  • “Requiem” by Iver Kleive is an internationally acclaimed mass, dedicated both to Kleive’s deceased son Alexander, and the terror attack victims and killed soldiers of recent years. In Kleive’s own words, it’s “a tribute to our dear ones that have passed away and to victims of merciless events in our present day”. Based on traditional requiem texts in Latin, it is composed for choir, organ and two soloists.
Not only has “Requiem” received both awards and praise, it has also been performed successfully around Europe in places such as Lubljana, Riga, Klagenfurt, Prague, Budapest, Copenhagen and Oslo.
According to an esteemed music critic, Kleive’s mass is “a piece of work that can take your breath away in the most dramatic parts, but it is also so delicately beautiful, so full of grief and despair that it goes straight to your heart".
Iver Kleive is known for his innovative styles and creations in several genres as an accompanist, arranger, composer and performing artist. He was been an active concert performer in Norway and abroad, and played with several international artists. He has also given a number of solo concerts, including at church music festivals. He has taken part in hundreds of recordings as a studio musician, composer and arranger. In 2017, Kleive was knighted by King Harald of Norway for his contribution to music.
