Fast forward to today I literally thought about that one anime I saw as a kid and wondered if it was real or not, if it was something I dreamed about or if it was something I actually watched. I remembered that the girl had pink hair and a scarf and for some god forsaken reason i thought she had the ability to control her scarf and I spent such a long time trying to find it. When I gave up all hope this song started playing and I was like ??? cause I let JudyPhonic's song play in the background and I was like oh my GOD.

Jesus this song is like a punch to the face for nostalgia. When I was in my freshman year of high school I listened to this song a lot. I was raised to be kind of awkward and was really lonely. At some point, I started opening up a little bit more and talking to people in a much more relaxed and comfortable way. Hearing that line, "a glow so friendly one I don't even deserve to get" at the age of 20, I suddenly felt that connection between my 14-15 year old self because even though so much time has passed and I am in a much different life situation now, I still feel similarly. Some struggles are entirely new, too. I find a lot of peace in communicating with every version of myself as time passes. "Thank my old self for believing" felt like a message carried over from the past. There was something really soothing about seeing how far I've come, and also being aware of what strengths I had when I was younger and how to hold onto those dreams and not let them die. It is so easy with the passing of time to start seeing the world differently and over time I lost the quality of "hope" I used to pray for back then, listening to these songs.

I found you very recently after looking around for some kagerou project music but I had always been bothered by the synthesized voices of the vocaloids. Finding your covers of them has been a real treat for me to finally be able to listen to the songs without feeling a little unsettled by the singing (My friends also don't complain about the songs anymore either so you are doing something right!). You keep doing you and I will stick around to see what you make for us!
