A full 6k token/4 key refund would likely be too much, but even as much as 3k tokens or 2 keys would at least help this be a smaller pain point for players
The Arishem nerf is too harsh. At least lower the random cards to 10 if this is the change or have your starting hand be only cards you put in your deck with 12 random shuffle after. This kinda kills the most fun card that honestly only hurt a very small percentage of the community considering everyone had one of the best counter cards Cassandra.

Every Arishem player always had the cards they needed to screw me even though drawing those cards should've been highly improbable. Though this level of nerf is highly uncalled for, it should've been "After turn 1, gain 1 max power."
With this change on Arishem they also nerf Mbaku and Uatu. That was the only deck i’ve ever played them cause with the 15 extra cards your chances of drawing them were really low. Now, its not worth the risk of pulling them. Another 2 cards banished from the game while they release a monstuosity like Galacta
Yeah this aint gonna be enough to get me back in, we really beed a better way to get new cards. I'm now a month and a half behind on releases with no chance to catch up.
Cerebro needs abilities similar to Luke Cage, where your cards power cannot be changed (either negative or positive). As much as I welcome the reduced cost Cerebro, the cost was never an issue to begin with and I don’t think it will make Cerebro relevant. Cerebro would have a tough time competing nowadays. Even after playing Bro into Mystique for the maximum +4 power, it still struggles to beat the power put out by decks nowadays. When you take into account that your whole deck is built around one card, all of the locations that screw you over, tech cards that kill Cerebro and cards that afflict negative power. Cerebro is just too frustrating to play. As much as I love Cerebro, this change isn’t it.
@V1Variant You forgot to mention Echo, Red Guardian, High Evo, Scream, Kingpin, Spider Woman, Scorpion, Hazmat - just to name a few. That's before even considering locations that ruin Cerebro. Cerebro has enough downsides, why does it need more?
Sad about Arishem and feels bad for everyone who spent tokens on him. However I gotta say I find all the nerfs to Surtur deck gross since that deck seems to hardly be used now, and probably after a ton of people bought the pass. What makes it worse is this all feels like an effort to sell a future card (Aries) by nerfing the other options. Things like Hydra Bob will remain insane until enough people have him/spend their scarce resorces then it's off to nerf town. 🙄
This change to Arishem really upsets me. It as my way of being able to handle the meta and keep up without buying EVERY new card. it was also my way of playing a "draft" like deck. I've been thinking about taking a hiatus from Snap because it hasn't been fun, but this change kind of seals the deal for me.
You're whining for nothing. You people take the content you consume too much to the head in terms of influence. have you actually played and found that it's as bad as you've had put in your head? Also he doesn't know for sure either it's just his opinion that will be edified or changed with time

