Who studied Latin here? I did for 4 years and we used to sing this beautiful song with our old profesor in our Latin lessons...gone are those times of youth, fun and happiness
Sa ne bucuram, clipe de sentimente inaltatoare, a unei adolescente incununate de succes si mandrie a lucrului bine facut. Absolvirea liceului, o etapa premergatoare formarii tanarului, o rampa de lansare intr un viitor pregatit temeinic in cei patru ani de studiu. Gaudeamus igitur!
Well as someone who grew up speaking Latin, who went to church in Latin and who studied Latin at the University level under a person who is arguably the foremost Latin scholar in the world (Carmella Franklin - who now works for the Vatican translating rare Latin texts) I probably know what I'm talking about.
Remember that there is a difference between Medieval and Classical Latin. EG,in classical Latin v=w. Notwithstanding, "j" is just a Medieval way to write "i". The pronunciation is always "i".
Pictura aceasta arata cum era in acele vremuri o universitate ,la temple se sacrificau animale si pasari domestice comestibile si le mâncau impreuna cântau si dansau ,Existau bai publice superbe pâna astazi , pentru toti , asta inseamna ca inca de atunci exista erau puse bazele socialismullui ,
Of course, images haven't much to do with the music. But, the background of this video greatly complements the music in this particular case. In the center, we have the greatest Professor - Plato - and the greatest Disciple - Aristotle. There is nothing religious in the painting, although Christians would love to think that way …
Barbiero of Devil: Raphael’s “School of Athens” is the pinnacle of mocking religion. Instead of those chimeras, Rafael painted REAL humans who created our modern world: The Greek Philosophers. What would you or your Inquisitor-in-Chief have done to the likes of Socrates, or even Raphael! Not hard to imagine, given your words today, half a millennium after the Dark Ages! Provided, of course, conditions today had been like back then! “When religion ruled the world they called it Dark Ages.”
I'm sorry, but I've NEVER heard "igitur" pronounced with an English "j" sound outside of Texas. That can't possibly be right, can it? It sure sounds backwards.
Barbiero of Devil: I. Right! Socrates, in your fanatic skull, is a chimera like Geez, or Saint Pete, or Archangel Mikey!!! “We are Greeks, too,” the Chief Inquisitor exclaimed at the University of Regensburg in 2006!!! Those in Raphael’s painting were real human beings, not hallucinations - like everything in EVERY religion, including yours.
@CoxJoxSox: You're wrong. The Latin read as they wrote. It's always a problem for the English speakers to read by letters and not apply the English rules. Actually, your "Latin" pronunciation is off.
+# Rigmarole the way they pronounced words like igitur, velociter, atrociter, parcetur specifically, Romanian is a romance language, so it's surprising they're mispronuncing those words
Really? Hey,does the fact that it was painted for the Pope's palace in the Vatican convey anything to your mind? Oh, I suppose you're one of those who say that Catholics aren't Christian.
Честит празник на всички студенти и техните преподаватели! Да са живи и здрави, ученолюбиви, успешни, обичливи и много щастливи! Наздраве! 👍💯🎶📖🍀❤️🍾🥂🙂

I have, but only 2 years in Gymnasium 50 years ago. I know to sing this Song, so the lyrics will not be forgotten until I live.
This is the best version that I have ever heard sung with great gusto, and terrific acoustics certainly helped.
What a beautiful feeling that comes with singing this..
I remember my husband singing this! He was good at Latin!!!!! Thanks for posting!!
Spine tingling!!! We saw it at my alma mater in the late '60s.

My favorite song as a college student … when we had big drinking parties …
Foarte frumos ❤🎉
OMG I love this song! 🎓❤️
Bravo !!
top version!
me hace recordar mi colegio; bachillerato humanista!
I've always wondered why this student drinking song is always sung as a dirge. And how it got to be the de facto Hymn to Academia.
For first time I'm hearing that it's a drinking song lol
atata am cautat varianta asta:))

if you want to listen the lyrics pronounced corectly, definetely you should listen the song played by a latin country (Italy, Romania, France, etc)
Italian pronouciation evlolved into something entirely different.
Well as someone who grew up speaking Latin, who went to church in Latin and who studied Latin at the University level under a person who is arguably the foremost Latin scholar in the world (Carmella Franklin - who now works for the Vatican translating rare Latin texts) I probably know what I'm talking about.
Ќе ми се плаче.
Lo cantabamos
Gaudeamus igitur , cântat de Corul Madrigal , România . Pacat ca nu sunt cântate toate strofele .
Remember that there is a difference between Medieval and Classical Latin. EG,in classical Latin v=w. Notwithstanding, "j" is just a Medieval way to write "i". The pronunciation is always "i".
Esti sigur ca este Corul Madrigal care canta?
I love this version! Do you have the full one or is this all?
Romanian Madrigal Chore!
Thank you! So can I find the full version here on UA-cam?

@CoxJoxSox Ain' tū? Sed, finge nōs homnēs modernōs esse, quī nec titulīs nec imāginibus movēntur? Quās ratiōnēs habēs ad corrigendum?
Cand ma gandesc ca trebuie sa o invat pana la sfarsitul anului 😈😂😂😱

What does this have to do with a dog's tail? :-)
music is the language of the world! Musik ist die Sprache der Voelker! Latin is only one language!

Und weitere Strofen auch.Komisch.

Ubi sunt Qui antenos ... usw. -diese Strofe haben sie ausgelassen.Warum?
Jesus Christ, that pronunciation... I'd understand the English and their funny accent in latin, but Romanians? O.o
+# Rigmarole the way they pronounced words like igitur, velociter, atrociter, parcetur specifically, Romanian is a romance language, so it's surprising they're mispronuncing those words
You are wrong.Their accent is the right one.
Your latin pronunciation is a bit off there
Really? Hey,does the fact that it was painted for the Pope's palace in the Vatican convey anything to your mind? Oh, I suppose you're one of those who say that Catholics aren't Christian.
Wasn't that the reason for the German's creating their own vernacular Bible because they couldn't read write or speak Latin? haha
При чем здесь Иисус? Это заблужденье!
