Personally I think the game is a real disappointment - it’s still a fun action game, but it’s easily the worst of the series

@@jermainewright1757 that wasn’t really my issue with the game - if I was going to complain about anything story wise it would be the way Jeanne was treated…it was more just the way the game felt, much clunkier than the others somehow
Love how everyone here in the replies disagrees but says the game is clunky and the story isn't great. Like be real, the gameplay isn't anything special either. If anything, it's too basic and samey. The game relies too heavily on Infernals and with Viola when you only have Cheshire, this game is actually terrible. This game has no middle ground because it's trying to be too casual and yet challenging in the worst way.
Bayo - multiple options, insane movements choices, enemies designed specifically for her
Viola - tight timing, little payoff to her system, risk reward is nonexistent, enemies aren't designed around her, more so against

I don't agree with you on the point that bayonetta care more about other than in other game, like look how she just react to jeanne death in 2 and 3 , and how she just stayed cold heart most of the time while watching her multiverse other version dying one by one. In fact i can't even recongnize her, she felt different on how she interact with other especially jeanne, what a mess. I also think it's because i played all the games in japanese and the VA didn't changed and she was more "emotional" in her style, like just compare bayo 2 when loki makes a joke on bayo in english and japanese or even when she saved jeanne totally different feeling of the character. But in the 3 it's not the same character at all. I really hate this game for how bayo felt, she's not the girl we love

@@shulymaru apparently Kamiya has confirmed it was young Cereza because in the cutscene she met Viola, she shows the Bayonetta figurine, which he said only young Cereza has after she returned to her universe

We also see that she has Loki cards, so did she pass through bayo 2 event and if it's the case, it means there is multi verse version of Loki or did she meet him after our bayo 2 event and then in another circumstances. I hope those question will get answered by the next games
In terms of story this game was a huge Letdown, It really feels like the writers added multiverse stuff into the story because they thought it would be cool without thinking about how it would impact the story, we barely even got to see many versions of bayonetta we only got to see a few, every single multiverse bayonetta that was introduced like the popstar one and the French top hat one just get a few min of screen time to look cool and then they just die.
I dont have a problem with bayonetta and luka being a canon couple even though I disagree with it heavily, the problem is there's just no buildup, it just feels like it comes out of nowhere and the reveal of luka's werewolf form was just bonkers and stupid for lack of a better word.
in general bayonetta just felt very nerfed in 3, both bayonetta and jeanne in the past have been shown to have extreme physical capabilities and absurd reaction times, I do think it would be possible for bayonetta and jeanne to be killed by singularity but certainly not in the way that they were in the ending, speaking of the ending...yeah its terrible, Bayonetta being killed by a villain who barely got any depth besides **DESTROY THE MULTIVERSE** **ONE SINGLE EXACT TRUTH**
And one final boss fight followed by bayonetta's...ghost(I guess) passing off the name bayonetta to viola Really feels like the worst way to end a story that was already bad...I have a lot more to say but I think its good to end off here, TLDR, bayo 3's story sucks.
Love Bayonetta 3 but the story and this Bayonetta that we play is different from before. Seeing all the other Bayonetta versions die and Bayonetta 3 just stands there and do absolutely nothing is annoying and the ending was the worst to top it all off. I still love Bayonetta.

Regarding the Jeanne sections, you can actually use her witch time, its just that the window to use it is very strict since you have to use moth within to proc it, just like in the other two games. Nice review btw
Me too sitting here 2 wewks after release finished it 2 times and cant believe that it disappoints me that much.. its not a terrible game cause i had my fun moments really. The end is terrible and im not sure platinum games will get back to theire (golden ages) MGS Rising 2 could be a option, but this will never happen sadly. NEXT: Stellar Blade 👍

i really wish they sticked to only timeline plots the whole universe stuff is cool but im drained from seeing it all over different media it isnt a cool concept anymore

I agree completely singularity had no fucking motivation lmao. But Aesir in 2 did, he wanted to recollect his eyes of the world ( to prepare for what comes next) and then balder took his spirit in which is slowly making him mad which leads to the events in 1 all over again. So balder/aesir great and it’s explained and done. But singularity was awful lol also he’s fucking human, at not one single point did they mention how a mortal obtained godlike powers unknown to paradiso & inferno. Ending was also bad, loved the music and gameplay tho I’ll forever be a bayonetta stan & I’m glad to know our bayonetta went home just before cereza was dragged to hell lol

The artstyle complain reared it's ugly head majorly for me in the final battle because having the ugly teal colour as Singularity's entire motif caused his moves to blend into the background.
Edit: It's not supposed to be Cereza from the first game, her design is just a callback to her design as a kid.

@@shizukagozen777 no, it is not for sure that this Bayonetta 3 is little Cereza from 1. Bayo 1 saying the line "you didn't cry while I was gone, did you?" proves nothing. Also, how tf Bayo 1 would know that? Also (x2), if she knew, she didn't react properly at all. If Kamiya had to say Bayo 3 is little Cereza, ok, but that's not an "of course" info.

i'm confused, why do people keep saying you can't play as jeanne? she unlockable, is it harder to unlock her than just beating the game?
You can’t play her in main chapters like you could in 1&2. You can only play her in remnant chapters…

@@mikesamillion27 wow i stand corrected. The constant rodin fight must have made me think she was available in all chapters. That is wak for a second I even considered doing a whole viola run but that isn't even possible, which might be a blessing.

Just got thru finishing my 1st play-thru of Bayo 3 & am now working on my 2nd run - which I am actually enjoying BETTER.
While I definitely had a lot of issues with this story, I do admire the BALLS of the creators to "kill their darlings" with such abandon. Viola is a mid character, tho, & I have very little interest in her potentially being the MAIN star of Bayonetta 4. I need my Bayos to be confidently O.P., have glasses, be crazy+sexy+cool, & speak with a British accent, lol! 💋🇬🇧
I personally love this game! Not disappointed at all! But then again, I enjoy stuff that most people hate, like Final Fantast X-2 and XIII. Which I love a lot.
