Its most likely cbtc testing since r179s still need to be equipped with cbtc and they have to it now so that A,C,J and Z trains can be equipped with cbtc along there lines
@@Phineascharles10 it's to test it for the upcoming 8th ave CBTC, They also do CBTC testing on one of the deck tracks in ENY yard. So it's possible that an R179 will pop up on the M in the future. They have been testing R179s on queens blvd for about a year already.
Interesting, don't think we've seen the R179s operate in CBTC mode before
0:40 very fast acceleration
I like how people see it not in service and still go up to it smh
real
Nah word
Cause people don’t have a sense of direction
It’s to be fitted with CBTC right?
It already has CBTC fitted a long time ago
You can see the green lights blinking, so CBTC is active.
@@BigManTransitEnthusiast low-key I did not know r179s had CBTC installed
Anyone know why they keep running this single 179 set over Queens Blvd?
Could possibly be for CBTC testing so they can run R179s on the M that’s my only assumption

It doesn't even have a route on it and people think the doors will open?
so it went to Jamaica Yard?
Basically, yes R179 can't especially run on the the R line
