    So excited for my first diy battery change. I booked a last minute flight to dahab, and ofc my suunto is dead- luckily i managed to order a kit that arrives in 24h. Thank you for this video

    Very well explained. It's nice to see someone that knows how to brief this job, plain and clear. Good job.

    These are the same steps for all Suunto D4 series computers, with minor differences being the screw types, and lining up the back of the case.
    Most dive computers have very similar steps, so these same steps will likely work on other computers too.
    For those curious about free diving and breath holding, here are my tips for beginners: ua-cam.com/video/rB62Qp6Yqr0/v-deo.html

    How do shops get away with charging so much for this? Just bought my first computer, a D4i Novo and glad I found this video, cheers!

      I know! It's crazy for a 10 minute job and a $10 new battery & oring kit! Happy to hear you are saving money and doing it yourself 🤙

      Serious shops would add a pressure test to make sure it is sealed 100%. But yes, it's expensive...

    Thanks for the video. Can you tell me the size of the torx screwdriver you are using for the D4 i ?

    What size Torx.... I have one too big and another too small. Don't want to have to buy a full set of Torx for such a small job.

    Excellent video, I have a question I bought this one model used before by another person yesterday and it is impossible for me delete the old history log of dives, today seeing your video I remove the battery with the hope that if I leave the computer for one day without battery the logs will be removed what do you think? do you know how much time I need to leave the watch without the battery to delete the old dive logs?
    Thanks!

    love your video. I have a question, do you need to pressurize the watch to like 6 bars when the battery is changed?

    • @androopr
      @androopr  3 роки тому +1

      Great thoughtful question! This particular dive computer does not need to be pressurized because there is such little remaining room for air spaces that will compress under pressure. It relies on the oring seal to keep the water out

    Instead of that type of grease, can you use Molykote 33 light ?

    Based on experience, Is a leak/pressure test needed after a diy replacement?

    • @androopr
      @androopr  3 роки тому

      Good question- if the oring is in place and the screws are tight there should be no problems but it doesn't hurt to test anyways.

      Thank you! It's silicone grease. Usually if you buy an oring it will come with a small amount of grease in the packaging. Hope this video saves you money!

    Hello, What is the thickness in mm of the battery? I could not get a battery replacement kit in my country but I found some batteries, although I don't know if the thickness is the correct one.
    Thanks

    If you hadn't replaced the o-ring, but instead used the old one what would be the recommended method to clean it?

    • @androopr
      @androopr  Рік тому +1

      Just run your fingers around it and remove any dust and dirt, carefully inspect for cracking or damage , then put grease on it and put back in the same way. I’d personally be comfortable doing that if my new battery didn’t come with a new oring but of course requires some judgement

      Hey quick q: where did you get the grease from if its not with the battery? So solely the battery without o ring and grease?
