    Tried it that way. You can tell that it has a slight bitterness but it’s more of a component of the flavour profile than anything else. It isn’t unpleasant at all and overall, tastes amazing. Like a drinkable lime pie.

      @maddyocean2369 it's most likely that the acid in the limes is curdling the condensed milk. Brazilian lemonade becomes very bitter after a while regardless of pith because of this.

      You shouldn't blend more than 5 second and then strains it. We had 11 beverages stores and Lime/Calamansi is our signatures.

  • @marcoslo00063
    @marcoslo00063 22 дні тому +37

    The reason most people make it bitter is because they blend it like a smoothie. You are supposed to cut your limes in fours and pulse it a couple times but not too much. don’t forget to add sugar and only half a can of sweetened condensed milk. This is most common recipe amongst Brazilians.

I stated my opinion, do you disagree with my opinion? Or is it just that you're looking for any excuse to fight a person on the internet. 🇧🇷 folks, some advice from a Brazilian: it shouldn't be bitter at all! The secret is not blending it for too long, just use the pulse function a few times, just enough to extract the flavors, but the peel must NOT be completely crushed in the end. Only a few cuts in the peel is enough, nothing else. This way you can extract the essential oils from the lime peel (or lemon as well) and have the traditional taste of the Brazilian lemonade.
    You can slice the lemon into 4 parts (and remove the seeds), this will make it easier to extract the juice without crushing the fruit completely and you'll not have a bitter taste after all. Don't blend the entire lime lol! Also, you don't need to use the entire can of condensed milk, just a bit to give it a creamy texture without making it too sweet (you don't even need to use it if you don't want to, actually can just add some sugar and will be great as well and taste a little more citrusy ).
    I hope this helps you improve your recipe friends. Enjoy! 🧃

      This sure does help me. A whole lot actually. I did twice , crushing it in little pieces , with of course a whole can condensed milk ( as I literally took the recipe from a non Brazilian) and it was both times bitter. My thoughts where exactly: 💭 " it's impossible that this mixture should be rhat bitter" 💭. And here you are, finally with the best tip for this delicious 😋 lemonade. I'm about to make mine exactly as you said. Thank you so much for your help. ❤❤❤
      Afterwards I'll crush the lemon peels again with water and mix it with some products to use it for cleaning floors for fresh smell. 😊😊😊

    ❤ I love lemon and and limeade. I grew up the forst 11 yrs of my life in my native So. Cal, and we had a lemon tree, lime tree, orange tree, grapefruit tree, pomegranate bushes, and a hug walnut tree in our back yard (1 acre of land), so my brothers and I just grabbed fruit and nuts when we were outside playing - which in the 60s was all day outside, until dusk when we went inside for dinner. Love the tartness of lemonade and lime. Probably would not put that much condensed milk in it, though, too sweet and negates the tart.

      So add sugar if you want it sweet.

    • @jggouvea
      @jggouvea 7 місяців тому

      You don't have to add condensed milk. You can squeeze the limes, add brown sugar and stir it (instead of blending). That's how my mum used to make lemoned when I was a kid. This lemonade with condensed milk was a fancy thing you'd drink at restaurants. Homemade lemonade was plain, and used brown sugar. I still do it like that.

    Just tried it exactly how he said other than maybe 1/4 cup of sugar (don’t do this if you don’t like it on the super sweet side) and it came out a million times better than the previous recipe I had tried, NO bitterness😊 a drinkable key lime pie basically.

I was thinking there’s no way people actually like this and that the people making these shorts have to be lying about it tasting good lol😂 I’m going to the store right now so i can make it 🤙🏼

    the bitterness is good, it's part of the flavor profile. like tonic water or ...bitters.

    I like the bitterness whenever I make Brazilian lemonade. To me, it compliments the sweet creaminess of the sweetened condensed milk. Now when I’m making it to share with others, I make it without the bitter element and it still tastes just as good.
    Random Fun Fact: in Brazil this lemonade is actually called “Swiss Lemonade”- and is named after the Switzerland businessmen who brought sweetened condensed milk to Brazil.
