Derrick sounds incredibly astute and well-versed on the 80's explosion of crack in the inner city. Derrick is a very smart and empathetic man, and I wish him well. He hit on something that isn't talked about much here but I'd been curious about. Very well-intentioned people who offer food or clothes or cleaning supplies might be making it too easy to stay there, or not do anything -- actually doing the disenfranchised more harm than good, because they don't have incentive. Even he admits that. But how does society help these people climb out of these dark holes? It is profoundly sad.

I’m 22 and even though my circumstances are way different, I can relate to him. Hope he gets to a better place

Love the videos mark, I have an idea maybe you could Incorporate into your videos. What if you were to bring multiple people in similar backgrounds/ situations to have conversations. I feel like they would learn from one another and can take each other from their own story. Just an idea. Keep doing a good service mark!
