The hook that goes under the rear of the truck is there to keep the driver from driving away with the trailer, or just so that it doesn't roll away while loading. Keeps it so that no accidents can happen where the loaders are loading/unloading until they are done.
@@Glasseh this is what we installed in our warehouse after this literally happened. Was loading trailer and driver started to drive forward. Thanks god i made inside the trailer and didnt fall in middle

What’s the purpose of the hook lifting the trailer up?
That hook at the bottom is a real rear bumper breaker. Twist them out of their attachments, especially in the case of an aluminum rear bumper.

forgot to put the tandems all the way back.
