I don't necessarily agree with answer regarding marrying an imaam or a previous player. Usually when an individual (not everyone) studies Islam in detail, they have the fear of God in them and is more inclined to treat women better than a 'player', who might not have much fear of Allah or the consequences. Obviously that's not always the case. You should always look at their religion / imaan first and then character etc. Marriage is such a huge commitment so everyone should pray Istikhara to find out if the decision they're making is the right one. Alhamdullilah I've been married to an imaam for a number of years and he treats me with so much kindness and respect, like all women should be treated by their spouses.
