Dutchie Man is a Philadelphia legend and a pioneer to the rap scene we have today. As a foundational member of Major Figgas his contribution was immediate, abrupt and changed the lens through which Philly MCs were viewed. His sing-songy flows, amazing hooks, out of this world descriptiveness and dense yet relatable lyrical content made him a standout not only in MF, but Philadelphia at large. He joins us today to tell his entire life story, speak on the creation of Major Figgas, salutes Gillie & Wallo for their success, and gives props to musical architects such as Stevie G., Siddiq and Real Rolla. He also discusses being the bridge from Philadelphia to Cash Money Records, gives color to his relationships with Baby, Wayne and Slim and answers the age old question DID GILLIE WRITE FOR LIL WAYNE?
This interview is also filled with untold stories about Jay Z, Nas, Lil Wayne and Lil Kim. And he also sets the record straight on if he and Lil Kim were ever more than just friends and collaborators. This is BY FAR one of our greatest episodes of all time. Stay tuned for part 2 coming very very soon.

Dutchie is well spoken, intelligent his words resonate, he came up through the trenches. He is the realist nigga of his era. I respect his truth and I salute him for being vulnerable enough to share his truth. ❤❤❤❤❤
realest of his era??????????????????? lmaooooooooooooooooooooooo STOP it! you must know him personally and being BIASE
🔥🔥🔥🔥 Dope interview if you grew up in the time period he talking Dutch probably one of the best interviews from that era
Great interview…🔥🔥🔥I really enjoyed this
Dutch in my top 5 of Philly easy
Ya top 5 must be ass
Great interview 🔥🔥🔥
Good interview. But before the figgas there was no void. You had 100x, Ruggedness and Mad Drama The Man they call Lux..Tracey Lee and last but not least..shout out to RAM Squad they held philly down several summers.
Thank yall both for the the city! And yall can't stop it's very needed especially in life not just HIP HOP
Dope interview....need to get Spade or Liva up there next. #MajorFiggas #DutchAndSpade
Great fucking interview 🫡 Chiddy don’t miss

Factz
Shot out to reed st we had a ball at my house 👍🏾
1:15:27 but gillie spit the same verse on independence day (come thru i think it was) where he dissed beans with the "i wasnt eating had a tummy ache so i copped more guns and got my money straight now n!99as wanna hate..." He just didn't say "the roc wanna hate" or say beans name but u can tell its about him cuz he said the same verse with the jeans n shoes and all that .
~Damn...thats what Gillie was talking bout ...so it makes sense....So Major Figures was under Un...when Un vs Jay Z beef was brewing...LOLOLOL....I never knew....LOL...That's why it safer to come in the Game With your own created team... because I could be caught in beef that ain't yours and that could stunt your progression and success....all up in the Crossfire and don't know what the War about...LOLOLOL...its f#### up...lolol...but that's how people become victims and innocent bystanders, not studying the field......LOL...
Major Figures was supposed to be State Property.... because Jay woulda signed em first....lol...
Major Figures could've been the Poster Children of Philly's Rap scene and be recognized Globally....if yall signed to Jay Z...LOLOL..
But understand U gotta follow Loyalty but y'all shoulda studied who was who before y'all signed with Un... because Un don't look like he had a Strong-Power-Support in the Industry....
Because if U don't got some type of Power-Support, U like a sitting Duck in the Industry...waiting to get targeted ...and sink sunken...This a Cold Business World 🌍...your own family could do U in for Money....So when Money come into play dont expect people to be Morally-sane when Money 🤑 flashing in they face...LOLOLOL...Always study the field and the contract before U sign.... because U never know the bullsh## and catch 22 that come wit it, if U don't study it..... LOLOLOL...I don't care how broke U is...study that sh## and if its not what U want don't sign that sh##...LOLOLOL...Feel free to Disagree...lol
1LOVE
1LOVE..
