Now were talking rally... Love that snorting growl of the over square V-4 SAAB, of course I'll always love the three cylinder two strokes. This is just what you said you might do, created a SAAB video... Tack!!!
There used to be orange groves in North Pinellas county with these narrow dirt trails through them having lots of sharp right-angle turns. They were a perfect spot for going fast in my '67 Monte Carlo. I did end up going backwards between the trees a couple times, but I was lucky and never actually hit a tree. Best sounding car I ever drove!
Growing up rallying around gravel country roads in coastal Norway in both the '67 Monte Carlo and V4 was something very, very special! - The Saab's were absolutely _outstanding_ when it came to driving fast in winter conditions, sooo reliable and easy to control! . . . . . . Whatever _happened_ to the swedes . . . . . . ?
Reliable? Gimme a break. The V4 ran the gearbox bearings because the casing was alloy rather than steel. Good body and suspension, engine blew up, inner driveshaft joints let go. SAAB used owners as unpaid testers. Essentially a heap of shit.
The V4 had major mechanical defects; the inner drive shaft joints which failed, and alloy gearbox casing, which coupled with extra torque from the 4-stroke engine, caused the casing to distort and thus ran the bearings. SAAB should stuck to the two-stroke. Jack, the Japan Alps Brit
@@Lspin3 I could get out and push it faster than that goober! You should Google the Australian wrc rally series and see what a real rally car runs like!
The fuck does WRC have anything to do with this? They aren’t even comparable or in the same category. This is traditional swedish folkrally with old cars from the 60s, you don’t want to wreck these cars just because so that’s why they wont push the limits.

I feel physical pain when I see a 96 crash... This car is my dream.
Hope you can afford one someday!

以前9000csTalladega と9-3に乗った!でも 昔から96v4MonteCarlo がほしかった。
A rally with Saab V4/2-stroke must bee two days competition, cause its soo slow.. 😂 (far away from airplane)
Yeah bro, that's why it won against Mercedes and Lancia or Porsche with about the double amount of BHP.

I've seen gocarts with 2hp lawnmower engine's go faster than these things.

These were made in the 60's and my grand father had one, he made it to the 105 mph, it wasn't even tuned, just well carburized
