You know, that first-person EXE game could've been decent if the story focused on some crazed Sonic fan kidnapping the protagonist's son as part of some sacrificial summoning thing (like maybe he believes the Sonic.EXE story, and thinks that he's being haunted), a lot like that whole incident with the kids and Slenderman. I know it sounds messed up, but it would fit better for a game like that.
So maybe a psychological thriller or SAW type thing that focuses on a crazed fanboy? You could take Sonic out of that and make a pretty killer movie actually, I like this idea.
Yes the story was so spooky in fact the Creepypasta Wiki Admins moved it to the Trollpasta section But the creator of course defended his (yes he really called it that) "masterpiece"
On one hand, I don’t think Sonic.exe was ever a “good” creepypasta per se; tried to be scary by playing things straight, but the concept didn’t have much to go on. On the other hand, I’d only call it “trollpasta” now because the internet memed and overused the hell out of it, not at all the original work’s fault. So no, original creator, it’s not a “masterpiece”, but it probably didn’t deserve to be treated as a joke either.

Oh god...dat feel when you are a character in a Sonic.EXE Fan game... btw Sonic.EXE Nightmare Beginning is actually pretty good, there are multiple endings and every character can actually survive, you should give it another chance. The developer put a lot of work into it :)
I actually know the creator of Five Nights at Sonic's, he's a pretty nice guy. I believe he only JUST turned 18 this year (2017) and made those games completely on his own with what he had available to him and most people will tell ya that drawing with a mouse on a computer and making it look like anything better than shit is a hell of a feat. He's made several games in the FNaS line with not too much improvement in art style because he kept putting them out faster than he could learn in the art department while learning more in the programming one, although as he went along more people were willing to help him with various other things like sound and voice acting. It makes me sad to see his work on here because he was literally just a kid learning and enjoying making something his own when he made those.
That's one of the things about Pikasprey I like. He's willing to just say "yeah, this game is bad" whereas I feel like a lot of people would try to be nice and say something more along the lines of "well, this game could have been better, but they still tried!"
The FNaS games were actually jokes at first, then it actually started to gain traction. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th entry aren’t even completely copied. And, Five Nights at Sonics Maniac Mania (an ultimate custom night variant), is actually very solid.
i sometimes cry when he is like "Its where someone wrote a spooky story about a spooky game with a spooky sonic that does spooky things and someone made a spooky game about that" i just love that
I respect your opinion on Nightmare Beginning. Just a few things to know: There's multiple endings (the bad one is canon) There's a sequel in the works The creator has a youtube account. Basically, who dies and how effects your ending.
The multiple endings of which are useless, the trilogy of which is unpolished, has inconsistent story; is the definition of poor game design; it doesn't matter if the creator has a UA-cam account. It also doesn't matter if characters dying changes the ending, especially if the most endings are absolutely useless.
@@lukcdk Sonic.exe Nightmare Beginning, and then a version of Sally.exe continued nightmare that I'm certain was cast into oblivion, then the eye of three (both part 1 and 2). And this is only if I remember it correctly, as I took an extremely long time just to acquire the code to part 2 of the eye of three, courtesy of getting stuck on a spring several times. Either way, I consider both part 1 and 2 of the eye of three as separate games, because they are quite literally separate. So separate that I almost gave up on part 1 of the game because of how buggy it was. Either way, a more simple list. Sonic.exe Nightmare beginning. (Sally.exe Nightmare Continued. - was cast into oblivion.) Sally.exe Nightmare Continued The Eye Of Three (both part 1 and 2).
@@godzillian Sonic.exe Spirits of Hell is pretty good. There is a sequel being made, and by the teasers it is actually quite promising. Unlike Nightmare Beggining, the canon end in this game is that the 3 victims survive.
That first one is like adding random FNAF-like jumpscares to Silent Hill. It removes any of the only actually scary parts, psychological horror and just adds things to startle you. That destroys all of the precariously crafted tension that was carefully built up.
Ирина Ручко sonic.exe spirits of hell is actually pretty fun it has multiple stages from the original games and a multiple endings such as solo survivals duo survivals
The original fangame isn't bad though (for creepypasta game standards, I mean). The only problem it has is that it exposes all the problems of the original creepypasta.
I'll be completely honest, Sonic.exe Nightmare Beginning was a good fan-game. I mean, in my opinion. EDIT: Just realized you said you thought it wasn't bad. Well... my comment is useless then.
That game screams "Multimedia Fusion default platform movement" to me. To elaborate: that's a point and click game editor with a really buggy platform movement system that will get you stuck all the time. I've played so many MMF games I just can't stand seeing that lazy, effortless, default movement type used in _anything._
Nightmare beginnings is a bit cryptic. The idea is to get sonic to chase you then have him jump into the ring first which takes you to a different area instead.
In Nightmare Beginning's defense, it does stand out amongst Sonic.exe fan games for having alternative endings and giving the player a chance to save the characters.
