ENDOTRACHEAL TUBE CUFF PRESSURE CHECK

Part of maintaining an ETT in a patient is the cuff's pressure check. This involves performing a minimal leak technique (MLT) and minimal occluding volume (MOV). Both of these procedures are performed to determine the correct and safe amount of air contained in the tracheal cuff to maintain a seal but not too much creating excessive pressure that would occlude blood flow.....especial arterial...YIKES
