His life, his home, his possessions were all owned by the Church, not by him. His desperation to gain that $600 was not because he believed it would be beneficial, but because the Church wanted it. He saw orphans and poor abused dogs, and he funded orphanages and believed in justice and fairness, he was genuinely a good man. I have to disagree with your take on this. He controlled Faith Center, not the other way around. As he stated when he became pastor one of the conditions was that the church board had to unanimously approve him and then all resign. He mentioned from time to time the church board but who was ever on it? If it even existed afterword it seems in name only that functioned like a rubber stamp to his exclusive will. You can question his sincerity, but not his intellect, a very conflicted man in a lot of ways who can teach on something quite fascinating than the next minute try to guilt you into giving money above and beyond any reality found in biblical scripture a teacher, actor and business man wrapped in bubble of anger and religious duality. he had a great understanding of Good Gospel Music. The Statesmen were some of the best.
KDOC # 56 ! 😎
He would smoke cigars as well as he had videos of him and women hanging out together
And they would show his race horses prancing around
@@johnnym4400 With Playboy Playmates 😆
he looks like roger daltrey
I only watched this guy because there was nothing else to watch I liked his temper tantrums. Remember the On TV dish people.
Worth over a million when he died...not bad!
might as well start right here folks: 28:50
THIS GUY WAS BAT SHIT CRAZY AND JUST WANTED MONEY...LOTS AND LOTS OF MONEY
YEA BUT HE WAS ALSO VERY WISE
@@kenisfree8410 JUST ANOTHER CON ARTIST USING GOD TO GET MONEY....LOTS AND LOTS OF MONEY
I want to see his broadcasts on the 12 Tribes, on the Pyramids and others on UA-cam. Don't they know how much money that could bring in. Why are they not available?
The faces of the Voices of Faith were never shown on the University Network in that state of emotion... He considered that exploitative and wouldn't do it. Only his depth of emotion went out on the air. He wanted the focus on God's Word and its importance to its teacher.
The last hour of every fight was always the hardest. That used to happen over and over again; the Devil would always attack the hardest when the victory was the closest (victory defined as making the budget in pledges.)
Oz....I was there physically.
From the first month's the beginning of the real total transformation from a FM radio station 99.5 and CH30 television entity....station's in collapse, under heavy debts, could not pay back the money to the bank.. Millions in loans...even sadly people in the congregation their home's in danger of being taken.
EuGENE Scott came not to be a pastor, but figure out how to get the bank paid.
I am a Christian but in the end his inner Demons took over an d the God he supposedly preached had already left the building.
Daniel...You are totally correct, as a former voice of faith, 99.5 FM employee, an intern minister, I saw the beginning, what happened behind the scenes, good and bad.....
And the coming collapse.
Glad you also kept the faith in Christ alone... amen
Well said
Very well stated
Early 1980s, not much on TV...found Dr Scott on Ch 30 San Bernadino Station. His battles with the feds was classic. Im convinced Howard Stern copied this from him and its the same type of thing that made Howard Stern famous from the early 1990s when he battled the FCC.
...and Jake Hess & Son...come to Jesus song...just amazing
I sure miss his teachings !!!
Deuteronomy 13
Psalm 37 & 38
Psalm 84 & 85
Psalm 85 : 08 I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
0:50 EXODUS 5 : 1
And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.
roll the tape!
My mom was like turn that hypocrite off I just laughed at him
He was real, and not full of B.S.
First he reminded me of Jimmy Savile but i guess hes a different character. All i can say is: holy guacamole. America. :)
Always money, IF you read the bible it TELLS you it is nothing to do with money, these cretins ALWAYS bring it to the money, stop watching them, they have no shame
6:24 It's Tex and Edna Boyle from the Organ Emporium.
😆
I wonder if Scott behaved worse due to the presence of Herzog's camera? By worse I mean a worse narcissist than he would normally be.
No, that was his behavior on or off camera...I was working there before, during and after this interview was made .... it's true
Don't call those phone numbers lol... they changed. The one at the bottom is still the business number (different area code) but that's reserved for that use and international use only, where the 800 number is unavailable. The number to call is 1-800-338-3030. Has been for at least 37 years, but the documentary predates that.
I think the gospel singers are the most disturbing part.
How does one make soul music so…soulless?
anyone else see rod Stewart and donald trump in him?
No, no one else sees that.
@@fedup1940 I'll jump man, don't push me 'cos I'll jump. Jump I will!!!!
Gospel great Jake Hess and members of his family can be seen in this film. Hess's eyes give him away.
Heat up your dinner, Otto, you'll enjoy it more.
Wow... Jake Hess! What song is that he is singing?
Heading Home... an old Statesmen number
A friend spotted him in one of the few Rose Bowl luxury boxes with a bevy of topless women and bags of white powder.
Does anyone have Scott’s show theme song (“I Don’t Like It”)?
The path to damnation is paved with compromise.
Who are the two creepers singing?
Another textbook narcissism case study. Same as the President.
that dude was a bona fied ding bat
This Man Hated not Loving at ALL.
This is gross. Creepy.
JP Miller playbook.
Abusive. This is disgusting.
Andreas C. You are a goof , stay delusional my friend
Andreas C.
Agreed.
It was show business. Gene Scott was a master showman.
Did he ever tell the ending to that Rabbit Story??
California was his home? Wow, what a coincidence.
In the '80s, I would watch him for hours at a time. If you listened to his teaching (that means not just hearing him but actually listening) he made me a better Christian and thirty years later I still recall many of the things he taught us and warned us about. He would have loved Trump (and so so I).
He was an amazing man of faith, intellect and reason.
Gesundheit
Dirk... You've read about Sampson...right??
Dr EuGENE Scott was weak in the same way, I was there from the beginning...on the ministry staff from the beginning...it lead to his death by cancer eventually.
Involved other issues as well, you can't hide truth from God, without paying for it...
He died in terrible shape with cancer and married to a prostitute.
God's will be done.
Amen Christ Jesus.
Intellectuals don't make a living conning the gullible out of their money.
