i’m a Filipina and what I know about Marcelito Pomoy is that he is not classically-trained nor has ever received any kind of voice lessons. this is just raw talent which he developed on his own, for the love of music.
Thank you for your comment. Have you seen my most recent KZ reaction video I just posted?
Your are jealous lady . If u can't speak good of anybody then keep your opinions to yourself ..thank you
Thankyou, Melinda, for your words of clarification have placed Marcelito even higher in my esteem for his ornate and gorgeous singing talent. His "The Prayer" sill never diminish in my musician's brain. (Jazz guitar)

So many incredibly talented singers from the Philippines.

@@maggiereneemusic, Hello my favorite reactor. I would like to suggest a singer from Brazil. He sings songs from the like of Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion. His name is GABRIEL HENRIQUE. I first saw songs of his songs in a contest he did and later found out he has his own YT channel. Other reactors have looked at his songs. The singer can do some crazy high notes even maybe a whistle note like Dimash Kudaibergen my favorite singer. Please look at Gabriel's MY HEART WILL GO ON or RUN TO YOU.

It's completely real, it's not lip sync, it's him singing, it's just a talent he has
The simplicity of the music accompaniment is unlike Celine Dion's or Andrea Bocelli's orchestra adds to the purity of his voice. Not too many foreign listening audience know how he developed his singing style without professional training was purely his own, inspired by Celine Dion he idolizes. Marcelito is a Philippine national treasure in the art. And I am a proud Filipino fan. God bless you Marcelito.

He has no training, that’s what you call it super talent ...
Karaoke training lool This man is something special!
Even science of music cannot explain what Marcelitos doing..how he switch his voice, very flexible i think thats what they call a"GIFT" from God.
What's really really amazing is that Macelito doesn't have a formal musical training...
He was just practicing while working with his daily work before...
He's self taught. He lived on the streets. Music was his escape.

You should travel to the Philippines, the HAPPIEST PEOPLE ON EARTH!!! Walk the streets and you will wonder why there aren’t more Filipino superstars on the radio (yeah I’m showing my age)! he has audiographic memory where he can remember each detail o fa song so he can mimic them even though he cannot understand the lyrics. he can sing italian, spanish, chinese and korean in and addition to filipino and english
Thank you for your comment. Did you like my other 4 video reactions to Morissette and Marcelito?
Real audiographic memory.
What song did he sing in Korean and is there a video of it
If he can do this through self training, just imagine what he could do with professional training/coaching. He could be world-class, selling out the largest venues. He already sounds really good, but with a 2-3 year commitment at Julliard or similar training regimen, he could enter a stage with a renound name the likes of Luciano Pavarotti in just a few years following serious training and good management.
I agree
Fun fact: he self taught his self
Hai sir if you want to see him vedio that he sing you can search an american got talent he sing there a Italian song .he can sing also mandarine and spanish song his voice is a blessing becasue when he audition in the Philippine got talent he dont have training at that time but he sing a verry nice and clear ....that is the gift from god

Everybody has their talents. I love seeing the look on people's faces when he jumps from Celine Dion part to Bocelli.
He had absolutely no training at all. He lived on the street from age 7 until age 24, literally singing for his meals.

