Best album of metal history. Iommi is a God, supreme and absolute!! I can't listen a P90 sound, then I start to cry remembering that I never will meet him and I never will go in a Sabbath show... Nice playing man!
Damn, nice.I spent hours last night trying to get the riff at the end of the verses right.I was stuck in 7th position using bends and such, sounded alright but not RIGHT, this is a major difference .
Hi, I am trying to learn the second solo can you please tell me the notes to the cool riff starting at 3:40 using string numbers as I can’t seem to pick it up by ear. Cheers, Sean.
I've seen some different Red Monkey SGs you've played. The pickups on this one look different ? Who made them. They are thicker and less shiny than the JayDee set. Vintage John Birch Simplux? Newer Birch ? Custom ?
Lost Let’s say it’s in E for simplicity sake, it starts off as a regular E minor scale but ends with a few weird notes thrown in like a C# and Bb. It’s not really a scale but a scary jazz lick...
I've been playing this song for years... Not the ending though, that was actually a first, captured on video. No tabs sorry. You can check out a tablature book called Black Sabbath Anthology
what tunning did you do ? and you wouldnt have tab would you? all the tab i find it just doesnt seem right to me but your cover is bang on the real way tony plays it! rock on. and let me know
I love that you are playing this. I have been trying to work it out by ear. I see that you play the main riff on the "A" string with an "E" string drone. the way I hear it, I think he is playing with his pinky on the 7th fret and is playing between the 5th and 4th strings with the E drone. Its hard to explain, but I looked it up and watch Tony. ua-cam.com/video/UZO8-7cCTSA/v-deo.html
Iommi plays the heaviest, most evil, gothic, and scariest riffs ever made.
Truth
One of the best songs Black Sabbath ever made. The rhythm section of Bill and Geezer do a great job with the shuffle beat

You make it look so easy. Especially those quirky scales.
@ 2:57 is just an awesome sounding riff!
Excellent. One of my top 10 favorite songs of all time. I like everything about it. Your interpretation is great.
Am I the only one who thinks this first riff sounds scarry?
That's easily the most fucking evil riff to ever exist at the time it was recorded.
Terminxman besides the Black Sabbath riff
thats the intention
@ it's f****** righteous dude👍💖💖💪💪👊👊😎😎
It's the most evil riff ever, even by today's standards.
Love your tone and playing is spot on! One of my favorite Sabbath songs from one, if not my all-time favorite Sabbath albums!

Everyday just comes and goes life is one long overdose XDD
good cover
GREAT!!!
Awesome!!
Tony plays that up-the-scale bridge bit (at 55 seconds) completely differently if you have a look at live performances. But fair play to ya.
MonkeyTennis that's right.. I did it by ear in this vid, and do it a little different now
fuckin sick
Straight out of tail piece no back Bridge!!!!
Killer

I am not sure what scale he uses on the run. Care to explain it?

Yes you are correct, that is how he plays it. I've added another vid of this song with that picking style.
What type of strings do you use, 0.42 to 0.09?
Just a tad or 2 slower so it's plodding.
Nice try but your not playing it right.
D Reed I know check out my newer cover
