one of the most powerful rock'n'roll songs ever brought to us.. From yet another band that the media didn't give them half the respect they deserved!!! So u know what they went out and got it themselves!!!!!LOVE ALWAYS LARRY INFANTINO
These guys belong to a special group in rock history that includes bands like Joy Division, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Pixies, Nirvana and Radiohead that were all ahead of their time and created rock music that was full of angst , sensitivity, and emotion. They didn't have much staying power but this entire album was killer.
Jason awww. Dramarama was a special band to me and all of us. Joy Division, Pumpkins, Pixies, Radiohead (only up to OK Computer) and Nirvana too. Let's not hate, let's appreciate. At my wife's 40th birthday she asked me to dance and randomly Anything Anything came on. It was really sweet.
One of the rockingest songs of the 90s. Criminally underrated. Lyrically genius. "I deny a problem with my attitude, because I will work for food". Story of my life...!?
Saw them at the 1st KROQ Weenie Roast at Irvine Meadows Amphitheater. I had this album on TAPE! I rocked it on my boombox all summer long in 93! Had a great connection to the lyrics. Thank you Dramarama.
"No one really understands why my shopping cart if filled with cans" Our homeless need love and compassion. Drug addicts or not, they are someone's child. Acknowledge them. My father was homeless. I didn't understand the extent of his mental illness until much later in life. God I miss him. 😢
I agree. There are some songs you just love the first time you here them. I saw this vid on 120 minutes back in the day. I wrote down on a piece of paper"Dramarama Hi Fi Sci Fi" and when I bought this album I couldn't remember why I wrote that note until I heard this song and thought " oh yeah that's why"
I dont get why these dudes didn't get as much attention as they so truly deserve... these lads are brilliant... faves are this one, Ive Got Spies, n Anything... oh wait cant forget last cigarette :D
Either they were far too ahead of their time or Alternative Radio or KROQ maybe wasn't as big in 1993, also prolly because of the Grunge movement. This sounds like a 2000s song tbh.
This was my theme song for 1993. Now I'm tucked into bed by Jim Beam and/or various members of the Busch family but at least I'm payin' the rent. Still it brings tears to my eyes to think of his poor Mommy's passing. Dramarama were at their finest rockin' peak w/ this ablum and then just petered off into gray. The story of rock is told in quiet rooms by girls writing poetry.
squinkque Yeah, I love this song as well. It really takes me back. I remember they released an "official" acoustic version and I actually prefer it to this one, just slightly though. I called a radio station once to see if they would play it and they "couldn't find it". lol.
The acoustic version is at the end of their Greatest Hits album, very cool. It's paired w/ an acoustic cover of Kiss's "Goin' Blind." Doubly cool. I prefer their version to the Kiss version. No disrespect to Knights In the Service of Satan. Those guys got heavy juice. I've already said too much.
squinkque Thanks. You haven't said too much. I'll buy that greatest hits disc. I don't do any downloading anymore. I'm totally in my 90s mode. haha. This song does it for me every time. It literally transports me back in time.
go friend request Mark Englert on Facebook. He's one of my best friends, a super nice guy, and tell him these things. It makes him feel good, trust me. He loves to play and is just one cool dude, kind and compassionate and full of good wisdom for me through my trials, that's for sure.
Ok this song randomly popped into my head 30 years later and I couldn't remember the band or song name so I typed in "shopping cart" in lyrics and found it. So happy
Nice to see the boys getting some props. Thanks for the post. Searched for this song for three years. These were pre-Internet years, so it was tough. Bought the album used and it was once of the best CD's I ever had.
Yeah well no one really understands, A shopping cart is filled with cans, And a top hat, and a snare drum, and a horn. And a poster and some magazines, With my picture, and some magic beans, And a blanket, that I got, when I was born. Different people do the same things everyday, I just look the other way, But I keep on rollin', I keep on rollin' I deny a problem with my attitude, 'Cause I will work for food, Yeah I keep on rollin', I keep on rollin' I wasn't always pararnoid, Sang a song on Uncle Floyd, But the records, never sold, and that was bad. And my Mommy still took care of me, Till I was almost thirty-three Now she's gone up to heaven, to see Dad. Sheriffs came with pistols and their starry sleeves, Gimme thirty days to leave, And I keep on rollin', I keep on rollin No one wants to pay me for my broken heart, So now I've got this shopping cart, And I keep on rollin', I keep on rollin' On On, and on, and on, and on, and on Different people do the same things everyday, I just look the other way, And I keep on rollin', I keep on rollin' I can't live without eternal gratitude, 'Cause I will work for food, And I keep on rollin', I keep on rollin' On On, and on and on, and on, and on On, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on and on and On Source: LyricFind Songwriters: John Mills Easdale
This song surely proved that this band had plenty left in the tank after Anything, Anything, but it seemed a large majority of the world didn't want to listen. Their loss!
The song is still rock solid awesome, but man is this video a cringe fest! Especially since my favorite movie for many years now is Koyaanisqatsi and it seems almost sacrilegious to use its clips in this fashion. But yeah, the song is great.
@@edgarmartinez922 Dramarama released their best albums in 1991 and 1993, and the latter(Hi Fi Sci Fi) especially has many grunge type elements. They did virrually nothing of note in the 80s apart from Anything, Anything and the cover of Mott the Hoople's I Wish I Was Your Mother.
IMHO- The BEST song dramarama did- still cant believe it didnt have better commercial success!Another Gem from '93