If I ever met the creator, I’d recommend that he move away from Sonic.exe, while keeping as much of what he already has on the project as possible. There’s clear talent and effort behind that project, and if it can swap the monster out for something original and actually scary, we could get something beautiful. The oversaturation of first person, no-self-defense horror games might still cause problems there, but that’s not his fault.
With forces on the horizon, I'll share my rad OC with you guys. I agree with them all except nightmare beginning because he had endings in that where you can get the characters to survive so you probably just got one ending and didn't do anything else
@@hunlepto2239 The story is inconsistent, all I know is that everyone is incompetent and they all contradict themselves in each ending. The main antagonist; apparently protagonist wants to save Mobius. Henceforth the character kills everyone and basically necromances them to make an army. The reason of all of this? Some overpowered characters want to erase Mobius, their reason? Because the mortals are observing the demons. Then there's Sonic who literally becomes a super Saiyan and tries to kill Sonic.exe. He dies from a heart attack. Oh wait, that's not right, he actually jumped into some spikes. Oh wait, that's not right, he allowed Sonic.exe to kill his friends. It's self explanatory, really.
I think you played a very early version of Nightmare begins. As far as I know a version that was already available when this video was uploaded was quite different that the one you talk about, without that part where you play as sonic.exe, and with a hide and seek part much much creepier. It also, as people told you, let you actually save the characters, and has an actual story that makes sense when you discover it. It's not a masterpiece by any definition, but it isn't bad, either. It also has a sequel that keeps expanding the lore.
@@godzillian okay dude, I think we get it, you think it’s a shitty game, but whether it is or not doesn’t matter. I’ve been scrolling through the comments and I’ve seen you constantly bash this game to no end and it’s getting tiring. You don’t have to like the game, but you don’t have to force your opinion onto everyone else either
@@reddeath5791 Tell me, where have I attempted to force my opinion onto other people? I have either poked fun at certain aspects of the game, or I have posted my experiences and thoughts on the game as to dissuade others from playing the game at the time, until it was of acceptable quality: however, as I am terrible at conveying points, it is likely that whatever I have said has been misconstrued. From my experience, around an unknown amount of years ago (I do-not understand your intent of you posting your comment at this time, it is relatively irrelevant: and it lacks any useful information for me to understand why I am wrong. Most-especially when, as you said, you found several comments of mine bashing the game: I have possibly provided sufficient information as to why the game wasn't good at the time from my point of view) the game was buggy, the plot was neat: however it was all-over the place; the characters, although some had cool concepts, weren't executed as well as one may expect. I understand that it's a fan-game, but it could've at-least been polished before release. I found several bugs that completely ruined my experience, and there were some bizarre design choices that did the same too. Either-way, I haven't checked on the game in forever, and I don't exactly hold the same opinion that I did all that time ago. For all I know, it could be absolutely amazing now, with sprites for characters that aren't just recolors with minor-changes, a story that makes sense, where your choices actually matter, with the canon ending being whatever the user chooses, and isn't defined by other people. Hopefully, you may understand that a significant amount of time has passed, and I may neither posses the same opinion as I once did, and that you should really rephrase what you said because it really seems like I've suddenly become a public nuisance and I plague every-single comment with libel or something. On a more serious note, I wasn't trying to force my opinion onto others, I was merely (as previously mentioned) advising others to stay away from the game until it is more refined, whether it be through minor comments that poke fun at an aspect of the game, or by sharing my experiences. Although, as anticipated, others who took my comments to heart may have wanted to see the game themselves. Although I doubt anyone really cares about whatever burdens I dump onto the internet.
Sonic.EXE nightmare beginnings was actually very good because of its multiple endings. Arguably, it gets even better with Sally.exe Continued Nightmare. They aren't masterpieces but seeing these characters I grew attached to die in brutal and sad ways in a survival horror setting really got to me. All without making uses of jumpscares constantly.
I agree, Nightmare Beginnings doesn't look as bad as, say… Sonic.EXE: Spirits of Hell. My god, the channel dedicated to SoH (most likely the dev's channel) looked so cringe I just never watched 'em. Anyway… that's all my time.
Kinda sad you didn't figure out the way to get to the good ending inSonic.exe Nightmare Beginning. Where the quality boosts up to full speed. You know theres 2 demo's of a sequel to this. They're alot better than the last one.
I've said it once and I'll say it again. Every fandom has a bit of "cancer." Just some a little more than others. Or a lot more, looking at this video.
There was like a three week period about a year and a half ago where I was really into Sonic.exe for some reason, I knew a lot of it sucked but I found the concept really interesting and watched some videos on what seemed like some decent Sonic.exe games. Looking back I don't think they were as good as I thought but they had some heart put into them at least, unlike most of these ones, seeing as half of the list is literally Five Nights at Sonic's.
