Just stumbled upon this. Your video is the most realistic capture of what a REAL Firefall looks like- even the "timelapse" was great. I know, I've tried 13 times in the last 7 years (I lost count) and have seen the true, full red, Firefall exactly 2 times. Congratulations.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it is greatly appreciated! And my apologies for my late response. That is incredible! It seems like we were truly lucky to have witnessed this on one of our first attempts. We went again last year and the couple nights we tried to see the firefall it was not nearly as vibrant or beautiful as this first time. We are thinking of going again this year. It is such a magical experience. Here's hoping we get that true, full red once again! ❤
Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked the video! I admit I was also expecting more snow before we went, perhaps we got lucky with the weather? It was definitely manageable yet still very beautiful. 😄
I am planning to visit Yosemite this winter and this is the best video in terms of "real life" i've found, I really felt that I was there with you guys. Thanks for sharing! We will stay for two days in Mariposa, do you think that it is enougth time to do the mandatory principal places in the Park?
@@AdventureswithPinny Not yet 😞Possibly this year....I actually got laid off soon after posting that and I have not found a new job yet. But I think something is coming soon. 🙂
Hello and thank you! Sorry for my late response. In this video we were in Yosemite from February 19th to 21st, 2021. I hope you had a wonderful trip to Yosemite!
Hello and apologies for my late response! Thank you so much!! I have a Sony A73 and used a Sony Alpha 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G lens (links in description). I can't remember my exact settings but had it on manual at ~f/10, ISO 100, 1/10s. But I adjusted the shutter speed as the light dimmed. I hope this helps!
Hello and sorry for my late reply! Did you end up going to see the fall? We are thinking of going again this year ourselves! It may be too late, but when we visit Yosemite we stay in the town of Mariposa about 50min from the park and rent an Airbnb since we are usually staying with a group. There are also some hotels / lodges in or near the park that would be great to stay at such as Yosemite Valley Lodge and The Ahwahnee.
Nice video, and great shots, some of those views I have yet to do myself. Only correction I have, it’s not called “Firefall” the correct name is “Horsetail Falls”. The firefall does not happen anymore that. They stopped doing that in 60’s
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Apologies for my late response. Very true, the waterfall's true name is Horesetail Falls but this natural event has seem to have been dubbed "Firefall" in recognition of the past (throwing coals over the cliffside, crazy to think they used to do that haha). Have a great day and thank you for your comment!
I do not have a car. Is it easy to travel from Airport to Park and within the park? Do they have uber/lyft? Are they expensive? Is it worth visiting in mid January?
Hello and apologies for my late response! Im not sure if it is too late to answer, but I would recommend having a car to get around Yosemite. There aren't Ubers or Lyft available in the park. If you fly into Fresno Yosemite International Airport (the closest airport to Yosemite) they do offer rental cars there. I also think it is definitely worth visiting in mid January! Just check the weather leading up to your trip in case of unexpected bad weather, but January usually isn't too bad in Yosemite (similar to the weather shown in this video). I hope this helps, have a great day!
Hello and sorry for my late reply. I agree! Yosemite truly is such a magnificent park with endless beauty. It's definitely our favorite national park. ❤
Hello! This was in mid February. If you're interested in seeing the Firefall event, it takes place every year around ~Feb 10 to 27. I hope this helps. 😊
So what did you think of the Firefall? Before seeing it in person, we thought the pictures we saw of it must have been edited, but no, it really is like fire! 🔥 👇 Planning your trip to Yosemite in winter? Incredible! I enjoyed the not drinking on bridges content. V true
Thank you! Not as juicy as our last Yosemite video. But the people need to know the truth about bridges. 👏
Hi, great video, which exact day you went there? I am planning to go in dicemeber 28th

Hi we're looking to head up that way this year. any suggestion on where to stay that close to the fall?

I'm going to guess that Peter is a Virgo and Linny is an Aries.
Pretty close! Peter is a Pisces and I (Linny) am a Taurus. Thanks for watching! 😊