Shane Meehan Dramarama doesn't suck like the bands you listed.

Nope, Dramarama's the only unique one in that bunch.
Jason I'm the owner of this channel and I respect your opinion. I'm a musical Nazi as well. :p Enjoy this shit bro
txpunk, thank you.
Always loved this song. Dramarama is the best of the 80's
One of the greatest songs ever written....
Agreed
so good. i still can listen on repeat all these years later.
Had this CD in my pickup truck in '93. Great song to blast on the way to work.
I have no idea why this fuckin song popped in my head like 30 years later
I can't live without eternal gratitude ... yes, sir, sir.
One of the rockingest songs of the 90s. Criminally underrated. Lyrically genius.
"I deny a problem with my attitude, because I will work for food". Story of my life...!?
Same here. One of the most underrated treasures. Perfect punk band

Deals and Smeals there u p against the whole Seattle thingy
Because the bass player decided he was done and the rest of the band was just like "OK" and that was that. Really a shame.

John Herne dramarana started in the 80s and had better songs in the 80s therefore to me they are an 80s band
Ok this song randomly popped into my head 30 years later and I couldn't remember the band or song name so I typed in "shopping cart" in lyrics and found it. So happy

i just dug out my "hi-fi sci-fi" cd and it's now in my truck's cd player. that was such a good disc.
GOD BLESS DRAMARAMA!!
This song surely proved that this band had plenty left in the tank after Anything, Anything, but it seemed a large majority of the world didn't want to listen. Their loss!
Kinda'CoolProductions it seems your just realizing that because their are alot of good songs they made besides this song
What Are We Gonna Do? (April 21) from the album "Vinyl."

I came here looking for the album but can't find it so I'll settle for my favorite song.
В России о вас тоже знают, у меня даже есть виниловая пластинка купленная в Украине! Вы настоящие рок-н-рольщики
Exactly, Dramarama is so underrated, but they're great!
Респект Вам! В своё время даже создал группу в ВК и сайт на народе:) они вживую даже лучше!
That’s the fuckin ticket.

Soul Asylum anyone?
ruralguy63 do not insult an awesome 80s band like dramarana by comparing them to those awful grunge bands of the 90s
@@edgarmartinez922 If you think Soul Asylum is just an awful 90s grunge band, then you clearly have missed their best work.

@@UnlimitedHangoutthey really don’t have a single bad album. All of them are excellent
I hate the singer...! :D
Why?