Facts all those things created the beef. Major figgas turns down a deal with rocafella..then dutch & spade end up at label that (as u mentioned) starts to beef with Jay.. they are already mad at Jay too because of the failed deal and now they are creating state property (and exact copy of major figgas) ... All that created the situation for the beef to start and in 2001 between Jay saying figgas couldn't perform at powerhouse and the beans & Gillie argument in the radio it was a wrap after that the beef was on
Jay was already on "fuk Dem n!99@$" for not signing to him .. so it was only natural for them to throw shots back .. unfortunately Warner bros & entertainment/interscope didn't really know how to market them and soon state property would outshine the figgas/dutch&spade. Jay really had the power in the industry at the time.. not taking that deal was a bad look for the figgas.. especially since the cash money deal never came through either
You gotta realize tho.. they couldn't see the future. Untertainment was looked at as a great label to be on. It's biggie label . And Cameron over there n stuff. How could they possibly know that Warner bros And untertainment would both fumble the ball... Even epic records kinda didnt know what to do with Phillys most wanted which is why they only put out the two records.
I'm sure they thought Warner was going to give them a platinum album. I think bec they had the other deals (gilly at Suave house, ab Liva at aftermath, dutch&spade on untertainment) they thought for sure these companies would help them stay on top of the game.. but they really didn't.
Whenever they are asked about it they all say " We didn't know Jay-Z was going to be THAT big .. when we met him he wasn't on that level yet.." (because it was B4 hard knock life n all that)
1:18:50 😮damn thats crazy
Dutch a good dude
The problem in Philly with hiphop scene same in VA idont know y seems like they dont get right with each other sound like playa hatin.
Y Philly hiphop headz don't mention the rootz at all or bohdema black thought good movement not only dy jazzy jeff n Fresh prince n steady b.
Cause they not street rappers
Cause with all due respect, they legends but they not the streets
Definitely not gonna big up Steady B 🐀
@@phillybul215if you really listen Black Thought rhymes really do be “street shit) just super smart 🤷🏾♂️
4:30 there was RAM squad but they seemed more .. idk .. they was more hustlers than musicians.. figgas was like on top of they're bars
Come on Dutchman Houston is not the home of Syrup...Philly was drinking Syrup since the 60s brody.....we called it pancakes and syrup in the early 80s... You got to get some Philly history from the old heads
Dutchie is the hottest in major figgas he's what gilly is tryna be he's the most entertaining if you reading this Dutch fuck is you waiting for bro pop out😊
Grape Western is a cheap Wine....not Champagne
Why Tuff Crew never mentioned?
I mean sometimes they mention a tuff crew or a Ram squad ..but the tough crew was part of the "10 years before era" the EST , schooly D etc Era . Ram squad I think doesn't get mentioned cuz they were more so hustlers than musicians so that's probably why they don't get mentioned a lot. I noticed they decided to mention NAMM brigade which is dope.. the original meek mill n all that
Or da youngstas
My mom told me they was sipping lean in Philly since the 80’s……. Got it off J st
You can tell who from philly and who aint in these comments LOL...
1:13:24 aint that dutchie? Give em a hand they got criminal records but listen young buck i got a criminal record..
🫡 #215
why you rapping scrap figga fa life did a dime the first week 😂😂
- Young Gunna
"young scrap? You mean young scrapes cuz if you keep talking shit they gonna be scraping y'all faces off something.." - spade o
I like when they got Spittage goin at Chris on that one track.. "y'all don't want no parts of me, I pack shitt that will put ur face where ur heart should be .. shouldve never mentioned the low cuz you know like I know you ain't sending shitt thru the low.." and he says "I'ma sit back and chill and let gill put the Mac to beanie" 😂😂😂 but my favorite from the whole beef was Dutch & bump dissing beans n young guns. "..beans you ain't nothing but a broad st fag. MPC pussy, beats for bitches! And all ur verses starting to sound like little chris'.s"
Y do Major Figgaz somehow always believe that it wasn't any Hip Hop Poppin in Philly B4 thm.... Philly had RAM Squad for the Streets... DOD...The Cartel...100 X...da youngstas....the Roots...and alot more
Cuz all those groups are a lot older except for maybe ram squad.. They just mean like they were originators have that time.. they were the ones popping when no one else had done it like that with the mixtapes n CDs.. state property came later .. ram squad was looked at more as hustlers than rappers. Figgas had an updated flow and focused on bars .
But of course there were groups before dutch even talks about how spade and bump were in other groups before the figgas