Arishem has in my view been a problem for awhile. While he's not as bad in the normal game my biggest issue has always been the Conquest Grind being even grindier as you wade through a sea of Arishem decks. Most cards in Marvel Snap are just generally good, and as it turns out getting to play 2x as many of them than your opponent (in terms of energy efficency) is probably a little too good. Personally I would have made it maybe every two turns an extra energy and see if it needed tweaking from their though, this is a pretty big nerf.
dude i climbed the last 3 season to infinite with arishem but in conquest if i want to win gold or infinite ticket i dnt play him cause he is not consistent . these people are cry babies and bad at the game.
The problem with arishem is your opponent had very little counter play cause they have no idea what you have. One game you have all the answers the next you may not. Not to mention you could have copies of cards like 2 red guardians how am I suppose to play around that.
@ Have you heard of Cassandra? A 3 power card that straight up wins you the game 90% of the time. Not to mention sandbar is a location, and we have a card coming out that does the sandbar effect.
@@Glory_greatest Shen chi shadow king which they could have 2 of. It’s more about your opponents ability to counter you cause 2 cards in the whole game which I’m forced to run in case I run into this deck (ik nova is run cause it’s good unlike dark hawk who’s more niche) but what about me I don’t own nova so I have to win against it another way.
@V1Variant i mean it was also a unique and thrilling way to play the game. The double cards I get and I dont mind that change. That's fair. But Arishem's skill cap is arguably higher than normal decks because you have to think on your feet with what you have and what unconventional ways you can make it work.
Oh nice. I got cerebro a bit ago. Havent made a deck yet, so good timing maybe? Stormbreaker is chunky now, love that for him. Lockjaw deck eating good A very interesting arishem change
i like arishem alot, ever since i played like gen 2 pokemon i used metronome for the first time, ive been addicted to the nuanced random playstyle. I understand Arishem is a bit to powerful, and i get annoyed matching against them. ( Mind you i havent unlocked him yet and have been waiting for him to drop in shop or something) Im hoping this change makes it less annoying to play against but still fun/relevant to play so i can still look forward to getting him in the future.
I have a feeling they looked at the numbers and they calculated that the amount of work to fix the game isn't worth the time and effort. Also I'm 99% sure they've been working on another game so maybe they're just letting SNAP slowly die while milking it for what they can until that games ready. Whatever they're doing it's definitely not trying to improve the game.
Mary nerf was rough, I used her a lot in the surtur deck to protect a lane full of 10s from a last turn Shang chi, I guess it will still work but if they don’t Shang 4/4 vs 4/7 is rough
So as somebody who uses Arishem for his energy buff for playing Hulks in my "Hulkamania" deck, I don't see this as a problem, as I already thought maybe it's time to ditch that and send Arishem back to Loki and maybe rely on other ways to get energy like Penny and Luna who seem much better at letting me control the energy distribution, AND don't burry my Magik to where I cannot find her on turn 5. It's probably time for a nerf. Annoyingly, I have to think about allocating future tokens into Luna,, since I rolled the dice and got a flat nope from 5 keys, but oh well. Just like MTG, if you want a good strategy to go off, you have to not just adapt to the meta but fix your energy sources, as most of us know.
I've been one foot out of the door with Snap for a little while now, but nerfing Arishem is the last nail in the coffin for me as Arishem decks were the last bastion of fun i had in the game.
Arishem - At the start of the game, +1 Max Energy. Shuffle 12 random cards into your deck. Your cards Costs cannot be reduced This would fix the Quinjet and Loki issues(Valentina and Iron Patriot issues as well)...I just don't understand why they don't adopt this. so much simpler than +1 after turn 3.
if these go through, I'm out. Not even mad, on the edge of leaving since the Loki changes but with all the recent shit AND my deck going to shit itself now, there is nothing left here. bro buff is cool tho
The Arishem nerf feels really bad. I don’t even feel like he was that good of a card. There were elements of it that were fun and he was good for collecting bounties, but there were drawbacks to it. Sometimes, you draw good combos. Other times, you draw cards that are absolutely abysmal without the right cards to synergize with (like MODOK or Kang). New players would craft him to sample other cards or to use before they can get a full deck together. This feels like a move that hurts new players and, need I remind anyone that the new player experience is what is hurting in Snap the most right now? I feel like my win rate against Arishem was more in my favor and there are plenty, Plenty of counters. Darkhawk was already a very good card and Cassandra Nova is good period and has a massive advantage against Arishem, even if you play Loki. They also remade sandbar to hurt Arishem. I don’t think that Arishem was ever that strong. He was used way too much when he came out, but I feel like it’s gone down a lot since he got nerfed and CN entered the game. I don’t think that this helps the game, I think it hurts the new players experience.
Deadpool’s diner was full of people using this card. I’m CL 1400 playing against CL 40k+ and I can’t compete. I’m not affected by the change because I don’t even have the card but if it’s in every top deck you guys can’t be so naive to think the card isn’t problematic.
Well, everybody hated Arishem for T5-Alioth into T6-Alioth shenanigans. Now it's still there and easier to pull cos of smaller decks. But they can't play Loki T2. For sure, impact on the Arishem player will be massive. Will it reduce hate for arishem? Doubt it
@@k9commandertrue, I missed "new". Just tested my Arishem deck and can't say the card has been destroyed. T1 Loki/Cable is gone, but T3 Galacta is still huge. Imho -2 total energy, but more consistency is not as bad as it sounds. No dupes is also healthy for the game as a whole. My prediction - Quinjet will again be a must-have Arishem card.
. Arishem was fair and fun. Arishem dropped in winrate a lot with the previous nerf, but people was still playing it because it offered a different play experience: Being able to adjust dynamically through the game and getting to use all the cards you don't own was really awesome. Nerfing a deck that is not dominant just because many people like playing it maybe goes against the game. I'll still try to play it, thought. But playing the deck as a competitive option is not a reality anymore. Many people likely play Arishem as a way to do missions for which they need to play decks they find boring, hoping to win with the rest of the deck. Or maybe to see different cards in action. As there are many additional reasons to play it aside from competitiveness it'll probably always have a play rate higher than its win rate would suggest. Some cards are so effective that warp the meta around, obsoleting complete decks, and making people boring of facing them. I understand some people hate facing arishem because they like their knowledge of meta meaning a competitive edge and Ari ramdomness trumpts that element. But still: Arishem was already prety beatable, not a free win, but sometimes pretty close. But more important than that: Arishem being a competitive option and removing a little predictablility from games is not just a bane for skilled players using knowledge of the meta to win: *It's a blessing for people hating to see the same cards again and again*.
When Arishem came out so did a $50 bundle so you could get it. Marvel Snap is a $$ hungry game, changing cards & making it impossible to get new cards without spending $$ . Thank goodness Rivals is 🔥 bc Snap is on da way out now
I don’t have NOVA and I don’t run darkhawk what else are you using which both can be Shen chi or the having 2 red guardians or shadow kings. Like the counters aren’t really that strong
I think you're misunderstanding that Arishem is the most RNG card and when someone loses to RNG and not a planned deck, it causes more player rage. Especially when Arishem usually runs multiple tech cards and then has extra tech from the RNG. "They can't have two Shang Chi's, right?" The +Energy nerf is so Arishem can't Loki turn 1. (It also sounds like if you Loki an Arishem before turn 3, then you don't get the +Energy.) But now you draw your cards more often. So maybe you can't play Loki turn 1, but you draw Loki more consistently. Quinjet-Loki-Arishem was the most toxic play that I've seen too often. Arishem needs to be neutered. So here we are.
In my personal experience Arishem wasn't that bad I won against it several times because of the randomness of the deck, I really enjoyed playing it so to see this nerf is sad

