When DJ Shows Don't Turn Out Like You Had Planned

- In this video, we take a behind the scenes look at a huge outdoor event that I played for an open to the public event. I think there were probably close to 1000 people in attendance. This was an open format set and I brought out all the stops-new speakers, new lights, sparks...even a marching band, but it just didn't seem to "pop off". Watch and see why.

I love the fact you were honest. You brought the heat but still didn’t feel like you had the energy you were looking for. Mad respect for sharing this very real scenario we all go through!
I try and be honest in all of these vids.
this is why i never really prep for events. 30yrs in the game and i approach every gig the same. when you prep and have your mind on one lane things can go a totally different way when you get there. theres always a surprise and as pro djs we must be prepared. i assisted a dj with a wedding which he believed was more country & pop, come to find out the groom was Haitian and he had no clue as to what the haitian crowd would like. good thing i was there to help with that. i guess thats the downside of being a wedding dj only. when some djs are takin out of their element things tend to go south.
Some kid in that crowd will remember this event and want to become a DJ or be inspired in some way....nothings ever a waste with kids...
Much better attitude.
looks like a great time had by all. you did great. And remember happy kids means happy parents and they pay.
I have the same speaker set up but the ev etx15p tops I don’t think that was enough sun for that outside venue. Maybe the people was hearing the music, but they were not feeling the music
Maybe. Way underpowered, but for what they paid, that's what they got. Last time I did the show some sound guy came out with a massive PA, but charged more than I made.
Nice show I will say, being in this business for 25 plus years, I can tell you, as you probably already know, there's party's where you put up your 1000% of effort but the people don't, and that's just frustrating but we can only do so much if our costumers don't have the energy nor the desire to dance and have a good time.
I agree, super frustrating. I take it personal.
you showcases to kids who will be customers and entertainers of the future.
good point
3:51 do i need to throw my boom sticks at my crowd? I leave em in a basket lol
Not sure what that dude was doing. I asked him to "hand them out" smh.
Looks like you did a great job. The crowd doesn't always produce the result you want. Always give a 100% no matter if it's 10 or 10k.
Aint't that the truth?
great job like always!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
ey man, it happens from time to time.
for sure.
Could you tell the model or name, for the part you use in the polaris, for put you movíng head?
I don't understand the question
Sorry I ask what accessorie is you use to attach polaris to moving head
The adapter on top of the polaris
Adapter
@@joserossy5085 Good question. I think it's made by ProX, but I don't recall what it's called. I'm sure you can google it
Etx speakers limit way too fast. If used with bottoms is better of course but still way too fast. They don’t produce sound as they are supposed to according to how they are advertised. Rcf rocks. I did a video on my channel about the Rcf art 945a vs the Etx 15p, and the rcf mapped the floor with the Evs. No joke.
I've used every brand under the sun. They all have their limits.
@@DJJoeBunn yeah I know. But with the rcf art 945a I’m still looking for it. Hahahahahahha. Bro these things are incredible. I put them at 1 o’clock and they literally don’t limit. I’ve put my external mixer and controller all the way up and they still don’t limit. Plus the sound and clarity is incredible. No comparison here.
@@DJJoeBunn by the way does you furniture accommodate the prime 4+? Is it still for sale?
@@revelationevents2323 Yes, all controllers. Will be here in about a month. Lower price, same quality! www.bunngear.com
You gave it your best and for that you get an A in my book. Sometimes, we can be a little too hard on ourselves. From the crowd shots, it appeared they had a good time as well. Win - win from what I could see. 🫡
I appreciate that. They def. had fun.
