Damn! This was really helpful. The last part about movies and learning an entirely different culture through language sounds so amazing.
This video is so well detailed and super helpful !! Knowing another language along with English definitely adds a lot of value. Thank you for sharing your experience.
You really made a very informative video on the subject! Thank you Akshu!!
True my many students got a PR by french language.
Very useful info for those who are looking forward to apply for PR Canada. Very well presented 👏👏
Hello, is clb 9 is a must for the ielts / english test? How about like clb 8?
Hi, CLB 9 is mandatory. Anything lesser will not give you the first language points ! You need CLB 9 in all the 4 bands : reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Please let know anybody whats the education requirements as I have started studying french but i dont have bachelor’s degree
Hi, you need to have a minimum of secondary certificate, but the higher education you have you will get higher CRS points.
Apart from that, you also need to have 1 year skilled work experience.
I have French B2 and Ielts 8.0, but I only have a 2 years diploma not bachelor, is that enough to be eligible for French route?
@@phamtranminhngoc9049 have you written TEF or TCF exam? With NCLC 7 and 2 years diploma and 1 year atleast of work, you will be eligible for the pathway.
so you said we don't get additional 50 points if you have Clb 5 instead of 7 but are we still eligible for French speaking category though??
Hi Sanyam, in order to be eligible for the French proficiency draws with low CRS cut offs, you need to get the additional 50 points by scoring NCLC 7. With NCLC 5, you just 4 extra points for second language, but that doesn't make you eligible for the French pathway.
Hi where does a beginner in french start from , is it possible to study french for 6 months and take the exam . What resources can you recommend?
Hi, ua-cam.com/video/TqLAL38IssM/v-deo.htmlsi=f99Kb6HaAyvFrtlh please watch this video to understand if you can do it in 6 months.
You can schedule a call with me, I can help you chalk out a realistic plan for the entire journey. :)
Hi, Will this category based French Language Proficiency pathway stay in 2025? Or will it be cancelled in future? As I don't wanna put all that effort into learning only for this to disappear.
Hi Aiden, I totally understand the uncertainty, but IRCC themselves have assured that they intend to bring in more French speakers into the country atleast up until 2026, French pathway is definitely going to be one the major pathways they will invite.

Check this out to understand their plan for the next 3 years and don't worry, you're absolutely on the right path by learning French for the immigration process. Good luck :)
Hi, for french category , do i need ielts too? And if then is there any proper requirement like 7,8 BANDS like this. As am graduated from india and i have done diploma here, so do i need to go for WES as well for french category?
Hi, you need at least a 7 band in IELTS for your first language. The higher your score, the more CRS points you earn.
If you have a diploma from a Canadian institution, you usually don’t need an ECA - WES certification, since it’s your highest level of education and will be used to claim points in Express Entry (French pathway).
Hey Akshu, for the exam can we pronounce the 'R' same way alike english or it should be 'Kh' actual sound? Thanks
Hi Gitesh, correct pronunciation of French alphabets and words are v important for expression orale, as specific marks are allocated for this. They do understand it's hard to talk like a native speaker, so they wouldn't expect that but it's important to avoid sounding like it's an English accent.
For one year work experience is there any particular level of teer required or teer 4 and teer 5 also counts.
Hi, you need to have a minimum of 1 year experience in the skilled category, NOC 0, 1, 2 or 3.
Hi, i was reading the requirements for the french stream. I think you need to have a bachelor's degree to be considered in this stream + 1 year's experience.
Hey, you need a minimum of secondary education to be eligible for express entry. You'd be eligible with secondary education, but receive only 30 points for Education whereas for a Bachelor's you'll receive 90 points. + like you mentioned, one year of work experience atleast.

Hi, I want to ask do I need a bachelor degree to be eligible for this program?
Hey, to become eligible for the Express entry route, you need a certificate, diploma or a bachelors degree. For the French route, you need to make an Express Entry profile and meet with the minimum requirements.

