Imagine being GLaDOS and watching Chell defy the laws of everything without even touching the prized portal gun.
Trying so hard to test the damn portals and she just refuses to do so.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? HOW ARE YOU DOING THAT? THIS WASN'T SUPPOSSED TO HAPPEN! WHAT! HOW!"
aaaaaaaah! what are you doing? hold on, i might have a glitch in my observation matrix...
I don't think she would be upset. Doing science is what she craves, not having people do the puzzels the intended way.

I love the fact that the physics can be so serious at times that blocking the door with an object actually works
It would be so awesome if GLaDOS acknowledges it too, since that seems like a very realistic tactic people would actually use.
@@piotr4198 There is at least one chamber where you can legitimately jam a cube in a door, pass through the door then throw it back into the previous room, causing yourself to become completely stuck. GLaDOS will congratulate you on dooming yourself before then opening the door and letting you go back.
That's what's delaying the release of Star Citizen ;) Cos with such serious physics they've implemented it creates tons of loopholes for people to abuse. It's an endless mess.

I will tell you more - in TF2, a door can get stuck on a Demoman's Pipe grenade, if timed perfectly. Then the door closes, once the grenade explodes. I've seen it in one youtube video.

I like to think that it's just normal for glados to watch test subjects like chell scale up a wall using a can of beans and just clipping thru walls while A-posing
GlaDOS may even be fine with it because she knows she has a special test subject that she can execute more deadly tests upon.

Little correction. It was known that 14 Portals was the limit 5 minutes after we revealed the 15 portal "Least Portals" run. Me and Jukspa have tried to clip through the fan in e01 but couldn't get it after an hour of slamming our face against objects, so we didn't try further since the run was almost complete at that point. I did a live reveal on my Twitch channel and mentioned our failure, and then XeiZ went ingame and found a way to do it 5 minutes after the run was over.
No one cared enough to re-do it, so that info has been somewhat lost to time apparently.

Repent of your sins and believe on Adonai Jesus Christ, believe in your heart that He has died for sins and rose from the tomb on the third day and let the Holy Spirit within you, and you shall be saved.

Evidence for Jesus Christ’s existence, crucifixion, and disappearance from the tomb (He rose from it):
The Lord Jesus Christ did exist, gathered disciples, and was crucified and went missing from the tomb. To argue about wether He was taken from the grave or rose from it, is an argument a skeptic can make. Because well if you disregard the eye witness testimony of the disciples and there willingness to die for Christ, and humans won’t die for something they know is a lie, when Peter is pinned upside down to that cross, he could have said that it was a fake, but He didn’t because it wasn’t, what care would he have about death in this world if he knew for a fact he had assurance of a life in another, Jesus Christ did rise from the tomb and is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Now the evidence for the Lord Jesus Christ’s existence really isn’t hard to find a multitude of non-Christian scholars and historians mention Him within 150 years after the time of His life. One such is Tacitus a Roman historian who reported on emperor nero’s decision to blame the Christians for the fire that had destroyed rome in 64 AD. Tacitus wrote:
“Nero fastened the guilt ... on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of ... Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judaea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome…”
In this Tacitus makes reference to not only Christians, but Christ calling Him Christus and confirming the Gospels going on to say that He suffered the extreme penalty (crucifixion) under the reign of Tiberius and by the sentence of Pontius Pilate, which like I said confirms the Gospels narrative.
Another important source of evidence about Jesus and early Christianity can be found in the letters of Pliny the Younger to Emperor Trajan. Pliny was the Roman governor of Bithynia in Asia Minor. In one of his letters, dated around A.D. 112, he asks Trajan's advice about the appropriate way to conduct legal proceedings against those accused of being Christians. Pliny says that he needed to consult the emperor about this issue because a great multitude of every age, class, and sex stood accused of Christianity. At one point in his letter, Pliny relates some of the information he has learned about these Christians:
“They were in the habit of meeting on a certain fixed day before it was light, when they sang in alternate verses a hymn to Christ, as to a god, and bound themselves by a solemn oath, not to any wicked deeds, but never to commit any fraud, theft or adultery, never to falsify their word, nor deny a trust when they should be called upon to deliver it up; after which it was their custom to separate, and then reassemble to partake of food - but food of an ordinary and innocent kind.”
This passage provides a number of interesting insights into the beliefs and practices of early Christians. First, we see that Christians regularly met on a certain fixed day for worship. Second, their worship was directed to Christ, demonstrating that they firmly believed in His divinity. Furthermore, one scholar interprets Pliny's statement that hymns were sung to Christ, "as to a god", as a reference to the rather distinctive fact that, "unlike other gods who were worshipped, Christ was a person who had lived on earth." If this interpretation is correct, Pliny understood that Christians were worshipping an actual historical person as God! Of course, this agrees perfectly with the New Testament doctrine that Jesus was both God and man.
You may have heard of the scholar Flavius Josephus who mentioned James as being the brother of the Lord Jesus Christ, which matches what Paul said calling James “The Lord’s brother” and there is another document that Josephus may have written which goes:
“About this time there lived Jesus, a wise man, if indeed one ought to call him a man. For he ... wrought surprising feats.... He was the Christ. When Pilate ...condemned him to be crucified, those who had . . . come to love him did not give up their affection for him. On the third day he appeared ... restored to life.... And the tribe of Christians ... has ... not disappeared.”
Now it’s up to debate wether this is the entirely original document of what Josephus wrote, or if a Christian had edited it. But regardless he wrote about the Lord Jesus Christ. Wether it was negative or positive like the possible document is. Anyways there are many other statements, documents, letters, and writings of all sorts from the ancient world talking about the Lord Jesus Christ and there is not one question if He was a real person or if He was crucified and went missing from the grave. That is clear as day, He is a real person, was crucified, and went missing from the grave. And He did rise from the grave. And for more evidence of the Lord Jesus Christ, there’s the Bible and you see there is no evidence the Bible is corrupted, a lie, created by the Roman government, folktale. It is the recount of the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, now wether you want to believe it is up to you. And what profit was there in spreading Christianity, All the early Christian suffered persecution, beatings, and were killed. Another Scholar reported that James the Lord’s Brother was thrown off a building and then stoned to death for spreading the Gospel in Jerusalem. These people went to great lengths even giving their own lives for the Adon Jesus the Christ.

