I remember when this dance movement came into the club scene around the early 2000. The roots were in Australia. It was called Melbourne Shuffle and came from their underground hard dance/trance clubs. But I think LFMAO pushed this dance in mainstream and now 20 years later you see so much Shuffle dance moves in EDM music videos.
It was actually in the 90's in Australia, I recall us first doing underage at a club in 1992 (I was 16). It was that EXACT version except it was called called Skanking. It was a staple here and I definitely saw a comeback in around 2000. When I first saw this in 2011 then I shocked the shit out of my kids/teens by doing it to perfection. Probably one of my best efforts at trolling them 😂