Okay, in a dumb way, I sort of like the true concept of FNaS, with all the enemies being clones and not animatronics. I don’t think a FNAF clone is the best medium to explore that idea, though. I was thinking more, Eggman starts cloning Sonic characters to use against their originals, that goes horribly wrong. GUN notices something strange and sends Shadow to investigate, he finds the base where this went down…and now it’s Sonic Resident Evil. Except the clones are way more dangerous than zombies.
FNaS 3, 4, and 5 are NOT just recolors in FNaS 3 you also face T. Withered Sonic, Mario, and Yoshi and G. Sonic Fnas 4 You Face Toymare which is a abomination of the withered toy animatronics. FNaS 5 1: Nothing like Sister Location 2: only Golden Sonics and Shadow Sonic 3: has a HARD MODE
The spookiest sonic fangame is "Sonic Gather Battle". The reason it's so scary? Well, the creator didn't want anyone to steal his (stolen from official games) sprites, so he implemented what is basically malware. If I remember correctly, it uploads your IP address to a cloud storage server, watches what you're doing or looking at, and if you do something it doesn't like (e.g. search "sonic gather battle cheats" or open a cheat program.) it will start one of three DRMs. It also edits your registry, and refuses to work on a virtual machine. Turns out, those attempts at protecting the sprites went all for nought, and people started spreading the sprites around just to spite the creator.
There's something about his voice that I *love.* And I've only seen a few other channels with similar tones that I enjoy, like Solar Sands, Hamon Beat, and Nifty Drifter. -Actually, those are the only others I've seen, but-
I remember when I was a kid and my legs would shake over how scared I was. I'm not "scared" of it now but seeing him just brings back the anxiety from my childhood. I couldn't sleep for 2 weeks back then.
I'm glad you ripped on FNaS. Everyone seems to praise that series as if it's Citizen Cane all because popular UA-camrs played it and the creator is egotistical as fuck.
Pikasprey Yellow I hope you’ll continue to do these videos. It’s funny seeing people get mad over an opinion. Though I do wish some of these people calmed down a little.
Stenhård Kinnikuman FNaF as a whole is nowhere near close to being meant for children. The series itself is about child murder, how the hell is that kid friendly?
Nightmare Beginning is fantastic, you got the worst ending. There are a bunch of other endings plus a true ending and it's pretty incredible. The bad ending is supposed to be close to how the original creepypasta played out and the others are got by doing things differently.
Well, Sonic.exe nightmare beginning actually has a few alternate endings, you can actually save the characters as well, I'd suggest giving it another go if you ever feel like it.
Five Nights at Sonic's was something I wasn't expecting. Also, it's not drawn by MS Paint. Ian, the creator of the games, clarified that for me. It's only that ClickTeam's Art Thingy looks like it. Also, yes, it was a joke/parody. I think it wasn't meant to have multiple sequels, but the original got boomed with popularity, so they just went and made more and more. Also, 2 and forwards have new things. 2 has hallucinations, 3 has power like FNaF 1, and 4 had vents and a pirate's cove. Plus, FNaF 5 is pretty original.
actually, the first game in the FNaS series had graphics made in flipnote studio but then edited on game maker (as the games were made on game maker), also FNaS5*
2:46 - I think this LEGO Sonic in particular is a reference to the original creepypasta, because at the end, the main character turns around and finds a sonic.exe doll on his bed.
Nightmare's beggining has multiple endings as you can save everyone and get a good ending you wouldnt know if you dont experiment so i understand if you mess up and i will not blame you for it. all im saying is give it another shot and try to save some people by finding the secrets in every level
I'd say the FNaS series definitely improved starting with the third game, at least with originality. In fact there's even a UCN-styled game for it and it's definitely worth checking out.
There's actually more to "Sonic.exe Nightmare Beginning", The shift into a race is essentially a game over, to win Act 2 you must have Sonic.exe chase you and trap himself into a giant ring, by then the ring will turn blue. You must get into the blue ring to have Tails survive, as well as that, the destination is Scrap Brain, while you search around you'll find out a fanon re-imagining of the story behind Sonic.exe. The Knuckles section (which you could probably tell) is all about breaking walls, once you're in the chase section, while you try to go down a part of the tiles you can break the floor, going to a big ring. While Eggman's part is nothing special, one of the new zones, Deadly Fog, has you trying to protect the other crew members while trying to find the Master Emerald. The final fight has you trying to land enough hits before you die. While there were multiple endings and easter eggs, the ride is enjoyable until it lasts.
