It's worse than you even acknowledge re the virus origins. In the post credits scene we got a super fast super strong walker from a normal human kill. All we've seen in this series is acid variants and serum walkers... Regardless except for the too quick psacing issues I've generally enjoyed the series.
I do like the show but why dont we get any lore about franch starting the virus and walker variants its always conflicts with 2 groups never some stuff about the walkers
Honestly I’m disappointed with these spin offs I wish they didn’t get rid of the crm I wish these spin offs build the crm threat later we have a epilogue show we see the characters join together to defeat the crm later at the end of the show we see them defeat the crm and with the right leadership they can rebuild mankind
That is exactly how I assumed the universe would go. So let down by this franchise. I'll always love it but honestly this show is like being in an abusive relationship
Laurant's reaction to hearing about Isabell's death feels like something you'd see in a sociopath character. I don't know if he has sociopathy but if not then I feel like either the kid can't act or the director(s) aren't doing their job with the kid
Maybe they were trying to portray him as hardening, becoming less innocent. I dunno. I wouldn’t say it seemed sociopathic, more like he was dissociating. Most laypeople have no idea what that is. It’s a trauma response, but not well known. I’m not saying the director did or didn’t do something right. But, I was not at all surprised by his response since I have seen that sort of reaction in real life. I do think directors ought to understand what the masses will recognize and make sure whatever they are trying to portray is clear. I have thought from the start that Louis is a subpar actor. Not bad, just not great. So there is that.
@ huh, thought he meant Daryl. Maybe, but it sure seems like a stretch since he never talked about a biological brother in the main show. It’d be an interesting twist to bring that storyline in. Not holding out hope for it though.
I think your decreased excitement is warranted. I agree with 12 episodes not being enough. I agree with the great point you made about how they just don't care to answer so many questions. The only things I didn't agree with is the quick hindsight. I think you need to finish the season, then let some time go by to fully treat this show like it's behind us.
When the immune kid gets back to the America, I don’t remember his name. I bet him and Rick daughter will get together. I forgot their name. Sorry about that. If you know their names comment down on mine, but they probably are going to get together. I watched a show for a while, almost guaranteed.
@@shaunpaulsen7960how??? Laurents mother was already preggers at the start and Lori got pregnant after the fall started so Obviously Laurent is older than Judith
@ well given that they were both born around the beginning of the apocalypse they’re pretty much the same age. The difference is that the nuns kept Laurent cloistered and Judith was out there fighting the walkers as a tiny child. Laurent seems younger but they cannot be that far apart in age.
Watching this season makes me wonder if Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg are secretly the showrunners for it? Especially with how they seem to be quickly moving away from the hybrid walkers and not explaining how any of it works.
I liked how Daryl killed the 'new path' guy with an ancient skull, a relic of Paris's centuries old effort to improve public health. The symbolism was elegant. That said, ALL of these spinoffs are cursed by [gimple's ?] overly ambitious storylines and a lack of budget to treat them intelligently. They're trying to do way too much in too short a time frame. Or is it because management is under the delusion that viewers prefer these vacuous, headache-inducing stories and paces? I'm actually angry that they're skipping the whole, 'how did this start?' question. As they kill off people who could've had some knowledge, it becomes clear they don't want to go there.
Honestly, I'm curious how you rate the episode, it seems so high (still 7/10 or 6.5/10) when you're visibly upset by so many not negligible aspects of this season. Personally, I feel like you barely talk about good things in these past reviews to explain this rating to me (I have the impression that you don't even like half of the episode to justify a 5/10), so it could be fun to know what your specific point is for rating them. I love it your video by the way!
Personally a huge chunk of my rating comes from the film making aspects of the series which is a huge factor for my personal enjoyment. The sets always look fantastic, some of the best in the series. The main show had a habit of constantly filming in the forest and avoiding anything that would require time to foliage up practically or digitally, where as daryl Dixon seems to put a lot of value in visual spectacle, Every episode including this one features multiple interesting locations such as the club, maison mere, the abandoned race track, etc. it’s clear there’s a lot of love put in from the production side, And that extends to the cinematography as well, it’s hard to film in a car and make it look spacious but the way they pan all the way around the interior displaying the confusion of every character before showing the blood splatter up against the window is really well done, and there are many subtle examples of shots of the same quality throughout each episode. I think you’re right a 7/10 may be a bit high of a ranking, I’d probably give it more of a 6/10 but the overall story is my only real issue which is what I’m most vocal about, I think a lot of the characters are written well, they’ve just been killed off too soon, and a lot of the ideas presented are interesting, but they just weren’t fleshed out enough. I might put production value as a factor for enjoyment a little higher than your average person but I hope that helps explain my reasoning a bit
@@Swell-Films Thank you for your response!! You are absolutely right that the environment is by far the greatest quality of these two seasons. It's totally understandable that it takes up a good part of your rating. I understand your vision more thanks to your response and it makes sense. I agree with you that the story is not the only important element in a tv show like this.
