Thanks, Jason. Lots of info in this segment. My heart really goes out to all of the hurricane victims. I'm praying this isn't some kind of "new normal." 😥
Always great industry updates. Helene and now Milton are going to change our winter RV plans.
Wind chill becomes EXTREME!. The goal seems to make one fearful everything.
The tires on the OVE look skimpy...like toy tires that will fly off the trailer at highway speeds. It needs beefy larger tires and a suspension upgrade. Great episode as usual.. lots of content. Thank you!
Thank you Jason for telling of the Escapees selling their campgrounds, and the weather warning system. That was pretty cool seeing that new trailer that sleeps 4 from Forest River. 2025 Remote Vans look cool. Thank you again Jason for this information.
What a coincidence that everything was running smoothly with Escapees until HH bought them. Then we had the major issue with addresses, which was a big problem for those of us with businesses. Now, on top of that, the parks are up for sale-but of course, the HH purchase had nothing to do with any of this...
It might be more fair to say just that Harvest Hosts themselves had nothing to do with it, as neither the parks or the mailing service were bought by them. But the issues surely stem from the changes.
Their campgrounds are run down from a pack of investment. The issues with the mail service wreak of poor management
The sale of the club to HH and the campgrounds on the market are more likely indicative of a bigger issue. The bigger issue being that the Carr’s children, who took over the business, have taken too much cash out and been too hands off in the management. Now it’s too far gone; I would be the mail service will be for sale next.
I was trying to get all my Passport stamps for the Blue Ridge Parkway last month. I missed two because they were temporarily closed. It looks like it is going to be a while until I get those last two...
Thanks for another great update!
The Taxa Outdoors Mantis can sleep 4, is under 19 feet, and is garagable as well. its also a popup.
I'm so confused about new windchill verbage!! Not clear at all..jmho
Can we get them to stop labeling every storm a “snowpocalypse” at 1” or less
Great show
Kz 181BH is 20' long and sleeps 4, it was 3,200 pounds dry when i bought mine, now they're apparently a bit heavier at 3,500.
Grand parents start it. Kids build it. Grand kids sell it.
Surprised you didn't mention Florida. With your reach it might help keep people from heading south this week. We are leaving because of hurricane Milton, due Wed. Will do a lot of damage from Tampa area to Jacksonville area.
Unfortunately I recorded this Friday Morning when Milton's trajectory wasn't quite so solid.
Our Jayco Jay Flight is 3,380 lbs and sleeps at least 4. It's 21 feet. 💪
I understand what's included in those vans but the prices, just like that of RVs, are freakin' insane. The companies might as well advertise "For rich campers/ travelers only. The rest of you poor/middle class suckers, eh, we got nothin' for ya 'cuz it's all about the money, & we're as greedy as it gets."
So bc some ppl are confused by the old weather terms, now we're not going to be told if wind is a factor? Or is that a detail that we'll be advised of separately in weather reports? Bc it seems the old way of saying it said it more clearly, & said it all. I don't like when information is dumbed down instead of educating ppl. Maybe I'm missing something in the story??? Ty though for your reporting. 👍
I think some of the technology requirements gets back to a previous topic of yours and that was the question "What is camping?" When folks are doing more destination/resort camping the campground is closer to a hotel room than a back to nature campsite. As a Boomer I consider things like WiFi and cell access as requirements as they allow me to find things to do and places to eat in the local area. This is different than when we go to a state or national park where we are trying to get back to nature so we leave the computers at home and the phone is only used for emergency service. I suspect a deeper look would find a similar situation for the younger folks and as a group the difference is they tend to do more destination camping than the older generations.
Recirculating water shower. No, thanks.
Sounds like Millennial's behavior is Lazy. 😄
👍
Is this a George Carlin joke?
I'm happy that Mellennials want to do fake camping, that leaves more room in the boondocks for us authentic campers.
Escapee's statement... blah blah blah... it's all B.S. ... just say we felt like selling and getting out
What millennials want is not camping. They don't get that the whole point of camping is to get away from technology and cities. Not bring it with you. They are so lazy they don't even want to set up their own camps or campers. That's really pathetic.
How are we not featured? ROA OFFROAD- RVSofAmerica. Have you not seen what we’ve done? PAUSE REBOOT MDC Imperial Outdoors BRS OFF-ROAD ESCAPOD? The list goes on. Off-road Off-grid puts the stick and staple campers to shame! 1080ah of lithium and 1400watts of Solar! Check us out Jason.
Great show