Ah, yes. The creator of that is me. And no, they're not really OCs, tbh. Just alternate versions of the actual characters to fit in the game, though, that's not the point. Just wanted to let everyone know that FNaS WAS started as a joke. Just a little game I made to see how I would do at programming things. Which is why I based it so heavily on FNaF1 so I had a specific goal to go towards. All the code and graphics were mine, and I was quite proud of it back then, since I actually felt like I finished something. And it was just made for fun. I would've stopped there, but people seemed to like what I was doing, so the series was continued as for me to have feedback as I slowly improved in my game design. As I went on to make more FNaS games, I started to add more and more things differently in each game, even if their base was still pulled from a FNaF game. And my programming and coding would continue to improve with each one as well. The series was made as a guide for me to learn game design more and get better with feedback from the community. My graphics would somewhat improve over the whole series, but I can't 3D model and I don't want someone else to do work for me, so I kept the drawing stuff going. FNaS 5 would have to be the pinnacle of the series, however, as I set out to try and make a game full of my ideas and my ideas only, mixing in stuff from my older games to add some flair to it, and it's my best game yet in my opinion. Of course, people may not like it, but I don't really mind. It's still something I made and I'm proud of it. The experience has lead me to have close friends I can consider a nice made dev team, and a somewhat nice, but small "fanbase" of people who support what I like to do, which is make games. And since I've gotten better over the past three years, for anyone who's reading this who might've tried or seen the FNaS series, I'd recommend giving RockClones a try. It's not a FNaF fangame, but a Mega Man fangame, to show how much I've improved since FNaS 1, and it's the finale to one of the biggest parts of my life. Honestly, without the series, I wouldn't feel as happy as I am today. Even IF people don't like the game, I don't mind at this point, honestly as long as they give good criticism and stuff. So yes, FNaS was practically a re/demake of FNaF for the most part. I know everything's not original mostly. But it was meant to be a learning experience for making games, which was the main focus in my eyes, using real people as a feedback for me to grow better, which honestly kept me going. Hopefully people understand this. We all gotta start somewhere anyways. Nobody's going to be that good the first time around. Thanks for reading.
Actually, I do think the concept was nice (For the time, I mean, no famous games were about murderous Animatronics in 2013) but Cawthon milked -it a little- WAY too much. The small features added were pretty nice, however the 5-10 year olds infected it in, like, a year. And now, there’s a REAL VIDEO ON THIS GODDAMNED SITE called “sexy chica” and it was a model of Chica laying in a suggestive pose on the stage area. The video was just some frames of getting to said model and of it winking, and the video ends.
the game with the hide and seek section does have more to it than you covered, i know this is an old video, but if you haven't gone back to it, i wanna say it's honestly not a bad fangame. it has a better story to it than the original creepypasta, with it actually taking place within the sonic world instead of it just being a haunted video game, and there being an actual sequence of events leading up to what's happening. on the surface it's meant to just basically replicate what happens in the original game/story but there's a whole thing where if you play the game while keeping an eye out for secrets, alternate paths show up. the red ring part in particular kinda shows that you didn't play it for too long, which i don't blame you for, but there is a thing that shows up where if sonic goes into the ring before you, it turns blue and you can escape from him. knuckles can find secret paths that let him escape. there's also some kind of black ring mechanic but i forget if that was important or not. it might not be the best fangame compared to others but it's a decent one with interesting ideas considering the source material. it doesn't seem incredibly horror-based like most other sonic.exe fangames, and seems to lean a little more into being a paranormal/action kinda game. it has a sequel as well, and i think it goes in a similar direction.
One can't expect every fan project to be the next Sonic Mania, so I'm fine with these games existing... unlike many other people. Some people just want to have fun with the process of making a fan game and have no desire to throw hours at the many problems of game development like lacking talent or keeping the scope of a project in check. And less talk about the "elitistation effect" in a community, better.
It's funny to revisit this video now and see him talk about Five Night's at Sonics and Sonic.exe Nightmare Beginning, because both of these games led to a bunch of sequels and now have big communities and led to a bunch of good-ass games, especially Sonic.exe The Spirits of Hell that was made in very big inspiration to Nightmare Beginning, and is straight up an insanely good game. (Not counting the fact that they have a lot of story and stuff to enjoy, especially in the original Nightmare Beginning game)
I was actually a bit scared of Sonic.exe as a kid, and I still find him morbid, but the spawned fans games are just Final Fantasy reskins made in RPG-Maker
the only good rm game are those who make a horror game out of it (Mario the music box, etc), if that battle screen pops up even once, you know your in for a shitheap
So, I know it’s overstated on these videos, but I can’t stress enough how you didn’t give Nightmare Beginning enough of a chance. The game has multiple endings, depending on a number of very particular things you can do, and all three characters can actually survive in the best one. It’s almost like a Don’t Escape game in how you must do a very specific and challenging series of tasks to succeed properly. Hide and seek is quite stressful if played correctly, as you actually need to hide to survive. Ideally, you wouldn’t end up in the race, escaping instead. The creator put a great deal of effort and time into Nightmare Beginning, and it’s well worth a much deeper look. That ‘OG Sonic.EXE recreation’ is nothing but a mere facade, a thin veneer overlaying the experience the game can really provide.
I remember when I was like 10 years old, I first heard of Sonic.exe and I couldn't sleep the entire night. I decided to watch TV but I was terrified that the TV would turn red and all static like and sonic.exe would appear and kill me. I can't believe I was afraid of that piece of shit lol.