Really what amazing with Marcelito is he didn’t have formal classical training nor any singing/voice lesson like Dimash. He came from a poor background and taught himself how to sing by watching television, listening to radio and singing karaoke. Just imagine how better he can be if he had the proper training like you.
I’m really glad you did a proper analysis of his vocal techniques. As the saying goes, the only room that can’t be filled is the room for improvement. Marcelito is a great singer but can be greater if he gets the proper training.
Like most singers in the P.I.
Mari In Seattle yes that maybe true but some of them had vocal training before they competed and became known. Marcelito didn’t have even that.
Marcelito is Marcelito, Dimash is Dimash. They different people and both are good. Dimash practice more profecional lessons than Marcelito. Evry human has some talent. One use is a good way(Dimash), other use only amators way(Marcelito). And some people doesn't discover own talent. Marcelito is like Amira Willighagen. She was young when she was in Holland's Got Talend. After program she started profecional training vocal. Marcelito has talent and he should start profecional training.
xxx xxx I agree, but it’s easier to learn skills when you’re younger than as an adult. It’s difficult to rectify bad habits (in singing) than creating a new one. That’s why you get a great advantage of being trained in your younger years because you develop the proper techniques earlier. That’s what Dimash got because he has both parents as classical artists to guide him. Marcelito, on the other hand, didn’t even have the presence of his parents when he was growing up and have to help himself by working odd jobs to support himself to survive. Then he taught himself how to sing and developed his skills without the guides that Dimash had. So I admire him more because of that. I believe, if someone is given the same trainings and privileges like Dimash, he can be as good as Dimash.
@@joelramirez8388 Yes. It's live. Dimash had more happiness, but he had practice a lot. Dimash isn't only practice he has natural potential. It's use all by him and now he's compleate artist. Marcelito had other way and it's all. Both have talent.
This is the most technical critique of MP I've seen. However, your giggly reactions when you heard the celine part, andrea bit and the transitions were baseline expressions of all who've seen him for the first time. Love your smile as well. Keep it up! Watching from Melbourne

@@maggiereneemusic You are the ONLY person to classify MP's high range as Counter Tenor. To everyone else, its Falsetto. Maggie..Marcelito was a street kid & homeless since he was 7yo and hearing & listening secretly was his escape and only training. He is self taught musically and the Italian language. He is a survivor and a fighter. Follow his life story...really touching and sad...Kudos to Him

This guy, no matter what you say of his tones, not doing this, not doing that - he STILL was incredible to watch on America Got Talent, just amazing.
I agree...
Really .. I just Wow
Always will be haters out there tell them to show how much people can do that so calm and easy going he must be alien 😂😂😂😂❤❤
Very limited English, talks through an interpreter, so to sing in two languages he doesn’t know is amazing. AND HE IS SITTING DOWN!
He’s English is wide - second language on Philippines, now his Italian is impeccable me and he does NOT speak the language !! 😆
He is a poor guy before he don't know how to read and even write thats why he had an interpreter. He also taught himself other songs to sing by just listening to the orginal singer and repeat it and sing it.
US occupied Philippines for many years. English their second language
He is not like perfectly like you. But English is just a second language in our country. And you think you are perfect, well...try to speak bicol dialic without interpreter
It may be a second language, but he needed an interpreter when he appeared on America’s got talent.
I don't know what's more awesome, listening to the beautiful talent of Marcelito Pomoy or watching the beautiful face and voice of the talented woman of this page....💗💗💗
Thanks! Hope to see you on my LIVE stream shortly?
It says so much on how the human voice can be so touching. Something so beautiful as a gift like this can only be granted to us by a divine creator. God is good!
He doesn’t have any professional training. He trained himself. He was homeless from the age of 8till he was 18. He lived the street . He discovered himself can sing women’s voice when at the age of 18. Through practice he was able to master singing 2 voices. To be honest, he doesnt the terms you are saying. For a singer who can sing like that is a phenomenal. Try react to Power of Love also by Celine Dion. Thank you.
Thanks for the info! 😁
@@maggiereneemusic This is a singer who has mastered the ability to mimic precisely the sounds of great singers. In this case, Bocelli and Dion. Since he can't speak English with a French-Canadian accent, nor can he speak Italian, it would be difficult to change anything about his performance. The fact that he can mimic these people exactly is his talent.

