Sir, in mercator triangle, can we not use the other two trigonometry formulas? I.e, cos(course) =DMP/dist. & sin(course) =d'long/dist.??

For mercator sailing, you can use the formula with DMP. The other formula may be cos course = dlat/distance (same as plane sailing).

Means if in the question its mentioned that find the distance and the course but it's not mention by which way so how will know that method we have to use.
