A little trick to having whole milk during snow. I’m from North MS and I know the milk and bread wipe out at the thought of snow BUT, go to your baking aisle at Walmart, grab some of the BOXED milk. I keep this on hand in case I run out of refrigerated milk. No need to refrigerate until it’s opened. A lady was buying some one day, asked if I’d ever tried it, I hadn’t, she said she wouldn’t use anything else for cooking. It’s great.
Have always wanted to try it so I've put a qt in my cart🙏. Walmart also has the best croissants in their bakery dept., 6 in a container $4.98. I make my own egg & cheese croissants that are better than Dunkin.😬
For Egg Roll in a Bowl; we add the following extras: 1/2 thinly slice sauted sweet onion, a bit of extra shredded carrots to the tri slaw mix, some slice snow peas, green scallions, and top with some chow main noodles for a bit of crunch. We also add some Hoisin sauce to the soy, garlic, ginger and sesame oil mixture.
I learned something about scrambled eggs that I thought was interesting too. I was at an upscale restaurant where the chef not only whisked the eggs thoroughly but he poured them through a strainer to remove any remaining tiny pieces of egg that didn’t get completely mixed in. He said it makes the eggs smoother and prevents customers from seeing or eating tiny egg bits. I thought that was very fancy and I started doing it whenever I scramble eggs or make omelets! 🥚
We make this regularly! We do serve it over jasmine rice most of the time. I buy the ginger in the jar/squeeze bottle and it adds such a great flavor. Also our store has an angel hair slaw so I like to mix that with the regular bag for a little different texture. Can’t wait to add peanuts - that’s genius!!
I have been making eggroll in a bowl for several years. I use the Pre-shredded cabbage, ground pork, soy sauce, egg, red pepper flakes, black pepper and garlic powder. I don't use salt because the soy sauce has enough. If I want a heartier meal I also throw in some sweet corn, teryaki sauce and some cooked rice and garnish with Wonton strips.

It used to be one way I could get my kids to eat some veggies when they were young and not big veggie fans 😂 We added sesame seeds, cilantro (I know not everyone loves it) and wonton strips to the top (I found them in the aisle with salad dressing near croutons, etc) Adding the peanuts was a great idea to add that crunch!

Anyhoo back to wild grain box, I told my 82 year old mom and 87 year old dad to check this out. Some variations on egg roll in a bowl that we enjoy are adding a drizzle of sriracha mayo on top, adding over rice or even in a wrap with the Sriracha Mayo drizzle. So good!
I make the egg roll in a bowl about once a month. We really like it! We add yum yum sauce on top. I also add ground ginger in a tube when making. Ramen would really add so many carbs!

Definitely agree that wonton strips are a good addition. You could also use sesame sticks. Fresh broccoli, fresh green beans or edemame (you can use frozen and prepare it per the instructions)are good veggie additions. Any of these add ins help bulk it up and add textures especially if you choose to forego rice or noodles.

I'm trying a new recipe tomorrow from 40 Aprons called Egg Roll in a Bowl with Creamy Chili Sauce. The sauce is 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1-2 tablespoons sriracha or hot sauce and one large pinch of salt. I've made egg roll in a bowl before, but not with a chili sauce drizzled on top.
What about using an English cucumber for the pasta chicken salad? This kind of cucumber doesn’t have any seeds and it’s a little more firm than a regular cucumber. 🙂

7:48 I make eggroll in a bowl with chicken breast and shrimp. I chop the chicken really small and cook it first and keep the juices in the pan for the extra flavor. I add everything you added , but shrimp eggrolls are my fave. I get frozen precooked salad shrimp from Kroger. It’s wild caught and very affordable. Add it last and it heats really fast. I also get the crunchy chow mein noodles and sprinkle just a few on too for that crunch that Brian was talking about from the wonton strips. Delish!

I've made this as my egg roll filling for years, but I use a roll of breakfast sausage. Mild or hot. It is soooo good! You can throw in mushrooms and a can of bean sprout and/ or water chestnuts.

But there were so many great vegetables and I remembered them when I was at the store. I like trying different foods but it can get expensive so I want to make it myself. Of course normally if I had gotten an eggplant, I would have made Eggplant Parmesan!😋 But Mediterranean food is supposed to be so good for you and I want to try my hand at it! 😁 You always have the best recipes and your food looks so inviting! When I started watching you several years ago, you did most of the cooking alone. Then Mr B came on the scene and I wasn't sure about him at first.
