I have a Boxed Set of DVDs of their TV show. The shows were great and the cast members were wonderful. Kingfish and his money making schemes were hysterical.
These actors and actresses were pioneers of comedy. We watched them and had a good laugh the same as we did watching Red Skelton and others in that period of time.
Bulletproof, invisible glass: That's the oldest scam in the book. This may have been the only time that Andy successfully turned the tables on Kingfish. Wow. I really miss these shows!
This TV show got a lot of flak in the years after its running; but it seems that those critical of this show lost sight that it was a comedy, where it showed the cast of characters living a middle-class existence; all were dressed well and not impoverished; where those other guest supporting characters were working professionals as doctors, attorneys; and business owners. If anything, it showed Harlem in a positive light.
Yes, I watched this show as a kid and NEVER got the feeling it was denigrating Black people - it was just a TV show with a variety of eccentric and funny characters, just like every other sitcom of the period. (One quirky thing about the show sticks in my mind though - a voice on the laugh track very clearly saying "oh my"- they must've used the same laugh track in every episode!)
A seventy year old screen play that is more relevant today then when it was aired. Amos n' Andy is the only sitcom that makes me audibly laugh, The actors were the cream of the crop, in fact the actor who played Andy was a accomplished director in his own right. The writing was a whole lot funny and imaginative then the rubbing today.

I m Black. Jewish Movie Studios created this Jim Crow series. They got very rich. They are peculiar people, their Museums say to respect them.
Great entertainment. Loved these characters👍🏻
@@maxinefowler1186 I'm white, I'm 71, and from N.Y. As a pre teen in the late 50's- early 60's TV shows were great. Jewish people have always been a big part of what we saw then and even into the future. Most of them got rich. (I don't know about now). "Amos and Andy" taught me some 'life lessons' just like other shows did. Some respect is due to all. Everybody is peculiar, some MUCH more than others !!!
@John Loughlin Aunt Melina, etc. America is so messed up you can't tell people that Me a Black person hated that. Blackface, maids are horrific textbook racist images
Love it grew up with this show
One of the best show on TV. Watched faithfully. Loved Amos & Andy.
My mother loved Amos and Andy!! I remember watching them!!
This was absolutely amazing. Very professional and talented actors and actresses. A credit to first rate entertainment.
I have a Boxed Set of DVDs of their TV show. The shows were great and the cast members were wonderful. Kingfish and his money making schemes were hysterical.
I love Amos n Andy since I was a kid back in the 60s hilarious
So glad everyone doesn’t think this is racist just because of the time period it was made. Great show!!
I was 8yrs when I use to watch the reruns of this funny show ,my dad use to love this comedy. Brings back memories 😊
Great stuff...I’m so glad that we’re able to enjoy this old episode on UA-cam. It’s a shame it’s not a more accessible show. It definitely should be.
We loved these great comedies on tv as young kids, still love them,. I'm happy they're on youtube,
thank u for showing amos an andy. show i love them.
A hilarious show.PERIOD!!!
Always enjoy watching Amos and Andy
I enjoy watching Amos & Andy show it brings back memories
I sure wish they'd play these episodes again. I grew up watching them! One of my favorites ❤
First time ever seeing this show. Loved it more as every second passed.
@@joestrike8537 I loved that laugh track too!
I used to watch this show with my dad when I was a child. I'd forgotten all about it but watching this brings back happy memories.
We grew up with this we lived in a very diverse neighborhood I love them still 😊
A great show loved it as a kid what a classic show
Good clean comedy. It is wholesome family entertainment. We need these timeless shows on network TV today.
Beyond greatness.
When MY brother and I were small children this was our favorite show. We watched every episode.

First time in Abilene TX. 1962, Nobody on the street, asked a man in a store "where is everybody?" He said "it's 5 o'clock isn't it?" I said "yeah", he said " Amos and Andy is on". Lol.
Harryd Roseman LOL Good story
We had the same situation except the show was "The Fugitive." Streets would be deserted.