Hello, can be my work experience as a Portuguese tutor since I have a bachelor's in accounting? (I do not have any degree or course related to tutoring Portuguese, but I have 3 years of experience already) Thank you!
Hi, if your job aligns with any skilled job description in NOC 0,1,2 or 3, your 3 years of work experience will be valid. Please verify your NOC code and with a bachelor's degree (WES equivalency) you will be eligible for the French pathway.
Will they remove this category in future because I will graduate in 2026 and if I start now I’m scared what if it changes and they remove this stream
Hi, I can understand your concern. IRCC has shared their immigration plan where they plan to invite more people through the French invite in 2025 and 2026. You don't have to worry if you start now and will complete the exam by next year end, you will be safe.
Please watch this video to understand more in detail about it. :)

Edit : One year work experience is a requirement for making the Express Entry profile. So for the French pathway, along with NCLC 7, you will need to have 1 year experience because you need to make an express entry profile to become eligible.
One year degree or two years degree or Bachelor's is a minimum requirement.
@@teftalkswithakshu Thank you so much .But why the education requirement is not clearly mentioned ma’am? If you know any link where the education requirement is mentioned kindly please share it on your description or comment box. Please. Currently I am doing 2 year course here in canada
Thanks for sharing ! Work experience is required to apply for pr after clearing tef ?
@@teftalkswithakshu Hello, what kind of work? I have worked as concierge will that count or I need a NOc B job.
I don’t have bachelors. Do i need to have bachelors degree to be eligible to in this french category
The minimum requirement for an express entry profile for french category is secondary education, the higher education you have, you will receive more CRS points. It depends on your profile :)
Do we need to have skilled job to apply for it? I have clb 7 in french and very eager to get my PR
Hi, You need to have a minimum of one year experience in skilled job - NOC 0,1,2,3.
@@teftalkswithakshu rhank you. I have everything except the skilled experience. I even have good score in french as am a french speaker.
What's the application processing time for French category PR?
An estimate of 4-6 months according IRCC and various other sources. Again, that depends if you're an inland or outland applicant and other factors.
Can we file pr french route by living in Ontario or we have to live in Quebec for that?
Hi Abhinav, you can apply for PR through French language route from anywhere in the world as long as you have the required scores, i.e NCLC 7. Doesn't require you to live in Quebec specifically for this pathway.
How much time did it take you to get the desired scores?
Hi Sonali, it took me about 13 months to get NCLC 7 in all 4 four sections!
So,it is mandatory to get 9band on IELTS?
Hi, you need to score a CLB 9 in IELTS which is equivalent to L - 8, R - 7, W - 7, S - 7 in the exam to attain the first language points.
Salut.. Now I'm in India and I'm coming to Montreal in January i have 5 months for learning French.. Can you guide me how i start from zero.. Which type of things i should learn first and tell me how much french i can learn in five months

I did my graduation from India and have 1 year work experience.Plus I also know French Till B2 level and can clear TEF. So is it possible that I can apply for express entry And get PR from India
Hi Aman, your profile sounds exactly like mine. Yes, its definitely possible to apply from India.
But one year experience is compulsory mam you are saying no work experience is compulsory?
Where did u see that requirement can u share any link or something for that.
@@devattri9972 without work experience you cannot create express entry profile buddy either CEC OR Foreign Worker
Hi Rutik, there's no compulsory work experience required for French pathway. Since the cut offs are pretty low for this stream, you just need to have a NCLC 7 in French and you're good to go. All other things will just give you added CRS points.
French falls under the category-based draw, so one must be eligible for express entry, which requires at least 1 year of work experience in teer levels 0-3.
a tonne of money is an important requirement.
Well, that truly depends on your preparation and where you choose to invest the money. The process can be frugal as well, imo.
Imp : You need a minimum of secondary education to be eligible for express entry. Additionally, one year work experience is also required.