Airshem decks are easy to beat unless you are testing out a new deck and you aren't sure what you made is any good. Any good deck will take it down unless they just roll super lucky.
I agree guys , we have seen problems in snap such as hela and alioth ( as it was before i don’t think he’s that bad either right now) but i don’t think Arishem was in that category
Does he usually not have opponents who play enchantress? Sometimes when I play, they use move, bounce or galatus or use enchantress. What is so special about arihesm? I got him in a random spotlight key and I barely use him.
I think that was most people's issues, they felt like arishem always generated the cards people needed to counter their deck....but that's just a theory right? Just like if you play ongoing for 5 games then switch to on reveal the first deck you play runs Cosmo and rouge lol
Arishem was the only reliable solution that helped players transition relatively smoothly through the 1000-5000 collection levels, but now it’s been nerfed due to demands from veteran players.
I think I'll still play with him. I've been kinda bored of most decks so I've been using him just to keep every game pretty fresh. Nerf is weird to me tho in 6hrs of playing tho I might play against him 2/3 times. All I see are movement decks. I didn't realize alot of people still used him.
This is ridiculous. They have to make every card either overpowered either trash. Beta Ray is great already. But now they make it overpowered in hopes everybody starts playing it, which will take all the fun out for me
@@BryanRoach great already as in "doesn't need a buff". A lot of Snap players have a misconception on "cards" and "decks". They will only say a card is broken if the meta deck is broken. Look at Lockjaw or Cannonball getting nerf because Thanos or the synergy with Pr. X was overpowered. Or now Typhoid gets nerfed because Surture is too powerful. People should just grow a brain and build their own decks for once. I beat DP Dinner in a few days playing my BRB deck, I assure you he doesn't need any buff whatsoever.
I dont think the arishem nerf is as consequential as it seems on the surface. It is significant but it's definitely still playable. Just dont get turn 1 cables/loki anymore and people often played quinjet t1 anyway.
and just like that i am done with the game. Arishem was the only thing that let players like me who couldn't throw thousands at the game actually get to use fun new cards and actually have consistent variety with the game. They just refuse to listen to players and I think they are intentionally killing the game at this point.
dude i climbed the last 3 season to infinite with arishem but in conquest if i want to win gold or infinite ticket i dnt play him cause he is not consistent . these people are cry babies and bad at the game.
@chikhaouinadhir788 literally! It was good enough ti make up for the randomness, but by no means was it a busted deck. It's just people playing properly structured decks getting tilted when arishem high rolled. Either way, I'm completely done with the game now. My arishem deck was the last thing keeping me playing because I just can't afford to keep up with cards. I'd say I have less than 12 series 4/5 cards and arishem let me actually have fun and they are clearly being greedy by taking that option away from players.
Arishem nerf seems so weird. They acknowledge that the deck itself isn't over performing, but too many people were playing it so they nerfed it lmao. Maybe SD should take a step back and understand why people play Arishem to that extent and remedy those issues before killing the card. Turn 1 Loki is an overrated play and the dupe protection would solve the pain point of double counter cards.
I love playing Arishem, I hate playing against Arishem. I haven't yet managed to contain my anger when he pulls off something crazy that I had no way of predicting. But one day, one day... In terms of the change. IMO, it's absolutely stupid. Yes, the card is annoying - there's no denying that - but not OP or meta-breaking. A good synergistic deck like Bounce or Discard (let alone my fav boy Mr. Negative that got me to Infinite this season) can easily go over the top of it in most cases. So, I think, there was no urgent need to nerf the deck that hard, especially given the fact that it was one of the few opportunities for low-CL players to get their hands on a cheap, but competitive deck.
They killed Arishem, the only thing that was keeping me playing this game because he's just so fun. This is the last straw for me, I'm deleting the game

