to play in the NBA, mostly cause he's relatively small, but he HAS been making his living playing bball for years, so that makes him a professional.

He could easily play in the NBA if he really wanted to..The fact everyone says he is too small look at Spud Web or Mugsy Boghes.. Easily as good as those guys were

Those guys were really strong despite their height and athletic freak.
The Professor was averaging 4.5 PPG in the CBA, his career high was 16 points in a single game.
A former NBA bench warmer, Matt Freije averaged 19.5 PPG and 9.7 TRB in the CBA.
The talent gap is huge between the lower pros and the major pros.
I played College and JuCo ball in Canada and I was always the best player on the court almost everywhere I played, except when a pro or another Collegiate athlete showed up.

      Different strength and athleticism.
Bogues was an incredible defender and passer in College, for Team USA and in the NBA. He was always the leader of his team in steals and assists.
And he was able to score and attack the basket when he needed to. Completely different players.
There are reasons why the Professor was a back-up PG in the CBA. Defensively, he was a solid liability. If you're not an incredible scorer, you won't play pro ball if you are a horrible defender.

From what I've seen him do he's truly specialized in street-ball. He has this ability in one on one situations a la pick up games to get in his opponent's head and fake them out with elaborate like 4, 5, 6+ step fakes. I don't see that kind of thing translating as well to the official game, necessarily. Of course I bet he can play that style as well, we just don't see as much of it because again he specializes in street ball.

Calling someone "retarded" is an opinion, not a fact. Whether or not one thinks he is good at ball-handling is an opinion because people have different opinions about what constitutes good ball-handling. The same can be said for whether he is athletic enough. That said, breaking the rules is a fact. So is saying he is shorter than the average NBA player. So it's a mixture of opinions and facts. You're both wrong in saying it's 100% opinions or 100% facts when it's somewhere between the extremes.
