Love your channel. I often use your channel to cross reference some of my theories and practices. I’m always looking for new ways to evolve and learn. Being a student of life and not above getting feedback or correction. I do all the recommendations you have mentioned, along with placing my boundaries while interviewing. I’ve reached a point where I don’t have to apply for jobs, I only need to update my profile availability if I’m on the market. I’m definitely one of the Nannie’s you mentioned, I get multiple offers on the table or on the spot.

That is great to hear! We love it when nannies are successful, can set boundaries and easily find quality jobs because of their professionalism. Way to go.

I’ve been offered 2 positions, but then they both ended up not hiring a nanny at all for different reasons. I’m on my third offer now and just waiting for the new baby to be born to have a trial day! Feeling a little discouraged but at least I know I’m interviewing well, and my nanny family will come!

I really attribute your videos to helping me. I have done tons of childcare but don’t have a lot of professional nanny experience, so this interview process was so new!

Consider yourself lucky that they fell apart before you started. I know it can be frustrating but it is likely for the best. Keep applying and the right job will come along.

I always get offered the job and then they decline when I send them a sample work agreement and information about legal pay. I can’t even begin to explain how frustrating this is. No one sees this as a real job, and get offended at my audacity to ask for basic benefits and taxes.

I am sorry this keeps happening to you. Have you looked into working with a nanny agency? They will make sure all of this is taken care of and ensure the parents understand the importance.

@@TheNannySolution there are no local agencies and all the national ones in the us don’t make parents pay taxes or sick pay.
I just wish that we could get the message out their that we need to be paid legally

@@sadiekelly6372 Have you checked out APNA (Association of Premier Nanny Agencies) and the list of agencies? I know there are lots of National US agencies that do ensure families pay nannies legally. theapna.org/apna-member-agencies/#!directory/map
Or have a look at the International Nanny Association for some support. nanny.org/

Wondered if you have thoughts or video on the bye bye times when mum leaves for work...??
I find distraction works really well if I just take the child somewhere else and mom just sneaks out the door, ...I suggest that... so kids don't cry. ...rather than grand hug and goodbye so otherwise the baby will cry or the toddler might cry ...though crying is very short-lived but it's just nice for everyone that's a mom sneaks out the door.

    • @TheNannySolution

I personally feel that it is important for children to know that when mom and dad leave, they also come home. Saying goodbye quickly (parents not hanging around or staying if the child cries) teaches the child to be confident that mom and dad will come home. Depending on the age of the child, the parents can tell their child where they are going and when they will be home. The may still cry for a short time but ultimately it will create a child who feels secure, supported and protected.

I am a retired child care provider. I have both worked in daycare centers as well as in-home nanny. Most of the career was as a nanny. I took child development classes. I believe that a parent should say goodbye even though their child may cry. It teaches them trust when the parents say goodbye. It also teaches them when their parents leave they do come back. I am very good way to teach this is to play peekaboo. Then they learn object permanence.

I’ve had a lot of job gaps due to being in college and trying to pick a major. How do I approach this?
Ohhh yeah I can’t change my personality sometimes. Also I am quiet so I don’t interrupt the family in the interview
I’m on the spectrum so I don’t have a high EQ, and can’t help that. but I’m great with the kids and I have many years of experience

    • @TheNannySolution
      @TheNannySolution  Рік тому +1

When you are in college it is easy to explain job gaps. Parents understand you are studying and therefor do not have constant employment.
You could put your personality traits in your cover letter. Something like...I can be seen as quiet but when I am with the kids my personality shines.