This is so far the most technical reaction I heard on Marcelito Pomoy's performance and I do appreciate how you analyzed his singing. Thank you for the nicest words for Marcelito Pomoy. So proud being a Filipino.
Thank you for your lovely comment!😀❤️
Oh Marceleto, I can't get enough of you . There's no words to say just how massively talented you are I just love love love to hear you sing, wow!!
That face after so many having that same expression of amazement..priceless.
When he was on America's Got Talent season 2 backstory explained how he could sing the male in the female. Through a series of events his mother and father and he had to grow up on the street in the Philippines. He said that he would be so lonely that he learn to sing in both registers. He learned to sing in both registers to keep himself company.
Growing up as an orphan on the streets when he should've been in school, the only language Marcelito is really fluent in is his native Philippine Tagalog. However listening carefully to the words phonetically, he is famous for being able to imitate any singer, man or woman, in any language. Listen to him sing Despacito for Spanish. I've also heard him sing in Chinese and even do a great imitation of Michael Jackson complete with all the dance moves!
Thanks for the info. Will you join me for the Premiere of José José today?
The Philippines seems to bring out so many amazing singers. Thank you for helping me appreciate this singer even more. His vocal switches are so fast, I wonder how he can even breathe sometimes.
Marcelito Pomoy has a natural voice with that and I love to hear it anyway and he did difficult voices in vice versa,, wow I'm amaze!
Thank you for your lovely comment. Hope to see you tomorrow at my new Premiere?
He is self taught. He lived in the streets alone when he was a child.
Thanks for the info!😁
That is awesome! I search for him quite a bit and always listen and replay him singing the Prayer over and over again! It always feels like I'm hearing it for the first time! You realize thst he was homeless in the Philippines and started singing at 7yrs and not until 18 yrs of age he did realize that he could sing high notes as well. People had encouraged him to sing and join contests but didn't feel he was good at all. With that said, he had no formal training as he was so poor and living on the streets. He took gog like the one you showcased to get paid 50 pesos (= to $1 if the conversion rate is good and that is very good although it could go as high as 55 pesos to a dollar) just enough to eat but then go back to sleeping on the streets for the night. Thank God he joined Philippines Got Talent and won so now he can sing , eat and sleep! Great story to go with that great voice! Thank you for covering it! I love your show and just subscribed! Be safe and healthy out there!

It’s pure hard work and then talent. The term talent is incredibly overrated, because people don’t realise how much hard work this takes. By saying an accomplishment is pure talent you’re diminishing the hard work and achievement of the singer.

I'm honestly even more impressed at the switching between English and Italian. Also - the Italian pronunciation sounds *great* (- I don't speak Italian, so I cannot comment on how accurate it actually is - but it SOUNDS great.)
the Italian pronunciation it's very accurate even though in a few cases he used the Spanish one, but it's ok, still way better than other singers 👍👍👍
He doesn't speak Italian at all, but I've seen Italians react to this and they say his pronunciation is very good though he pauses for a breath in the middle of an Italian word at one point. He's not very confident in English, probably because he didn't have any schooling until he was a teenager. If you watch the beginning when he says to click below to subscribe, he immediately looks off to the side as if to ask "Did I say that right?"
I think he's Italian is quite good because of his familiarity with Spanish. I don't speak Italian, but I'm very familiar with it and I could read it quite well (the intonation might be a bit troublesome), because of my mother tongue and because I can speak a bit of Spanish.
English is also popular in the Philippines, but he didn't speak it back then, despite the familiarity. He does a good job indeed.
Proud Filipino here... Filipino really love singing..😁😁😍😍❤️❤️❤️

Great reaction Maggie! Marcelito is an amazing self taught singer, I'd almost consider it mimicry. The "doble kara", or "double voice", is something a lot of Filipino singers can do, but Marcelito is by far the best.
Hopefully you'll be able to work in Hua Chenyu, the runner up on Singer 2018, the year after Dimash was runner up. His singing dynamics, creativity, emotional connection, and arranging of music has turned him into a star in China. Please listen to "Child" first. It is stunning!

Thank you for your lovely comment and for watching my video until the end. I appreciate it. 😁❤🙏🏻
I watched Marcelito sing this song, it's amazing voice. 1 in a billion talent
Thank you for your comment. Did you like my other 3 video reactions to Morissette and Marcelito?
@@maggiereneemusic Just watched this one and going to see the other from Mr Pomoy, but am still puzzled about a "Melissa" on your reply in the Morissette Akin video. Thumbs up for this one.

Thank you too
... See his first audition video at America's got talent and the follow ups... There are four in the one video…
I understand he was a street kid and cleaned out chicken cages for a living and sang to the chickens… This is not a joke… He is Filipino, and besides his singing career he has a beautiful family… And yes he is self-taught… I am going to research any interviews with him I'm sure they will be uplifting… God bless him and his family for bringing us this beautiful voice… God bless America… Merry Christmas...🇺🇸
Happy Holidays 🎅🎄🎁 and thank you for your comment! 😊 Hope you enjoyed a new reaction video I just posted?
