But I can see why Joe Wright wanted him to be Mr. Darcy: when he is trying to seduce Marie, he deepens his voyce, his face changes and so his body language; she doesn't stand a chance but to yearn for him... Good looking boy and a superb actor.
Honestly, because of his portrayal of Mr. Darcy that I came to love Pride and Prejudice. Since I came from another country, English literature is something new to me. However, after watching this 2005 version of P&P, I am captivated by the story plot, characterization, and everything, but I prefer Elizabeth of 1996 more than 2005 and both Mr. Darcy in the two versions are excellent.
Too accurate a performance, from men I've known, to like it... but Paloma Baeza's performance, when she finally sees Felix's true colours... is so heartbreaking, timeless, ultimate, Oscar-worthy, unforgettable. I could watch it a thousand times.
