    Great tutorial. I came across this whilst looking for an entirely different tutorial and I'm glad I found it as it's so useful.
    I was looking for a way to deal with curves on silk satin. I can't cut notches or it will fray. A very tricky issue to overcome.
    Anyway, thank you for this video. Bias tape may be a solution for my issue. Who knows.

    Is there a formula to estimate how much material you will need? For example, how much material is needed to to make 10 yds of 1"-wide strips?

    Have you ever considered putting some sheet metal under your cutting mat and using magnets to hold the fabric down?

      Yes, I understand your point, no, I did not, it sounds a little inconvenience if I do not have the right tools that have been tested. I am fairly comfortable doing this, I have become accustomed to it. However, thank you for the advice.

      I typically purchase my professional grade sewing tools from stores that sell industrial sewing machines and tools. It is likely that there is one in your area as well. In my case, it is located in the downtown area of Los Angeles. The Ace Sewing Supply Company.