That happened to me as well, I was doing a speedrun to show my friend and in the same area, after you fall off of the weird piston things into the room with the 3 turrets, everything had broken collision.
Now I’m imagining trying things like this in portal 2. Get to the top of those miles high rooms by hopping or glitching. Probably the same glitches don’t work though.
Same with me just a few months ago, in the trap room with 3 turrets, I accidently activated it and had no way to progress beyond the rocket turret room. I had never seen that kind of bug in all the times I played through the game.

That’s not Accelerated Backwards Hopping,
That’s the Backwards Long Jump.
Or at least a similar concept, both require the exploitation of a faulty speed cap to fly across maps. BLJ is more powerful, allowing flight through walls, but needing some stairs. ABH is faster to pull off but cannot break through walls or boundaries.
I mean they're both backwards jumps, but there's no long jump mechanic in Portal, so it's not a backwards long jump by that technicality.
True
This was the first game I got when I built my first gaming PC (other than the sims on the family computer we had when I was a kid) and it's genuinely heartwarming to see it's still very much alive. Still, a shame Valve don't care much about continuing with the series.
I found this channel by watching Karl Jobst, and I've got to say your videos are some of the best written content on UA-cam. Your production skills are also really solid. The music at the ISG part at 6:45 is *chef's kiss* It reminds me of summoningsalt. Keep it up!

Dinoz: - "This is my radio and turret, there are many like them, but these ones are mine."
i accidentally found a similar gitch to this "item save glitch", back in like, 2012/2013, on my xbox 360. er, actually I think it was the same glitch, honestly. I just moved every item to the end of the turret chamber, which allowed me to get this glitch a few times.
its usually semi consistent if you do this, especially if you can get everything through to the end rooms, it just breaks everything. Idk if this is helpful or not.
I love the games that let you broke the entire game using the physics . They remind me my childhood when I tried to make an impossible jump or things like that saying in my mind "maybe if I try it other 100 times, it is possible"
I got the item save glitch naturally during my first playthrough. No clue how, but it was during a chamber I had a ton of trouble with, and the hilarity of it made me chill out, and I was able to see the solution pretty quickly after that. Fun times.
I've never understood why they haven't made 10 more of these.
Beat every level using a minimum of 5000 portals like me then you're really doing something.
I always admire the dedication of these players, it's like giving them one of the most complicated puzzle, with maybe no solution, or with a lot of solutions but that aren't equivalent (so we never know if there is a better way to solve it)
I got such a comfy feeling the moment I started hearing the VA-11 Hall-A music.
i found a way to do the item save glitch very easily but its gonna be hard to explain. go to chamber 16 i find it easiest there go to the part where the to piston things are. place a portal at the right side of the bottom panel and then one in the corner. then walk into the piston until the crosshair no longer lights up, you can check by looking at a portalable surface then grab a cube and then push it through the portal on the piston it could take a couple of try's but once the cube has gone through the grating you will know it has worked
Beating games with glitches just doesn't impress me. Yeah it took lots of time and effort to figure these tricks out, but respectfully, why?
@@dsendall4922 cos its fun
On my 100% playthrough i discovered prop climbing on my own without being told it exists, it was so satisfying getting 0 portals on challenge level 17
When I played this game over a decade ago, I just went for a blind any-speed max-portals run with 0 restarts and 0 glitches. This was a triumph.

Gotta question some life choices...
