I really love the story for this patch. They really expanded and connected us with the many characters we've met since 1.0 and learn more about them . For a filler patch, it really filled in some knowledge we didn't think we'd know about the playables. Also Wish 2's concluding story made me tear up when the granny was taken care of by his late son's subordinates to take care of her and learning more about her son through them. Just like Changli's Story Quest in 1.1, the NPCs really helped to make the story work. Edit: Rewatching this, Wish 1's story heavily connects to Xiangli's story REALLY well considering what happened to him and his friend in the past.
I just found your channel recently because I wanted to get back in WuWa and enjoy the story and Xiangli's story, and your channel is great, I also came to that same understanding you did in the ZZZ video you made recently about why you're playing it again, because at the end of the day these games are meant to be enjoyed and not min maxxed, even if you're making content for it. That's mainly the reason I was able to get through the new festival event at all, I got super into the story because its just super wholesome, how he's doing this for everyone and asking for nothing in return because his father did it and its part of his legacy. Also after seeing the resonator showcase for him a second time after watching your full reaction to 1.2. I think the stairs in the showcase is an homage to Pascar because in the monologue when he said" sometimes a problem will set traps, Create Mazes" he was directly talking about people in his own life, maybe his Mother and Father, but definitely Pascar and how he got lost in the sauce and went too hard on the research and ended up risking his life and dying over it. It ties well to Xiangli's development and the finale for 1.2 and it makes the showcase go that much harder after knowing the backstory. It also adds a lot to his flavor text about how he enjoys going out in public into crowded areas to reconnect with people when he feels too exhausted from work, because it probably reminds him of how the friendship he had with Pascar helped him learn that his father was the one behind the festival all along, deepening his connection to reality. A good message for those of us who should be making more genuine connections and touching more grass lol. I hope his character becomes a key part of the main story, because now I wanna know what they do with him, they have so much room to work with when they left the finale so open ended. The return of his father in some way and how it ties into the Court of Savante would be absolute cinema.
Despite the sillier and more wholesome undertones, I feel like this story's up there considering Xiangli's story with Pascar and his past was actually really good and nailed the perfect balance between the personal conflicts that geniuses often face in society.
Best thing about 1.2 story is EN Yangyang sounds so much better than before. And Yao's EN VA is so good too. I'm very happy that WuWa EN voice direction is better now. ❤❤❤
I love this patch as well. Did not expect the story to be emotional and character-oriented tbh but I love it. They improved the voice-acting and even improved the story-telling even more with the dynamic animations and cinematography. I know it's a filler patch and it's basically do the dailies and out after we've cleared the content but still. The content itself is great. I hope they explore more mature and a bit darker themes in the future. I'm kinda worried when the devs said that they reduced the "post-apocalyptic" elements a bit during the CBT. I hope that they intend to ease the players into a darker narrative and not ditch it all the way..
When people talk about Wuwas flaws or try to say wuwa isnt good and bring up story, it's clear they didn't play past launch. All the story and characters quest the last two patches have been very good overall. Game has a lot of flaws but the story quest aren't one imo
tbf almost all the interaction is wuwa is pretty much wholesome, from granma npc, kids, even the robots. It's really a fresh environment compared with other gacha game especially hsr lmao. I remember there's a forgetful servant who tried her best but got fired in the end because the employer claim she's a burden or something. Not to mention the rude "joke" reply the MC gives to the other characters. I remember welt once talk about his robot hobby and holy sht one of the reply is hurting MY feeling lmao (and poor welt even apologize for it 😭). It's leaving really bad taste I uninstalled hsr. They may call it "funky" or whatever it's just a world of toxic and I don't want to be one of them lmao.
Did you get to see the special Zhezhi interaction after the finale? It was by the Changli booth and you could get a special interaction. How many of you knew or missed it?
Yeah its amazing for a filler. Blown me away how good it was. Tbf im not expecting anything but they delivered flawlessly. Cant wait for you to do Zhezhi quest man

Character story quest is always available even if u dont own the character, just like jiyan and Yinlin and Changli so you can do it whenever, only the BP score is affected for the levels