I respect your opinion on Nightmare Beginning. Just a few things to know:
There's multiple endings (the bad one is canon)
There's a sequel in the works
The creator has a youtube account.
Basically, who dies and how effects your ending.
(jaiz coys)
*Oh no*
The multiple endings of which are useless, the trilogy of which is unpolished, has inconsistent story; is the definition of poor game design; it doesn't matter if the creator has a UA-cam account.
- was cast into oblivion.)
Sally.exe Nightmare Continued The Eye Of Three (both part 1 and 2).
@@godzillian Sonic.exe Spirits of Hell is pretty good. There is a sequel being made, and by the teasers it is actually quite promising. Unlike Nightmare Beggining, the canon end in this game is that the 3 victims survive.
The reason Brock dosen't like to talk about Professor Ivy is because of the history with Sonic.exe
That first one is like adding random FNAF-like jumpscares to Silent Hill. It removes any of the only actually scary parts, psychological horror and just adds things to startle you. That destroys all of the precariously crafted tension that was carefully built up.
If the original creepypasta and official fangame weren't garbage enough, here's THIS.

The first game had potential for an actual horror game
Your parents never thought the same of you.

Manuallion 20804 Multiple endings do not make a game good.
Having an ending where everyone lives is boring.
i think he means that Pikasprey Yellow didnt explore anything about the game and called it a waste of potencial w/o looking for potencial.
It's not only the ending, but it also tells you the story of the game if you're clever enough to find it out.
By lore, do you mean inconsistent story?
"You think you're gonna win, but you know what im going to say? Gotta go fast." lmao
I agree, Nightmare Beginnings doesn't look as bad as, say…