I’ve really loved the France setting, particularly when it was going a bit Middle Ages with the weaponry and locations. I totally agree that plot events have all become inconsequential and meaningless. If they go back to America, I’ll lose interest, I think. The first season of this series was my favourite TWD season ever. This season is okay, but Isabelle’s death was a losing move. Just making everyone die makes the plot seem redundant. Great reviews, thanks, Ty ❤
Watching your videos has made me look at TWD differently. Subtle details like the environment and what not are much more appreciated now, thanks for that SPOILER FOR THE S2 FINALE The place where the final act for the next episode takes place is very very cool. I’m 100% sure you’re going to love the “new” scenario they show us and how it all plays out
I accidentally stumbled upon the last two episodes in english, leaked about a month before their official releases. If it was the main show, I never would have watched them, but I just want to get the spinoff over with. The finale is actually really cool!
Daryl is gonna end up staying and have carol take Laurent that’s why there’s a tape recorder so she can have everyone know that he tried making it back
Y’all might hate me for this but season 2 of this show is better than the first season now hear me out it’s Darly and Carol like come on they are fighting walkers in France and can we talk about the variant walkers killing the other walkers?!?! That was crazy and awesome seeing the blood all over the walls plus Carol telling ash the truth about Sophia which was perfect and it made me cry a little. No matter what these spin offs will be great and mid sometimes!
There’s definitely great aspects to the series, my issues more so comes from the lack of overall impact this show has for the franchise. I’ve enjoyed the new ideas presented, but they either don’t come to fruition like Laurent’s potential immunity or pouvoirs reclamation of France, or they’re only lightly explored like the hybrid variants. These last couple episodes especially have felt like they’ve been rushing to get them out of France which is a real shame imo, I want to know more about what’s already been established.
I wanted Carol back. I didn’t even bother with the first season until I heard she was in the second season. I dunno which season I think is “better” because I prefer season two merely because my favorite character was rejoining my second favorite character. I know lots of folks are complaining that Carol coming back has ruined everything set up in season one, but since I don’t care I can’t really speak to that.
It was the best ep of the season for me, but its just to little to late. Genet, the experiments, Isabelle, the whole France storyline just dismissed and now its time for a new journey. What the hell was the point on season one now?
I always have to ask WHY do some of the fans EXPECT certain answers, when from day 1 they have made it CRYSTAL CLEAR that they have ZERO intention of telling us. They've made clear the show is basically about humans learning to survive the apocalypse.
I think the fans are allowing they're own expectations for the story to ruin their experience of the shows. In other words because the FAN ideas, hopes, wishes and desires never align with the show there seems to be a false sense of disappointment which then ruins the show for them.
I can see that being annoying. I think it’s a problem with the subtitles not being available though and not the show. They’re in France, I would find it ridiculous if the characters all always spoke English. I’m glad the show runners didn’t do that.
I have almost no excitement for Daryl season 2 I was turned off after episode one of the the one's who live I like the first episode ent the end. Now the only spinoff I have any interest in is dead city just to see what negan does.
Ngl, The fact they killed Isabel and genet and made it seem like the zealot plotline was gonna last the rest of the season is wild seeing as they killed him off easily. Codron and Laurent are the only thing keeping me on the show rn 😂
@ seems like it and I hate that because my biggest compliment of season 1 was the cast. Everyone felt like they belonged in the show and the story. Plus they were just good actors. I wanted something new and now theyre removing it for no real reason
Cadron was just pissed his brother was killed wasn’t he? I’ve only seen a couple episodes but the first time I saw cadron around that evil leader lady I could tell he didn’t like her. They were building to it, but something clearly changed and quickly. TOWL kinda ruined a lot with that ending.
So true. It really sucks. There was so much potential and it would have been so easy to tie in the CRM to the France story line too
Same mate the universe is going to shit

One thing I hope they get right with season three of Daryl Dixon is introducing Rick‘s brother
I don’t have high hopes for that. Since Rick never mentioned a brother in the show.
