- Counter current and Co-current configurations have been assessed, mathematically modelled and simulated on MATLAB. Check out the question related to the heat exchanger here:

you're so intelligent! Great video
great video. well done
Great video.. can you make video on dynamic simulation with 2 phase HTF like condenser/evaporator
Can similar method be used for sheel and tube heat exchanger
I increased the 'n' value from 10 to 20 to increase the resolution of the model, and noticed that it quickly creates some extreme zig-zags and severely breaks from the linear profile. Is this some sort of instability in the model? Why would this happen?
don't you use a correction factor for counter flow? or when is correction factor applied?
Yeah we can use a correction factor for a lot of things while designing a conservative model. We are not assuming anything like that here...
Hi, is dead time included in this solution for case 1? And how can we include the transfer coefficient (h) in this solution? Can you convey the resources you take advantage of by e-mail? Please
Hey there!
Is dead time included?
Ans: dead time is used while modeling system output wrt input. You can easily visualize dead time when we run the code. Our cold side fluid does not immediately heat up in the outlet.
Have we included h?
Ans: The value of U accounts for both shell side and tube side h
@@chemicalengineeringfriends217 So we can say that this solution is suitable for dead time, right?
You'll do great! How to edit code to make counter flow
You can watch the video and do that
It’s amazing boss , can we further get into contact for a spacific task
Sure email us!😊
Is there a way to code this for any inputs ? Changing the constants dosent seem to work
Hey Edward! What type of inputs are we talking about? And which constants did you change?
I'm talking about different heat exchange experiments. The code dosent seem to work if I change say the radius' to smaller values or if I reduce L below 40
@@edwardsavage2019 Actually we are using finite difference method in which we approximate derivatives. Reduce the number of nodes for lower values in length. For example, L = 40 reduce the nodes to around 5 or 6. It seems to blow up because of the denominator term in lines 41, 42, 44 and 45 at low times. Try printing time to observe difference in dynamics. Hope this helps!
Last question, how would you change the code to work for counter flow ?
How to download matlab software?
You need licence with institution id
why do you say dTdt instead of dT/dt in mathlab code..................thanks in advance
Because division is a mathematical operator and MATLAB would assume that dT or dt is a variable, which would return an error
Great video. Can you email this code please?
Check video description!😊
Can you please send me the code
Please Email us. The Email ID is in the description box.
@@chemicalengineeringfriends217 Hello, I kindly ask you the favor to send me the code to my email, please, I'd be pretty greatful with you nikomako@live.com
