1. Aphmau’s real name is Jessica. She was born on October 16th, 1989 which makes her 26 years old as of today. Aphmau grew up with her mom, dad, and a half brother. A few years after Aphmau was born, her parents separated and her and her mom went to live with her grandparents. Her brother and cousins got gaming consoles and she loved playing on them when she was allowed. Because her parents split up, she went back and forth between her mom and her dad which gave her a break from the craziness at her grandparents house. Her mom and dad eventually moved back in together for a period of time and actually got her a Nintendo 64 from Best Buy. This was her first own gaming console.
2. At elementary school, Aphmau made friends who also loved playing video games. After the events of 9/11, her father pulled her out of school and home-schooled her for a year which didn’t give her a lot of time to interact with friends. During the period from middle to high school she played a game called FreQuency for the PS2, but the most life changing game she ever played was Final Fantasy XI back in 2004. While playing Final Fantasy, Aphmau met a warrior in the game named Dom, who’s real name was Jason, and she eventually began dating him. She took trips to New Jersey where Dom lived, and when Aphmau was 18, she moved in with Jason and they got a cat named Johnny.
3. During 2012, Aphmau found out she was pregnant and her boyfriend Jason actually proposed to her. Eventually, Jason and Aphmau got married in Disney World and they moved from an apartment to a single home. While waiting for her baby to be born, Aphmau and Jason watched a ton of UA-cam videos and were amazed that people could make a career out of it. Aphmau decided that she would start a UA-cam channel and Jason could help with the technical side of things. After Aphmau gave birth to her first child Joseph she decided to start up her own UA-cam channel. The channel was originally called ChallengeAcceptedInc with her husband Jason and her two high school friends Castor and Satiel who she stayed in touch with through MMOs. The main focus of the channel was to have fun and plays games such as Minecraft, Saints Row, Awesomenauts and any other games they enjoyed playing. Satiel, Castor, and Aphmau would mostly play the games while Jason dealt with the post production part of the videos. Sadly, over time some members of the channel left. The first to leave was Satiel, which was apparently due to personal reasons. After Satiel left, the channel was rebranded and renamed as Aphmau’s channel. Recently Castor also left the group after abandoning his own UA-cam channel a few months ago after moving to Seattle. Currently, he is still involved with Aphmau’s channel and helps her write scripts and can be seen in some of her newer videos.
4. Aphmau’s channel name and her Minecraft name comes from a character in a Final Fantasy XI expansion. Also as quick bonus facts, Aphmau’s channel was created on August 13th, 2012 and over time she has amassed a whopping 2 million subscribers and over 750 million views at the time of me making this video. She also has a second channel called Aphmau Vlogging which she created in 2015. On this channel she uploads vlogs of herself and her family.
5. Mini Facts:
- Currently Aphmau and Jason live somewhere in Washington with their two kids Joseph and Julia.
- Aphmau and Jason have known eachother for around 11 years and have been married for 4 years.
- Aphmau is only 4 feet and 10 inches tall!
- Everyone in Aphmau’s family has a name that starts with the letter J. There’s Jessica, Jason, Joseph, Julia, and their cat Johnny.
- Aphmau used to run a server called Iron & Coal which was apart of their popular Pixelmon series. Sadly, the server had to be shut down because Aphmau gave birth to her son, Joseph, and couldn’t work on the server and her UA-cam channel full time.
