@@kitemuriwainz9819 I never did the kitesurfing, only windsurfing. With my windsurfgear I can surf comfortably up to 25 knots. Up to 30 knots, I'm in the survival modus. Above 30 knots, I will be filming from the side haha.
@@kitemuriwainz9819 I have found memories of the solitude of Oriti Beach near Invercargill when I lived there in 1985. My home spot is Brouwersdam in the Netherlands. On a good day there are as much as 500 people out kiting. Yours a very powerful spot because of the solitude of the Tasman. How many kite surfers on a good windy day out?
@@leijenburgh01 Ahh yes, down near Invercargill would've been very quiet, especially in 85! At the main carpark of Muriwai beach there would be between 5-15 kites out at any one time, on a good windy day. We drive on the beach 1km away from the carpark, so there are usually just a few of us locals kiting together. Sometimes on a very busy day there will be 8-10 kites up, hahaha. We definitely are VERY lucky with our uncrowded spot.
Yeah, our timing wasn't great. Probably should've waited for another clear patch, but was so turbulent, didn't seem like a good plan after days and days of kiting epic conditions.
Nicely handled! We had the same thing happen on Saturday in wellington 50knot squall came through and fucked a few of us over hahaha. Had to punch out as was getting dragged to a beach with no sand/beach as it was high tide lol.
"It's all fun and games until someone looses an eye" 😅😅 Yeah, we are lucky at Muriwai having so much open space. There's no way i would've gone out in that wind with rocks, powerlines, trees etc downwind.
Nice action! Finally some decent heights on those jump xD
Had my 7m deathloop on 55 knots in january, that´s where the fun begins!
😅😅😅
Fully depowered on a 7 meter. 🤙🤙🤙. Looked like fun!! Boarder and kite buggier from Texas. Thanks.🤙🤙
Heaps of fun....until those extra few gusts made it sketchy. Haha.
Cheers.
Crazy, 50 knots :-))). Respect!
Yeah, was nuts! We always want more wind....until we occasionally have too much. Haha

Was wondering if you guys got out or just gapped it!

@@kitemuriwainz9819 We we're headed back out, saw the squall coming and said, "Yeah, nah. Enough of this."
@@blackened160 Good call
@@kitemuriwainz9819 Yeah wind was mental.. Amazing how different is was to some other big days. Had to pull the pin earlier in the day, was too much.
Yeah strange aye.
It seemed like there were good spells and nasty spells. We got the end of a goody and the start of a baddy. Haha
Yeah... don´t do this at home...
