Merry Christmas Autumn and great choice on oil i use Mobile 1 in my ZL1 and C8
Try seeing if the bolts that connect the oil cooler to the oil Pan are tightened all the way. My c7z had an oil leak and it was coming from the oil cooler because the bolts backed out. They were literally finger loose.
You can loosen the filter and the poke the bottom with a punch or a screw driver and hammer and let it drain first. Makes less of a mess to remove it.
Having a boosted engine, you need to vent the crankcase to the atmosphere instead of back into the intake. Even better is put an evac system on it. Youre likely pushing oil thru the crank seals, and maybe the valve covers.

Just make sure you change the oil frequently, that oil looked pretty dark.

Thanks for that! And it’s just 5w-40, says turbo diesel on it but doesn’t mean that’s all it’s for haha

Yes, I had the same oil leaking issue and when watching several videos on UA-cam everything pointed to the same problem, loose bolts and this engines do not come with a gasket, only RTV Silicon for the engine block joint to the oil pan.
And Well, about oil, it possibly has some additives for Diesel engines... and that could be harmful to an engine with high performance mechanics. Be aware of that.. 😉
@@autumnspooner I would use Mobil 1 Supercar 0W-40 for the LT4. Turbo diesel oil has additives for soot and other things that gasoline engines don't need, and vice-versa.
