Some Amerinds elected not to go to the New World, they stayed in their old home and became the Paleo-Siberians. I am glad they are still alive and well, and keep teaching Itelmen in schools.
@@sampokhan6067 Entire Kamchatka Native people populations are diminishing every year. According to 2020 population report, 2500 Itelmens existing in late 20 centuries.
Wow, holy crap he looks remarkably like my uncle and a little like my great grandmother. I am AniYunwiya/AniKituhwagi (Cherokee) from Oklahoma. I wonder what haplogroup the Itelmens are and how closely we are related genetically?
They actually have the same haplogroup as NORTH Koreans, Tibetan, Mongolian. even though the ancestors of the cherokee migrated across the bering strait. Their descendants come all the way from India.
Independent and Conscientious idea Actually they’re not the same as Native Americans. The Non-turkic Tribes that live in the Far East of Russia are related to them. :)
@@1exxy628 I feel same way they are not same as Native American Indians. Their drum looks so different than Native American Indian drums. They are not genetically related to Native American Indians.
The peoples of the Americas are a result of the combining of three main populations: East Eurasians (East Asians), North Eurasians, and West Eurasians (ancient East European and steppe peoples). There is also some slight admixture from Melanesia. The peoples of the Americas are somewhat like a pan-Eurasian population living in other continents.
@Lisa B Kets are not related to the Navajo. I am well versed in Siberian Indigenous peoples, and my studies on Ket are going... rather slow. Do you have any resources?
@Independent and Conscientious idea No Turkic people entered the area much later and are not the same group who crossed the Bering strait thousands of years ago. But they are still very similar.
"Torova" -- "Greetings" in Itelmen. A good job was done in photographing their clothing, dances, and musical instruments, but what about their language. There are fewer than 20 speakers of Itelmen left. When someone goes into Fotosentr to buy any of the photographs, are they speaking Itelmen, no they are speaking Russian. That is the reason why Itelmen is disappearing, it is being replaced by Russian as the language of currency. To keep Itelmen vibrant, it needs to be used.
Hello I just saw this today 11/17/2014. Mr. Tim Upham are you Itelmen? I am very interested in what knowledge you have of them. My great Grandfather left Kamchatka to US in about 1870 and he is Itelmen. He made his living at sea all his life. I know one of his brothers was executed by Stalin's forces in 1930. Anyway if you have any information I would be very interested. thanks
Change your title they are inuit. Not Indian. And the "Indians" are native American. And just fyi the native Americans came from Russia so did the Alaska native #doresearch
The Native Americans are so diverse that they're different from each other as a Chimu Native from Ecuador/Peru originates from a Coastal warm/tropical Climate where not much clothing is necessary while an Inuit Native of Alaska/Canada/Greenland originates from an Arctic Climate where a lot of clothing is mandatory. Even the Languages have nothing in common with the Languages of East Asia. The Native Americans never migrated as that's been a bullshit theory to justify the European Colonization and Genocide of America's Indigenous People as well as feeding Supremacists. They have always been Indigenous to the Americas. Eurocentrism and afrocentrism are dying, good riddance.
I agree that Eurocentrism and Afrocentrism should go away. But the fact that all humans migrated, and have one origin is obvious. The fact is that Amerindians came to the Americas first, and so much earlier than anyone else

As a matter of fact, they don't. Itelmen has fewer than 8 native speakers.
@@maxi6457 Fewer than 8?! There are not many but I think there are more than that...

I thought that part of the Paleo-Siberians became Amerinds, that Paleo-Siberians came first.

@@1exxy628 Well, to my knowledge Dakota proper and some Turkic languages have common words ( 200 or so). Who migrated where long time ago isn't clear.

They are not genetically related to Native American Indians.
So now I know why they say that Native Americans came from Asia. I am proud to have Native American blood running through my veins!!
This is the true origin of the Native Americans: the Native Siberians. Same exact people, no difference.
Native Americans have both Asian and Siberian lineage.