Copycat is amazing and just the intel of the other deck and what card they won't be drawing is well worth it. And when you get something that will help you, huge bonus.
The frigga buff hurt my C3 too:(

You don't need every card
Do whatever you want second dinner, nuke all the cards I don't care anymore. 😅
Yep just being f2p right now, it's fun to watch all this drama. They nerf the acquisition more later? Yep I'm careless 😂
That will never happen 😂 because your only counter would be enchantress or rogue....they will never let that happen
@V1Variant You forgot to mention Echo, Red Guardian, High Evo, Scream, Kingpin, Spider Woman, Scorpion, Hazmat - just to name a few. That's before even considering locations that ruin Cerebro.
Cerebro has enough downsides, why does it need more?
these insane buffs probably not even making a dent into the meta really shows how fast the balance went downhill with the frequent releases
Arishem got dogged on for the turn 3 energy

You were playing with extra energy and every tech card known to man, early alioth, loki/quin turn to reduce cards further. Time to get good
Do you know why the balance patch notes aren't on the app? Usually they have them available to read but after loading the game three different times there hasn't been any sign of this information on the game app
They don't want to publicize how much they're destroying their own game so they're hiding the patch notes to avoid the backlash
Typhoid was uncalled for.
Same for black widow and alioth.
Im almost mad now.
The new card Surture is overpowered? Let's nerf Typhoid then

The problem with arishem is your opponent had very little counter play cause they have no idea what you have. One game you have all the answers the next you may not. Not to mention you could have copies of cards like 2 red guardians how am I suppose to play around that.

That would make sense, because there are more free-to-play and casual players than paying or competitive players.
Only positive thing I'll say about arishem is, it gave f2p people a way to play cards they don't own ....that was the only positive
And I'm not f2p but I understand why they would be upset in a game that makes it almost impossible for newer players to get cards
@V1Variant i mean it was also a unique and thrilling way to play the game. The double cards I get and I dont mind that change. That's fair. But Arishem's skill cap is arguably higher than normal decks because you have to think on your feet with what you have and what unconventional ways you can make it work.