There was like a three week period about a year and a half ago where I was really into Sonic.exe for some reason, I knew a lot of it sucked but I found the concept really interesting and watched some videos on what seemed like some decent Sonic.exe games. Looking back I don't think they were as good as I thought but they had some heart put into them at least, unlike most of these ones, seeing as half of the list is literally Five Nights at Sonic's.
The line "YOU MUST DIE" is one I can never be legitimately afraid of - I can only read it in the voice of Philips CD-i Ganon

I’m gonna name my first born son John heroine and see how that works out for him.
FNaS 3, 4, and 5 are NOT just recolors in FNaS 3 you also face T. Withered Sonic, Mario, and Yoshi and G. Sonic
Fnas 4 You Face Toymare which is a abomination of the withered toy animatronics.

Your sarcastic commentary makes it so much better. I’m going to make a bad fan game just for you!
That actually made me laugh, serves the creator right

I'm glad you ripped on FNaS. Everyone seems to praise that series as if it's Citizen Cane all because popular UA-camrs played it and the creator is egotistical as fuck.
Tell me about it. The creator even sent me a long message saying that this was a "personal attack" against him.
Pikasprey Yellow I hope you’ll continue to do these videos. It’s funny seeing people get mad over an opinion. Though I do wish some of these people calmed down a little.
I mean, he did basically stereotype him for every 10 year old kid who likes FNaF, which is rude in and of itself.

FNaF as a whole is nowhere near close to being meant for children. The series itself is about child murder, how the hell is that kid friendly?
Regardless of who takes it seriously or not, it sure as hell isn't who it's made for.
Nightmare Beginning is fantastic, you got the worst ending. There are a bunch of other endings plus a true ending and it's pretty incredible. The bad ending is supposed to be close to how the original creepypasta played out and the others are got by doing things differently.
Well, Sonic.exe nightmare beginning actually has a few alternate endings, you can actually save the characters as well, I'd suggest giving it another go if you ever feel like it.
wasn't that a remake of the game/ another game?

ANNOUNCE YOUR JUMPSCARES!! The FNAS5 one at around 12:30 got me too good!
Five Night's At Sonic's is a surprisingly good game. I usually have low expectations for the FNAF fan games, but this one is pretty decent.
actually, the first game in the FNaS series had graphics made in flipnote studio but then edited on game maker (as the games were made on game maker), also FNaS5*
I saw the assets used in Alexander Carizzo's deviantart (alexandersupremo) You should check it.
2:46 - I think this LEGO Sonic in particular is a reference to the original creepypasta, because at the end, the main character turns around and finds a sonic.exe doll on his bed.
Well, *Sonic. EXE Spirits of Hell* is a MASTERPEICE

Nightmare Beginnings actually looked pretty good to me. I strongly feel that Spirits of Hell should've taken its spot here…
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT YOUR SAYING SAYING SPIRITS OF HELL IS BAD ?!?
Yes. That’s exactly what I’m saying.
Nightmare's beggining has multiple endings as you can save everyone and get a good ending you wouldnt know if you dont experiment so i understand if you mess up and i will not blame you for it. all im saying is give it another shot and try to save some people by finding the secrets in every level
By secrets, do you mean the places where you are forced to find to progress, despite no indication towards their existence?
Pikasprey at fnas 5: this is the last one....
Fnas maniac mania: are you sure about that?
Fnas rockclones: are you REALLY sure?!?
You should think about sonic.exe nightmare beggining again because first its out as a real game second it has secrets and stuff like multiple endings
i love how you put happy pokemon music in the background
I'd say the FNaS series definitely improved starting with the third game, at least with originality. In fact there's even a UCN-styled game for it and it's definitely worth checking out.

@@drippyog3935why does this reply taste like earthworms
Acctualy the fnas chars are clearly OC's made by crummy 5 year olds who think fnaf is cool
realsonic gaming dumb ass I saw the real creator it’s 1ianmario
RednicDMT And Inno yes
It's kind of funny how people still use RPG-Maker 2000/2003 for so much shit...
That Luigi scene totally got me... i'm laughing so hard
