“There was nothing to look forward to in the West for years…” You do realise that the video game crash you speak of was largely localised to North America, right? Whereas in the U.K. the industry flourished across home computers such as the C64, Amiga, Spectrum, etc…? We had *plenty* to look forward to throughout the 80s
I love all the work you put into this. It's a good look at the NES from a recent perspective, and the visuals are on point. I do think the industry needs to be talked about more when talking about how Nintendo saved it though. You mention the industry crash, but it was presented more as an Atari crash, and it doesn't say why it crashed. Just that there was a lot of competition, which wasn't exactly right, especially as there was way way more competition in the 90s, and even the 80s after the crash recovery. You say people were getting bored, but the "why" about their boredom is absolutely essential there when describing how Nintendo answered the problems. This is more a video about how far back the Nintendo product design philosophy goes back, and the problems/difficulties of the time from the user's perspective. It's a solid video with that goal, but with the goal of the title, I felt it didn't provide any specific difficulties to overcome, nor how the problems were solved. It left out the industry's perspective almost entirely. And it does things like talk about how the NES can't (couldn't?) work with LCDs when the topic is the 80s gaming industry, before there were LCD TVs. The topic just seemed to be something different than the title. Side note on the production side, maybe keep track of how much you say "of course" in future videos. Sometimes it's used when it doesn't make sense to say, and it's used noticeably often. Again, I liked the video from a perspective different than the title, and I loved the visual presentation, but that part stuck out to me in the writing every time it came up. Please don't think that I got an overall negative experience. I didn't at all. I wrote this up because it's so good, that certain aspects became more puzzling to me.
Thank you so much for this feedback! I should have focused more on the topic (which was the title) and worked around that. And yes, I will be more mindful of repeating the same words too often in the future. Feedback like this is critical to improve my videos in the future. I’m glad you still enjoyed it!
@@franciscoferreiravlogs Yes 😀 So we would put another game in so that it would keep the 1st game pressed down- I hardly had any issues with games not working due to getting creative 😂
Dragon Warrior is the game that first popularized JRPGs on console, not Final Fantasy. I was there day one for both games, and loved and still do love both. But Dragon Warrior was first. And it is pronounced Super Mario Brothers, not Super Mario Broze. I never once in my life heard anyone pronounce it broze until the last fifteen years. Please pronounce it the way that an 80s kid would. Anyway, nice video
Good quality video keep mass dropping these types of videos and you’ve found your niche.

Thats definitely a fair point. I should’ve been more careful to say the “United States” rather than the west. Thanks for that correction.

we used to place 2 carts in the nes to make it work
Never knew that could be a solution! Thank you for sharing.

Anyway, nice video
Too much vignette on the thumbnail imo. Could use a rework.
You think so? I’ll consider that for future thumbnails.
I’m here before u blow up🫡
Thank you for stopping by so early!