@groundedfan7724 Cerebro is so rewarding if you master it. It does take a LOT of patience and practice, though.
i like arishem alot, ever since i played like gen 2 pokemon i used metronome for the first time, ive been addicted to the nuanced random playstyle.
Thanks for the video and the information. It will be interesting to see how these changes impact the meta, especially the change to Arishem.
well, figures, just got Arishem and had fun with him
Cerebro buff?!?!?!?! OMG OMG OMG OMG. FINALLY.
Ahem.
This news pleases me.
This OTA is probably the most ridiculous I had seen in my life.
SD have no idea what are they doing.
@@rayman17420 been like this for a while I feel. Extremely disappointing
Same, thanks Second Dinner for the excuse to quit
I actually love all of these changes. Nothing feels like its destoying any decks (sans C5) and if anything black widow is a little worse
Arishem - At the start of the game, +1 Max Energy. Shuffle 12 random cards into your deck. Your cards Costs cannot be reduced
This would fix the Quinjet and Loki issues(Valentina and Iron Patriot issues as well)...I just don't understand why they don't adopt this. so much simpler than +1 after turn 3.
if these go through, I'm out.
Pretty sure the energy cheat is why they did it so people would buy Luna snow or that spider chick
@@V1Variant I agree.

Deadpool’s diner was full of people using this card. I’m CL 1400 playing against CL 40k+ and I can’t compete. I’m not affected by the change because I don’t even have the card but if it’s in every top deck you guys can’t be so naive to think the card isn’t problematic.

I truly believe the loss of duplicates from from the 12 cards added to your deck is a way bigger nerf
Are you going to make a video on the second round of drops?
Maybe its been said before but retooling Black Widow at 2 cost and maximus and crystal at 3 cost could let you do some interesting card denial
Well, everybody hated Arishem for T5-Alioth into T6-Alioth shenanigans. Now it's still there and easier to pull cos of smaller decks. But they can't play Loki T2.
For sure, impact on the Arishem player will be massive. Will it reduce hate for arishem? Doubt it
Check the notes again. No duplicates on the new Arishem.
@@dangllshow6758 literally 3 less random cards does not = more consistency lmao. what a cope

Thank goodness Rivals is 🔥 bc Snap is on da way out now
I don't understand why they nerf arishem, you already has tons of way to counter it
I don’t have NOVA and I don’t run darkhawk what else are you using which both can be Shen chi or the having 2 red guardians or shadow kings.
I’m just still waiting for the Op buff on adam warlock

Arishem was the only reliable solution that helped players transition relatively smoothly through the 1000-5000 collection levels, but now it’s been nerfed due to demands from veteran players.
Which is wild, because for any decent veteran player, an Arishem match should be easy pickings.
I think I'll still play with him. I've been kinda bored of most decks so I've been using him just to keep every game pretty fresh. Nerf is weird to me tho in 6hrs of playing tho I might play against him 2/3 times. All I see are movement decks. I didn't realize alot of people still used him.
I used Shuri in Negative. Why they gotta keep nerfing my Negative....

Arishem was the only thing that let players like me who couldn't throw thousands at the game actually get to use fun new cards and actually have consistent variety with the game. dude i climbed the last 3 season to infinite with arishem but in conquest if i want to win gold or infinite ticket i dnt play him cause he is not consistent . these people are cry babies and bad at the game.
Turn 1 Loki is an overrated play and the dupe protection would solve the pain point of double counter cards.
people play arishem cuz its easy and skill-less
An embarrassingly bad patch. Nerf tier 2 decks and don't touch galacta who is literally warping the game.
They haven't milked Galactica for all they can yet..... it's the SD way
They will nerf her lol give it 2 weeks or so
SD ruins every card at some point, and that point is usually when it's not making them money anymore
When I played a few games today I retreated the first two because I thought my arishem/agatha deck was bugged.
They killed Arishem, the only thing that was keeping me playing this game because he's just so fun. This is the last straw for me, I'm deleting the game
