Just made the switch to Code. If you have a downwind board…I’m new to high aspect wings…so don’t know if this is specific to Code…but when paddling for a wave, they just paddle up so nice and early…not because they have lift…early lift means drag and often ends up stalling out. I think they paddle up easy because of how efficient they are in the water, they keep accelerating esp with a fast cadence. I’m now planning 8-10 strokes to catch nearly breaking chest high swells. That’s how many it takes me to match the wave speed. Once the wave comes under, just bounce the board and voila. On foil. Pretty excited to try the 980 for a DW.

@@KitePuertoRico so far just the 980, 850 short and medium fuses. Getting the larger tail shortly, currently have the 150 tail. I've switched to using the 7'10 barracuda for sup foil, wing and of course downwind... not sure I'll need the smaller front wing, the 850 has so far handled easily some head high and a bit overhead swell. I bet the 750 is super fun in those same conditions, but for now the 850 does what I need it to do.
That’s a hard one! I’m a huge fan of the North SF as well. Can’t wait for those smaller foils in the SF range. The SF 980 is a aspect ratio is 8.8 I believe. vS the codes S are 9.5. Making them glide a bit better and more efficient. The SF surf and pump extremely well, very stable and hold good speed. I think Code has an amazing profile, smooth take off, turn and glide. Really good mix in that range making them all round pretty hot right now!
