The brilliance of this song is song is it outlines how ridiculously stupid it is to have prejudice about anything.. especially something ppl can’t change. He is an amazing musician.
Tim hates this song and the traction it got. It was written after he got a lot of backlash for the use of the N word in another song. Young and arrogant Tim wrote this out of spite.
@@sfbayareagirl if you really loved me, is the song you are looking for. He was singing about how things got together and used the N word and RnB as one of his examples. This lead to a backlash and he subsequently wrote Prejudice in the wake of that.
So true Felicity. I'd like to let the presenters know that Tim Minchin is a hugely successful professional comedian. He has won the top comedy awards at festivals all over the world. Comedy highlights social issues. It gets the message across very effectively. Tim wrote & composed the global hit stage musical "Matilda". He is a brilliant musician & comedian. ~ x L
Thanks both you guys for your review. Sheer brlliance how he leads thinking one way, yet all the words he says are true and correct. Genius to do this and the style and way in which he gets us all thiniing better for everyone. I truly enjoyed your reactions and look forward to hearing/seeing more. Cheers
Great reaction. Another fun one is Lullaby. In Rock n Roll Nerd he discusses his appearance. Tim did say at one point he just put all the things he can do into one act do you are correct. He is an amazing pianist, songwriter and lyricist as well and finally an actor.
Other songs by Tim you'll probably enjoy: If I Didn't Have You Confessions Rock & Roll Nerd Storm Not Perfect Dark Side (Awesome Version) Cont. White Wine in the Sun You Grew On Me
Yep, I love all of those, but my favourites are "Fuck the Pope" and "Come home Cardinal Pell" You may not know that Pell was an archbishop convicted of child rape and then cried that he was too unwell to travel back to Australia to face court...in other words..a bastard pedophile protected by the Catholic church. x
THANK U GOD. THE POPE SONG & COME HOME CARDINAL PELL should all b heard. And a great song of his that not many people seem 2 know is I CANT FIX U. But IF I DIDNT HAVE U is also a fave. Who doesn't love a song about statistics 😉😁
It’s more about the personal prejudice of the listener. Jumping to a conclusion about what we believe is offensive linguistically and presetting our expectations based on that.
He gets you to enjoy classical piano by using humor while including a social message. Totally awesome. Not many people pick up the Ginga (ending it with an a) part.

@@deviouskris3012 Oh I know. It’s still an excellent song. Quite liking his newer less comedic stuff these days.
@@deviouskris3012 ah, I never knew. What’s the other song? Or is it out of circulation?

@@deviouskris3012 thx. I actually thought better of digging it up. I’d rather not hear my new favorite person doing anything I might object to.
Love your reaction. Tim is so funny and witty. But also an insanely good musician. You guys both have such infectious smiles.

GREAT reaction. His musical talent is amazing btw. He played Judas in the musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, and was fabulous in that as well.
Just to be clear ginger nuts are a ginger flavored cookie in Australia lol
same in my country
*Biscuit
And they're trash
Ginger Nut Biscuits first went on sale in the UK in the 1840's and are popular (like Digestives and Hob Nobs), for 'dunking' in tea or coffee!
Great reaction.

the song is about prejudice hence the name. At the first part he is implying different word. thats the joke....

Just found your channel. Great reaction. I'm subbed.
He wrote the music & lyrics for Matilda The Musical (West End & Broadway) and Groundhog Day the Musical
Tim Minchum wrote the stage play "Matilda" still in London's West end
He wrote the musical "Matilda" based on a Raoul Dahl stroy
I love brilliance!

Ginger spells that awful N word as well. That's the genius of Tim.... Ginger is Oz for a red head....
I don't think tey got it fully. Some people are just not good at spelling I guess.
Did this channel actually NOT get the letters spelling n-i-g-g-e-r OR g-i-n-g-e-r and the stupidity of prejudice???
