Restuarants do use dried rice noodles.
They just soak in hot water and then rinse in cold water, then they have them on hand for stir frying.
I have never found flat rice noodles that are dried to ever hit the same lovely silky texture that fresh ones seem to! I might need to try some alternate methods etc.

Love those flat rice noodles in Asian dishes, agree they are so much better than dried rice vermicelli that l only use for Singapore noodles.

The flat noodles in Asian shop are above the fresh veggies in the open frig usually really cheap...
Also U might fine a season spice also in the Asian but they do have ones in soup with chicken and corn...
Maybe you should look at demo houses out west for the stove...

I wrap my tortillas in a dry towel and I love it because it absorbed any water but kept them super warm and soft. I love your French bread. Looks yummy!
I do that with my flour tortillas! but I thought the corn ones needed the water/steam to stay soft, but I am not at all experienced with it lol.

Definitely more of an American thing, and I don't think we use it quite the same way its intended lol, but we love it, it just has such a nice flavour profile in so many things!

Is that the South African Robertson’s Salt & Vinegar? It was always a staple for us. Funny to see you use that. If you buy more at the South African shop, you’ll have to get some Iwisa ‘pap’ to try. Then you also need the All Gold canned tomato and onions :)

I love it when Daryll showcases the plates after they are done. It makes me think of the ladies who show off the prizes on "The Price is Right." 😂Every time I see you make all these meals from scratch Nyssa, I'm like, we will have takeout tonight. LOL Now when my children were young, I cooked homemade, but I was able too, not now, I have so many medical problems, it's hard for me to stand for a long period of time. So we eat out quite often.

I use two pie plates (one inverted to use as a lid) when I make tortillas to keep them warm and soft.
oh, that makes sense! though I don't have much in the way of pie plates atm, but actually my cast iron saucepan might work... hrmmm, I'll have to think hehe :D

Just a tip. Wizz some salt up in the Thermomix. Keep the powdered salt in an airtight container. It’s so much better with popcorn, it really sticks. You’re an amazing cook!
It definitely sticks to the popcorn better! I think that's what makes the bacon seasoning so good too, because I whizz all the salt and all the flavours into a powder!

Instead of French bread I use a ciabatta roll, slice open like a hamburger bun, put the topping on in the middle, then freeze
That would work too, and would be less of an issue if they flatten out then too, I just need to figure out the ideal weight, but my baguette pans are at the post office today, I think that will help me judge size!
@@OurSmallFootprint I can’t get the hang of French bread. I’m in Texas and we are hot and dry or hot and the humidity in the house is 60%. It is almost like there is no middle ground.

You just don’t see anyone selling it. And it’s not in the grocery stores. Which is kind of weird to me! Can’t wait to see the next video ❤❤❤
I find paw paw and similar is almost so sweet its too far gone! the texture is not really to my liking either, hehe, I'm not a fan of soft soft fruit, I like things firm hehe :D

Nyssa, there are wood stove flue adapters for changing from one size to another. Maybe you can research what you have and what you want to see if there is an adapter that meets your needs.
Oh, that is an idea, its that its narrower than a standard flue that is tripping us up, but maybe I can get a flange to swap the sizes, I'll have to have a look!

Hello an omg iffn I evr go to Australia I'm coming nto ur house to eat. Iffn I sneak in line with the kids mayb u won't notice.... 😂 Heeheehee that stir fry looks yummy yum.... I love oriental food. Mostly Chinese or Japanese. But you. An ur French loaves of bread I would cut them down the middle an make sandwiches with them an slice them up so Evryone gets one. Yum

I'm still struggling with sourdough atm, after getting it near perfect before the weather heated up, I just can't seem to get it going again now, oh well, instant yeast for the moment lol.
Everything looks delicious as usual but you quickly passed by that luscious pico de gallo. Tomatoes, avacado, jalapenos, onions, lime juice…….anything I’m missing?
That's it! and all to taste, I like to dice the tomatoes roughly, the jalapenos and onions really nice and fine and then am generous with the lime juice, oh I probably added a couple of good pinches of salt too! Then just diced the avocado through it and stirred it. :D
