Exactly the video that I needed. I was looking at both since the Opolar was actually more expensive than Merkmark from where I'm coming from. Glad to see an actual comparison so I think I'll go with Merkmark for this one since I don't really mind the noise and it's more powerful (and cheaper) from where I can buy them.
Thanks for the video. Exactly what I needed. I actually got the X POWER corded air duster originally but I decided to go for the Purple trimmed duster due to it being cordless and seeing another youtuber use it when cleaning dirty PCs but he has the OPOLAR variant so this should be better. Sadly we will never know who originally invented this because there are a ton of China copycats and the price variation is pretty big hopefully mine is decent. Although you said the merkmark was louder you actually sounded a little clearer on when speaking over so probably hitting some different audio frequencies
Yeah I was wondering about that kind of thing too. The disposable cans have a really narrow straw that I can get in-between keys, and it works excellently for chasing out dust or cat hair. I wouldn't want a duster without one.
No, the nozzle size is very precisely balanced to make the most of the specific blower characteristics of the device. If you make it bigger or smaller you will lose power. Im hoping for xiaomi to jump into this market with their turbine motors. They could produce enough static pressure to allow a small tube like with canned air.
Hey there! Really great video! These products aren't that inexpensive (relatively speaking for what they do), so this very comprehensive review was much appreciated!
The things that this video, and many similar videos, do not cover is when you are using the duster for short bursts in tight spaces. Both units have far wider nozzles than an can of air, and in that respect the Merkmark looked worse than the Opolar. Then the spool up time took far too long if you just want to give a quick and precise squirt of air somewhere.
I have the opular one and I just it on and blast away if i find a subborn area of dust i have a nozzle with a soft brush and i just use that. It has a ton of power even though the nozzle is wider than a can of air i feel like it has more pressure and the fact you dont need to do short bursts makes it easier imo you can just blast until its clean. Has about half an hour of charge on a full battery too so you can litterally just blast away for ages before it loses compression.
Which is the strongest out of all the ones you’ve tested? Amazon has a lot of fake ones that claim 100k RPM and they’re all really low. Can barely blast out dust out of a keyboard.
Didn't show the air speed of canned air so I have no comparison on which to base my decision between canned or one of these, but I guess if you already know you're going to buy one of those two devices then this vid would be perfect.
Got one of the Opolar's about 2 years ago and it worked well . But now the battery won't hold much of a charge and there doesn't seem to be away to replace it. (or places to get spares)
Nice video buddy! I was looking for this kind of a review on air dusters. I do have a question, and it's just my personal preference: are the nozzle brushes anti-static or just regular ones? I am looking for some air dusters to clean electronic boards and such, and I was wondering about that. If anyone can shed some light on that, I'd appreciate it.
i only found (merkmak) on Amazon but no merkmark.. is it the same?.. I also found the Same product but brand name is (GAfres). Also found it with brand name (bosttor). Same product but many different brand names any idea what happening?!. So confused what to get. (Sorry for my bad English)
5:52 what the heck... The opolar is more expensive than the purple one in my country. Because the purple one is just off brand Chinese product, but it did very well lol. Anyway great reviews 👍
Have you come across any of these devices that have a 120v plug in version? The environment I would use these in is an all day type scenario so recharging is not ideal for me. Could you recommend a plug-in product?
the big mains powered dusters are all similar, they use vacuum cleaner motors. they quickly get very hot, and you cannot use them continuously, you need to regularly let them cool down. if you really need to do it continuously get a silent air compressor. in fact, a silent air compressor with a thin nozzle is better than all of these solutions but more expensive and less portable.
@@drkastenbrot Yes that does sound ideal! For my criteria it would need to be light enough to be moved regularly by one person, with a small enough footprint to be used in an office and can be used with a regular 120v outlet. Also low maintenance if possible but not as a priority. If I can find something like that, it would be perfect.
@@cqon Sounds like that amazon link up there suits your needs, you can also look at the compucleaner which is what I use. they really are all the same, a vacuum cleaner motor "the wrong way round" in a plastic case. the only maintenance is regularly cleaning the little inlet filter in the bottom. You take it out, use the duster to get the dust out and put it back in within seconds.
That was not the point of the video. Here is another one I did comparing, but in my opinion there is no comparison, the Air Duster is the way to go: ua-cam.com/video/-O_ZJgIC_00b/v-deo.html
This one. I think it would make for a better comparison since the Merkmark and the new Opolar 2in1 are of the same generation as opposed to the old Opolar which has a weaker motor.
wonderful useful test. kudos for that. but you need to test more and compare more, between can dusters, between cordless and corded dusters. I have a Metro DataVac ED500 Electric Duster. how does it compare with merkman. if you do such intensive testing, then you are a certified pro.
Hi Sid, thanks for the review. I tried to order it with your affiliate link but i didn't work. Shipping to Eretz Hakoidesh. Maybe that's why? Anyway, I just opened amazon and ordered it direct. Hope it works for cleaning my A/C units. Thank you for the review.
@@SidsTips I'll send you another reply when I get it from Amazon. Should be a couple of weeks. I've got some three air conditioners in my apartment which is like a split system. The compressor is open the service balcony, and then there's evaporators in the rooms. So I want to sort of blow them out especially the the ones in the balcony outside. I didn't want to use a garden hose because I was afraid to Short circuit all the electrics in the in the unit. But I think you'll run better if there's less dirt in the radiators. So I'll give that a try. I'll also try to blow out some of the ducts and hopefully after I clean all the filters, all of the dust and dirt that's collected we'll just go back into the filters. I'll probably use it also to clean a bunch of laptops in the apartment as well which have accumulated lots of dust. Thanks again for the review, I feel really bad that you didn't get some affiliate commission because you certainly deserve it. I would have bought this thing sight unseen, but now at least I saw a go. Very much enjoy your reviews. All the best

i saw that o polar have so much product related to fan even pillow so maybe o polar the original idk
the "china copycats" that look identical are the same. the two shown in this video are just rebranded, its all from the same factories.
Battery wore out after 2 years no easy way to replace it or get spares that I have seen.
Helpful review. I've been searching online to help me decide what to get. Are those high speeds in Merkmark safe for cleaning my PC?
Talking through the noise was both amusing and a good review tactic
Gracias!! aca en Argentina hay una parecida, creo que es la misma practicamente, pero dice "AIRE COMPRIMIDO LUXIU AIR DUSTER INALAMBRICO PORTATIL"
I’d like to see these compared to canned air, datavac, and the xpower ones.
What does the sensor thing test? Rpm or what? How does it compare to a quick canned air blast?
A db sound level for both would have been ideal. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the review. I wonder if we can make the nozzle hole smaller to increase the pressure. Do you think it can make significant difference?

I bought an opolar and they accidently sent me two of em.. lol So when the battery dies on the first one ill drag the other one out of its box.
which one is better for desktop computer case?
They both are a good way to go. The Merkmark has more power if that is what you need.

No issues with the battery to this point.
