The resolver.... my favorite electronic device.
Trying to learn how it works, while retrofitting an old CNC machine, is what led me to your channel many years ago. Buying an old oscilloscope and function generator, following your voice while hooking it up, looking at the waveforms and switching to x-y mode was definitely my favorite electronics experience.
While I never ended up completely finishing the retrofit, I still enjoy learning from you when I have a spare moment.
Thank you for your uploads. I know they are for your family, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who looks forward to sharing what we have learned from you, with our own families.
Take care mate. Hope all is well.

Thrown out a heap of Singer Kearfott resolvers over the years, can't find any gear that uses them now days.

Resolvers are still used in hybrid/electric vehicles as they can handle extreme environments better than an optical or magnetoresistive absolute encoder.
I remember reading that the first large scale application of resolvers was in the hydraulic steering gear of large naval vessels where multiples of them were used to both control the hydraulic valves and transmit their position of the steering gear back to the helm.

Dear Sir! I am from Viet Nam. Our CNC machine about 25 years old. Now, this machine has the problem with drive DDS02.1. And H1 has error “32” (blind). Do you have any suggestion to solve this problem? Thank sir!
